Buharism is a Term rooted in the politics of Nigeria, referring to the economic principles and the political ideology of the military government of Nigeria headed by General Muhammadu Buhari from 31 December 1983 to 27 August 1985 when he and his deputy were removed in a palace coup for 'continuous misdirection'. This ideology shares common features with fascism; the government was a right-wing nationalist government that pursued corporatist economic programs and curtailed personal freedoms.[1] Economic reforms were characterised as moving the political economy away from the control of a group of people the Buhari administration labelled as a "parasitic" elite, and into the control of a group of people the same administration labelled as an emerging "productive" class. At its root, Buharism represented a return to harsh right wing military dictatorship after 4 years of civil rule in Nigeria, 1979-1983. |

Is that all ? So why can't you bake yours at home and stop all the time wasting in choprite? |
RealityShot:Not bad, but the soil must be able to drain water , water logged soil ain't too good for yam |
Dusting yam set with ashes especially the fresh parts before planting is necessary to observe 90 to 95 % sprouting
|
My former thread could not be access by me again, what is the problem? |
adescopy:Yea my brother good question, is not compulsory but its necessary, ashes or palm oil rubbed on the fresh faces of the yam will deprive microbes from the soil to come close to the yam seedlings inside the heaps until they germinate Ashes help to turn the immediate soil area of the yam seedlings to alkaline which microbes abhor alot Apart from the hot sun that spoils yam seedlings the next spoiler is microbes, |
RealityShot:For me 15cm to 20cm should suffice in deepness While 5cm to 8cm should suffice for thickness of yam set All these measurements are subject to changes depends on you, because for me I don't measure I just cut and plant maybe because I use my experience But I will do my accurate measurements and give more precise ones I just did rough estimate, but I know the above measurements won't be too different even when I do. |
RealityShot:Good question, the top of the sliced set must face upward or laid horizontally inside the yam heap, if you lay it upside-down the yam set will not grow, to be on the safe side you plant them horizontally when you ain't sure about the tail and head of the yam set That's why when slicing a whole yam always put a cut on the middle yam sets to avoid confusion about the head and tail of the yam set |

Let me explain with pictures
|
olushollys:Just start by cutting the yam into sizes of your choice Cut the yam horizontally from the head to the tail, ensure that when planting, the head of any yam set should face upward or laid horizontally If it is not clear enough I can still use pictures to demonstrate the aforementioned |
Okuda:You nailed it bro. Laziness! |
My people you must not plant seedlings, you can buy yam tubers and diced them for planting. And the process is simple |
Honestly. I am sick and sick of how Nigerians line up forever and collect tag just to buy common bread, some even laced with chemicals (enhancer and improver) Below is an home made bread , I can't remember when last I bought bread from the stores I really want to put an end to this or bring it to the lowest level if you are interested in making yummy bread especially if you have oven at home I can be of help free of charge

[quote author=bizzibodi post=54248386]are u going to plant that big yam whole?[/ Those big yam are still going to be splitted into three sets or part, why I did not cut them into sets now is to reduce rotten seedlings, so when I want to play I will cut them and immediately rub them with ashes before putting them inside the heaps |
My brother the best time to plant yam is when you start having regular rain fall like ones or twice a week It also depends on your location, like for me I farm in Abuja, so from my little research I will start planting from late April and early may People who planted around December had to use enough mulching to ensure the seedlings don't burn, but they still experience lost as a result of delayed rainfall which is beyond their control I have also come to realise that in terms of size of the yam, during harvest, there is no significant difference between who plant late and who planted early infanct those that plant late gain more |
Even the bible calls we human little gods, let alone my lord Jesus Christ If pegan can take stones, wood and other inanimate objects as their gods are we super human not supposed to be higher in nomenclature? In conclusion Jesus Christ is God! |
