lol! thanx. actually, i use sunflower oil, but ive heard olive oil is good, so i recommended it. ive heard that olive oil when fried is dangerous, but i dunno o! i learn everyday, lol! at this point sef, i barely use any oil in my cooking. 1tbspn=120 odd calories!!! Imagine! I fear!!

cooking has always been one of my fave thins to do. i grew up watchin gordon ramsay, nigella lawson etc. im quite adventurous in the kitchen. i throw thins in the pot, sumtimes it turns out good, other times, but whichever ways, i make sure i eat woteva ive made. that way, il never make the same mistakes again. lol. made my first pot of j-rice today! (dont ask y please). so exciting. again, i just followed my instincts and it turned out great. been braggin to my sisters all day!! it didnt even get burnt! wow!fried rice is quite simple. for me, i recently started counting calories, so mine is never really "fried" like naija fried rice, but here goes:

sorry, i cant give u quantities cos i just chuck thins in as i wish! like all thins in my life, my cooking is simple and stress-free
1. mixed veg (i use frozen from sainsburys cos im lazy as hell, wish i had the time to sit and chop carrots dem dem)
2. spring onions
3. white onions and garlic
4. oil (preferably olive oil)
5. soy sauce
6. pepper (scotch bonnet or rodo) just cos i luv pepper, im sure u cud do away with it if u wanted to
7. maggi (i use chicken and crayfish), u can use the normal one, star, no?
8. shrimps ( like i said, i count calories, so my diet consists of seafood, seafood and more seafood, lol, but i kinda like the taste of shrimps with veg and rice anyway)
9. yeah, rice too and salt to taste
10. chicken stock ( i dont use this cos i feel its unecessary)


p.s i dont do all the naijan curry thyme etc. fried rice is not to b yellow. the off white discolouration (if u choose) is due to the soy sauce only!!!! learnt that in secondary scl, changed my life forever!

so, chop the spring onions, white onions and garlic and pepper. put some oil in the wok (again, u may use a pot here but i find that the wok cooks the vegetables much better and evenly without burning and also allows me to use very little oil and avoid charring my food!). i do a tablespoon of oil per person, depends on u though. pour in the chopped onions and garlic. let them stir fry on low heat for some time. 2/3mins. if using raw meat or chicken, add them now and stir occassionally to make sure they brown evenly. shud still b on low/medium heat. add in the vegetables (chopped) and pepper, sprinkle with salt (a little bit) and continue to stir fry. if using shrimps, add them now and let it fry for a bit more. reduce heat to minimum, pour in soy sauce and maggi.
boil rice in a separate pot. if using stock, boil rice in the stock. do not add salt to rice. when rice is boiled and all water dried, empty pot of rice into the wok containing the stir fry and stir in gently making sure that it doesnt get mashed up.

voila, ur fried rice is ready. hope it was useful!!!

Ive used Very Irresistible by Givenchy for 4yrs now. Its a classic, nice smell, without being too overpowering. Mature without being oldmama-ish. lol Before that, it was Eternity, CK. I dont like strong smells as they make me sneeze, so when getting a perfume, I look out for those nice and soft-smelling ones.

ok, so, im no politics guru, just sum1 that cudnt sleep and decided to get his/her regular daily dose of NL gist. maybe its my analytical or tired mind talking, but really guys, a guy goes on the world's stage, making the accusations he just did and more (serious allegations for that matter), do u realistically think (or do we all just want to believe, cos our minds are naturaly programmed to believe the worst) that he will have some damning skeletons in his closet? Yes, he gave a not-so-great interview, I have too (havent we all, the pressure, the risk involved to his family etc), so who am I to talk, but he did come across to me as very well spoken, educated and intelligent. trust me, hes calculated it all very well. Maybe he cudve done a better job as EFCC chairman, maybe his hands were tied, maybe he was guilty of partial justice, but, I honestly doubt that he will be found guilty of any of the crimes he alleges to have been committed by these as yet unnamed ppls. he knows that if deemed serious enuf by the powers that be in the US, his claims will be investigated and so will he. that is his primary aim, isnt it? he cant be prosecuted for being partial or selevtive in his judgment, or can he? If so, we all better get our lawyers on standby.

lets face it, he wasnt perfect, many things that he cudve done better, Im sure even he wud admit that, but hes done more than any of us naijans hav done. all we do is post and bash, no? hes risked his life in service of his country. I was just asking myself if I cud do wot he did, and I am sorry, I am proudly naijan, but I cant. And so, rather than bash him, I hail him. Hes a very brave man. And I have nothin but respect for him.

Lastly, men, I subscribe to the principle of half bread is better than puff puff. Actually, no, I take that back, I wud take puff puff over half bread, anyday! Ok, so, my principle is half bread or puff puff is better than no bread. Wot Im tryin to say is, he got to some ppl. lets appreciate the work he did, now another has taken over, lets hope she can do a better job, and take down more greedy naijans!!! shey obj and his gang were protected with ribby in charge, now, under whose armpits will they hide? maybe its good that we keep changing the leadership at efcc, that way, no1 will be immune or invincible. I hope!

Hi, thanx for the info, i also have something to add. was just scammed by the company, actually, not through yahoo msgr (which had been baffling me till i read ur post btw) but online. my sis wanted some weight loss pills, found this company, n "bought" a free trial off them using my card. just decided to google them and found that they are scammers. they have several names, pure-g, acai blast, nature source etc, and the no of people they have scammed in just the month of may is ridiculous. theyl keep chargin your account, abt $100 each time, and there's no way to cancel. ppl have reported to the fbi, bbb etc, but nothing concrete yet. wow, this economic crisis has definitely spurred these scammers on! please avoid all these rubbish pills, proper dieting and excercise shud b enuf!!! really! learn from my mistake all!
