Yes aff marketing is hot. I'm planning on dropping out to focus on aff cpa/Seo/marketing. Sometimes I make some people's monthly salaries in a day. One thing with Nigerians is that we are scared to invest.. I wasted lot of cash and time(100k+) doing testing(Bing ads/google AdWords to collect leads/seo). But now I've made lot of cash from aff marketing and planning to relocate to US to continue.
why will you want to relocate to u.s? i am investing all my online earnings in Naija n everything is going very fine.

Business8 Mistakes I Made Starting Affiliate Marketing In Nigeria That You Should Avoid! by importexpert(op): 9:05pm On Feb 28, 2017
over the years, i have made several mistakes while trying to start affiliate marketing business. Now that Nigerians have begin to realize that affiliate marketing is the way forward and a gold mine, i will share with you few mistakes i made while starting up so that you can avoid those mistakes and skyrocket your success in affiliate marketing. beyond every doubt, one of the most profitable and legitimate online business that anyone can indulge in is affiliate marketing.

For newbies that do not know what affiliate marketing is. The ideology of affiliate marketing is simple. Eg you sell a product, I get you buyers and you pay me commission for every single sale I brought to you. There are hundreds of millions of products to promote in the various affiliate market places and your target audience is the billions of people that uses internet daily.

Starting up as an affiliate marketer in Nigeria, below are some of the mistakes I made that I really want you to avoid.

1. Planning:

Before implementing any strategy in affiliate marketing, planning is very important. You need to have a clear picture of what you want to do. What I mean is that, if for example I want to promote a product, I will search for my target buyers and define a clear picture of the promotional method I will use for that audience. When I was a newbie in affiliate marketing, I only promote whatever appeals to me to whomever I can reach.

Remember the 6p formula. Proper prior planning prevents poor performance. The 90/10 rule says that, the 10% of the time you spend in planning saves 90% of the time and effort. Planning is critical to your success

2. Search Engines Are Enemies:

Search engines are some of the best things that have ever happened to the internet. They have made the internet a true global village. They provide valuable resources instantly and different solutions to a particular problem.

From my experience, they have a major shortcoming, for anybody that really wants to make money online, search engines are time wasters. They are very good in supplying crappy information that looks like Gold from the surface. It usually takes about a period of 2years before you know that you have been digging on craps. The end result is that you will start suffering from a popular online sickness called “information Overload”. The major symptoms of this sickness is that it will make you think you have known everything about a particular business but it can never realize into monetary value (I mean what you have been learning can’t make you money)

3. Squeeze Page is A Key

Starting up in affiliate marketing in Nigeria, i was sending traffic directly to affiliate offers. This strategy contradicts the internet marketing philosophy that says “the money is in the list”. To make real money in affiliate marketing, you need to build an email list of potential buyers.

By building a list, you already have an audience to market various products to. Remember the popular 20/80 rule: this rule states that, 20% of the customers makes 80% of the sales. Put in other words, 20% of the effort yields 80% of your result.

I simply mean that a certain percentage of your list will trust you and keeps buying the products you recommend to them.

4. Take Your Affiliate Marketing Business Serious:

When I started as an affiliate marketer, I felt I was too busy doing things that were paying less and thinks that I do not have 1-3 hours daily to do the affiliate marketing that was actually paying more. It is just like a young child telling you that he is too busy doing a 50k job and will not have 1-3hours to sacrifice for a 300k job.

You have to take your business serious and treat it like a business just like you will do to other offline businesses.

5. Traffic

Traffic is of different quality. 100 visits from high quality traffic site is better than 2000 visits from a low quality traffic site. Your traffic should be both qualitative and highly targeted. My initial source of affiliate traffic was from file sharing directories. They have some of the cheapest traffic that do not convert. When I was a newbie, I calculated traffic by volume not quality. It is later on that I realized that the quality has a better impact on my bank account.

6. Review What You Are Promoting

your email list subscribers must be treated with love and respect. Only promote products that you are sure will add value to them. Starting as a newbie affiliate marketer, I promoted products based on how appealing the sales page is to me. Unfortunately, most of those products with better sales pages were craps.

Ask the vendor/publisher for a review copy of the product or search for reviews about the product on forums. Read people’s feedback and ask the vendor few questions to see if he will respond. If he responds within 24-48hours you are good to go. The reason why you need to ask the vendor a few question is to be sure when your customers have challenge he will attend to them.

7. You Need A Guardian/Mentor

The truth about affiliate marketing is that you need a successful insider to walk you through the inside. Without a mentor/guardian the inside is dark. The greatest mistake I made in affiliate marketing was starting without a mentor. I spent my first 2years in affiliate marketing with only 3 sales of sixty dollars to show for the 2years. I wanted to give up at a time because I felt I have learn everything about affiliate marketing and it is not paying. I never knew that if a strategy really makes much Money, they do not find their way to google and other search engines.

I started seeing significant difference in affiliate marketing when I decided to get coach, a coach that is making the type of commissions I want to make. Although I spent much for his course but I now make much more than what I spent in a single day.

Hold on to me if you really want to learn affiliate marketing in Nigeria and you will celebrate in 2017.

8. Think Globally

When starting up as an affiliate marketer, I had a Nigerian mentality. Anything that I felt as a Nigerian I will not buy, I use to think the rest of the world will also not buy. A typical example is that when I started as an affiliate marketer, I do not promote products on dog training and other related courses. But after a little more exposure to the global audience, I decided to give such courses a trial. The truth is that I have made some of my best affiliate commissions promoting dog training on dog training forums. my advice is to un-cap the Nigerian mentality and think globally.

Conclusion

These are some of the mistakes I made when I started as an affiliate marketer that I do not want you to make.
Their is no better time to start an online business than now, this is because if you are waiting for the right time you will end up never starting. remember the old popular adage that says "Goods tidings goes to the people who hustle while they await it". start your affiliate marketing business today.

Business5 Things You Must Know To Live Above The Current Recession. by importexpert(op): 3:21am On Feb 28, 2017
Everyone knows the recession is biting hard. The blind can see it; even the deaf can hear it. That word has slowly found its way into the everyday vocabulary of many Nigerians. Its effect has been best experienced in terms of the economic hardships faced by Nigerians than explained via a newspaper analysis or TV discussion.

Now, we all know the reality of the situation. While everyone is lamenting the problem, very few people are searching for how to excuse themselves from its hold. They are wise, who seek solutions rather than state the problems. How can one possibly live above the tide of this recession? I have outlined in brief five things you must know.

1. Recession is bad, but not entirely bad: You remember that rule in animal farm which was later modified? “All animals are equal but some are more equal than the others”? The same logic almost applies here. This recession that plagues the country and that has brought hunger and insufficiency to the land, is also going to make a number of Nigerians wealthy. No situation is entirely bad in itself. Bad situations often leave behind some good around for those who can see to exploit. If all you can see about the nation right now is gloom and ruins, may be you do not belong to this group. If you do, you will need to think differently from the way you have always thought. A fresh perspective is what it takes to solve the problem created by the previous one. Believe me, new opportunities online are popping up every day courtesy of this recession. If only you can see them! i do not mean ponzy schemes please.

2. Forget about economic recovery for now: I know you are probably optimistic that things will suddenly soon start to improve and then the prolonged darkness hovering over the nation will give rise to a new day. I hate to bring disappointing news, but, wake up! Yes, wake up from your slumber! The economy is not going to recover any time soon. At least, not to the level of your expectations. Forget all the sweet coated talk you have read in the dailies. The tough time may drag on a bit. You should not wait for the economy to recover before your finance recovers. Be proactive. Set in motion the wheel of your financial convalescence. Get to work till recession becomes truly “a word”. dont know a profitable online venture to go into? read further!!

3. Take your hope off the protests: So, it’s about three weeks since the rendezvous protest that was scheduled to hold nationwide. The protest has come and gone. The counter protest has also come and gone. Gradually, everyone is getting used to the status quo again. While I have no problem with the protests, I always knew that the protest was not going to bring about immediate improvements. No, seriously, were you expecting any speedy changes? This is Nigeria, my friend. If any tangible improvement would come, it has to go through a plethora of committees. It may even take a year before the final recommendations are submitted. After that, comes the implementation period which will take plenty of time. The point is, protests are useful only on the long run; they have no benefit for the masses at the moment. This is why you should protest if you want to, but get yourself busy in the present with actualizing your goals, irrespective of the challenges that confronts you. as zigler said in his book, you can reach the top, obstacles are a path way to success.

4. Your job does not qualify as a lifeline: Literally, a lifeline is a “line to which a drowning or falling victim may cling to.” That is a dictionary description of the word. In the face of a crumbling economy and a continuous decline of the naira, hardly will your job qualify as a lifeline. Even the multinational companies are feeling the heat. . Some of them packed up and have sought fresh air in neighboring countries. Those in the civil service and pensioners are having a tough time getting their dues, and there seems to be no light at the end of the tunnel. It’s time for you to sit up and think. Anything can go wrong. You need to have alternatives, just in case things go awry.

5. The key is what you don’t know: Every lock has its own key. If you really have been hit below the belt by the blows of the economy, maybe it is about time you take another look at what you know. This is because what you know is obviously important than what you do. If what you know is wrong, then it doesn’t matter what you do, no good results can come out of it. Take a second and think; if what you know is effective, would you be still be overwhelmed by the current challenges? Of course not! If you knew what to do to get out of this mess, you will have done it a long time ago. It is time to learn something new. It just might be the saving key that you need. Don’t get rested on what you have always known. Philip Emeagwali said, “Ideas, not money, alleviate poverty.” It is time to seek new solutions and fresh ideas.

Conclussion: Procrastinating if you should start your Online business? Remember the words of Napoleon hills In His Think And Grow Rich, he said "the best time to start is now either you are ready or not because if you are waiting for the right time you will end up never starting.

There are principles that were handed to us by people from the previous generation. These were things they applied repeatedly in their time which worked for them. The problem now is that a lot of those principles have become obsolete and have no place in today’s world. The world has gone way past them.
It can be a very frustrating experience for anyone who keeps trying to apply these principles without recognizing that the rules of the game has changed. It is like trying to beat a dead horse. Some people get so caught up in tradition (the way it has always been done) that they frown at anything new. You will hear them say, “This is how it has always been done” or “this is how I am”. The real question here is: “what if the “YOU” is not working?” “What if HOW it has always been done is not giving you the desired results?”
This is why it is pertinent to re-evaluate what we have believed and make necessary adjustments. Here are five popular principles you should consider for re-evaluation.

1. Good Grades Guarantees Good Jobs:

This statement which was the gospel truth in the eighties and nineties is now a suicidal advice in our time. It was true because very few people were educated during that period, making the educated ones an elite class of some sort. Juxtapose that with our time and you will see how things have changed. You think you are the only one with a certificate now? I’m sorry, but there are hundreds thousands of people with better certificates yet, without jobs. Wake up! This point does not criticize academic success. No, it emphasizes the fact that you need more than good grades to get the life you desire for yourself.

2. Living By the Rules Is Compulsory:

In school, we were all taught to live by rules. Some of the rules were good because they checked against our excesses. But the rest of the rules were horrible. Why? Because they tried to force everybody into thinking and approaching things the same way. Even teachers taught us to solve questions using only their methods. Sometimes, rules can be suffocating. It can kill creativity and destroy ingenuity. This is why so many people now live life within the confines of societal standards. They have things they should do or not do. The real question should be, “is it legal?” If it is, then you need to really think again. Forget the rules and go for any opportunity that comes your way. Thomas Edison, while working on an invention, was told by his assistants about the rules they needed to follow. Thomas replied him, "Damn the rules. We are trying to invent something here."

3. A Job is the Target:

Have you ever heard someone say, “I’m hunting for a job?” It is a popular expression amidst job seekers. I have nothing against looking for a job. The problem is when graduates think that a job is the ultimate. This has made many become prolonged job seekers. Many have lost precious months (and some years) of their lives waiting for a job that never arrived. Since all they see in their mind is a job, they have missed countless opportunities that have crossed their paths. Their desire for quick money has made them lose valuable chances life throws at them .Their hunger for a job has blinded their eyes to the opportunities around them begging to be exploited. Don’t let that be you. If a job is not forthcoming, look around and find an avenue that you can channel your creative abilities into.

4. A Job Means Financial Freedom:

There are people who believe that sitting in an office is a sign that they have financial freedom. I call it the “white-collar job deception”. Nothing can be farther from the truth. You are not financially free because you have a job. Don’t be deceived by the false sense of job security either. It is a mirage, like a pot of gold. The only way to financial freedom is to create a venture of your own. Have a stream of income that is not dependent on your boss or a management board. Create a business of your own that will boost your finance. In that way, even if something goes wrong with your job, you will still be buoyant.

5. You need huge capital to start a business:

Nothing could be farther from the truth. If you believe that you need big money to make money, it is most likely true that you cannot make money. The basic necessity for a business is not money but ideas. Capital will always flow to anybody that has a good business idea and relentlessly acting upon the idea regardless of the obstacles obstructing him. in most cases, if the idea is valid and logical, it will require little capital to start it. Anyone who wants to immediately open a business in a big way most likely will not be able to cope with its growth and magnitude. If you have a business idea, start small. And then nurture it like a baby till it grows. Don't waste your time looking for huge capital.

Conclusively

with the rate of unemployment and underemployment in Nigeria, Nigerians need alternative income generating sources online. this is because, most legitimate online jobs never get saturated and requires a little or no capital. the form of online job that Nigerians have just started becoming aware that it is highly lucrative is affiliate marketing. affiliate marketing is the online business that i personally recommend to any Nigerian that wants to build a passive income source online.

BusinessThings They Told Us That Is No Longer Applicable by importexpert(op): 7:29am On Feb 16, 2017
There are certain things that almost every one of us have heard while growing up. Those who counseled us were doing so in all honesty and arrived at those conclusions because of the situation of things around them. But in our time, the story has changed. What worked then has become obsolete in out generation. Following such advice today is dangerous because the world has evolved beyond such. Here are five things that we were told and how they are no longer applicable.

1. Go to school, get good grades and a job will be waiting for you.

This is one of the worst deception that anybody can believe today. This statement used to be true in 20th century. Very few people were educated and it created a huge need for literate individuals. Today, the table has turned and that advice is a dangerous one to give any young man. The number of educated Nigerians have exploded beyond projections. The number of those that apply for jamb alone is huge. the labor market is saturated is an understatement. Telling anybody this is to set them up for disappointment. There is no job waiting for anyone. If you will eventually get one, you'd better be ready to go "hunting".

2. Live by the rules

We were all taught to live by the rules of the society. Even our schools had rules. We were forced to move within the confines of laid out societal opinions. Our acceptance was dependent on whether we played by the rules. If anyone moved out of it, he was regarded as an outcast irrespective of the results they have. In today's world, anyone living by rules rarely rule their world. The world celebrates those who living outside the rules because this is how creativity and ingenuity is born. Thomas Edison, while working on an invention, was told by his assistants about the rules they were to follow. Thomas replied him, "Damn the rules. We are trying to invent something here." Does that tell you anything?

3. A job is the best thing a graduate can have

Like I said earlier, this used to be true, but not anymore. Sadly, most graduates have not realized that the game has changed. They spend their time trying to get a job. And a good paying job at that. Some of them have lost months and maybe years of their lives while trying to get a job. Do you know why? Because they believe what they needed the most was money. Their hunger for a job has blinded their eyes to the opportunities around them. Their desire for quick money has made them miss valuable opportunities. If what you expect is not forthcoming, look around you. It just may have been there all along, in disguise.

4. Having a white collar job automatically makes you rich

This is largely untrue. Sitting in an air-conditioned office does not necessarily mean that a person is well to do. Go figure how many bankers sit in air-conditioned banking halls but are still broke. The job may meet your needs for the moment, but it is not going to give you money as you desire. Lack of job security has worsened the situation. The best way to become financially buoyant is to create something of yours. Start a business of your own. Build it and watch it grow. This is the surest way to financial freedom.

5. You need huge capital to start a business

Romance10 Types Of Guys You Will See During Valentine by importexpert(op): 11:17pm On Feb 14, 2017
Valentine is here again and the saying goes, it is the season of love. There are people whose sense of smell will suddenly become super active that they will keep repeating "love in the air". I'm not going to argue with them at all. Usually, there ought to be exchange of gifts, but as we all know, our economy is not smiling. This has made a lot of guys to find a way to handle this national disaster that has arrived in the name of "Valentine". Here are ten types of guys you will see during Valentine.

1. Those that are preparing for Valentine:

You can refer to them as the big boys. They are the ones that are preparing big for this Valentine celebration. It is as if they are not affected by the economy. How do you know them? They are the ones that will buy cars, sponsor a shopping spree or vacation abroad, all as Valentine gifts. This category makes it tough for other guys. Unfortunately, these kind of guys are rare in this period.

2. Those with problems:

This is the time you will hear some guys start telling their girlfriends of some problems they are having. It is not like they have not been saying it before. It is just that they have to stress it till bae does no have any expectation of them. You will hear of container that is still on the sea or salary that is being delayed or business that has not clicked. Dear sister, just commit the matter into God's hands and take heart. Nothing for you this Valentine.

3. Those who will celebrate it in church:

Don't be surprised if a guy starts talking about the Valentine service their just is planning. That's when you will start hearing, "baby, let's go for Valentine splash. Pastor invited me specially." Is it not obvious? The church is like the last hope. They may not be committed members, but the recession has made them remember that God is love.

4. Those who would watch football match:

Do the maths. Football in a viewing center is #200. Date with girlfriend is #6000 or more depending on taste. And that money is aside the main gift for her. Which one is more economical? The football of course. Since there are football matches today, you will hear some guys say, "baby, prove your love to me by watching this game with me". We all know the reason is not about love.

5. Those who will fall sick:

If you think this measure is extreme, then you have no idea what some guys can do.They have been planning for days on how to fall sick and which sickness is best for them. The funny thing is they will tell their girlfriends that they will feel better without treatment. The trick is to discourage their girl from asking a sick man for gift. If she is very courageous to ask, they may tell her, "baby, I have bought some expensive drugs to treat myself. Doctor said each dose is #10000" grin.

6. Those who will travel:

In as much as a guy and his girl are in town, there is a big tendency that they will meet one way or the other. The best thing they can possibly do is announce that they have to travel urgently because something just came up. If you believe them, then you are on your own. The only place they can really travel to maybe their friend's place in the next street or estate. Anything to just escape today.

7. Those who will be MIA:

This is one thing you should not rule out from what guys will possibly do today. On this day, you will hear of flat tire, bad traffic, flat battery, or whatever. They will just suddenly vanish into thin air. Don't let this alarm you If your man is like this. He will reappear the following day, but today? Mba, he's MIA- Missing In Action

8. The blunt guys:

This set of guys are the real brave- hearted men. They will simply tell their girlfriend straight up not to expect anything. No outing. No surprises. No gifts. Either you hear, "Valentine is not a real celebration because there is no public holiday for it" or ",we will celebrate it next year". Either ways, they are very courageous to look bae into the eyes and tell her not to expect anything. If there is any celebration in their dictionary, it may be only in the "other room". grin

9. Those who will have problems with their girlfriends:

It is the usual strategy because it has been tested and trusted. Some guys have decided that no matter how nice their girl is, they must quarrel. It is the only way out for them to escape expenses. She may try her best to avoid any issue, but when a guy looks for faults, he must see one. That's when you will hear something like, "why did you leave the floor on the floor grin?"

10. Those without girlfriends:

These are the blessed guys in this season. They don't have to worry about spending or trying to impress anybody. Their money is for them alone. If it about dinner, they will have dinner with themselves. If it is about cinema, they will see a movie in their house. If it is about happiness? They will have enough time to rest and sleep. They are just one category that many guys will envy.
