We can only expect some level of similarities in

I have read people blame Emefiele the CBN governor for the dwindling naira value but I disagree and wonder what brings about that conclusion.

My understanding of what weakens a currency is that of overall export-import differences whereby more value is lost to import than what's gained from export.
And we all know Emefiele doesn't have influence of import or export directly.

A strong example is that of bandits, farmers and the FG.
Bandits kidnap farmers, extort them and end up driving up their production cost. This makes their produce less profitable internationally and reduces inflow of crucial forex. The demand for for is directed to CBN by farmers who need machines, equipments, inputs, or seedlings from international market thereby leading to higher demand for limited forex in the hands of CBN. This drives prices up and thus weaken the naira. In all of this, I cannot see where Emefiele is responsible for any factor affecting forex.

So u were not aware that the the Naira was intentional devalued by the CBN in conjunction with the presidency for more than one occasion.
