EducationStrike: N30bn To be Shared Between ASUU, Nasu, Ssanu, Others — Fg by Inda2020(op): 8:21am On Oct 22, 2020
Strike: N30bn earned allowance to be shared between ASUU,
NASU, SSANU, others — FG October 22, 2020 2 min read
A meeting between the government and ASUU had decided that
a sum of N30 billion will be paid as part of the unpaid earned
allowance to workers.
The federal government has said that the contentious earned
allowances, promised to be released for the striking Academic
Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), will also be shared with
non-academic staff unions.
A meeting between the negotiating teams of the government
and ASUU, last week, held to put a stop to the six-month old
strike, resolved that a sum of N30 billion will be paid as part of
the unpaid earned allowance to workers.
Meanwhile, after a meeting with representatives of the non-
academics on Wednesday, it was agreed that the monies will
be shared between the National Association of Academic
Technologists (NAAT), Senior Staff Association of Nigerian
Universities (SSANU), and Non Academic Staff Union of
Educational and Associated Institutions (NASU).
“On the matter of non-payment of earned allowances, the
meeting resolved that the recipients of the N30 billion, earlier
agreed on with the Academic Staff Union of Universities
(ASUU), would include all the unions in the university sector,”
said the spokesperson of the Ministry of Labour, Charles
Akpan Wednesday.
Mr Allan said that the unions would work with the Office of the
Accountant-General of the Federation, National University
Commission (NUC) and Federal Ministry of Education to
achieve that by the end of December 2020.
FG sets up resolution committee
As concluded at the meeting on Wednesday, the federal
government has set up a five-person committee to resolve the
inconsistencies in payment of salaries of the non-academic
staff members of universities.
The joint action committee of SSANU and NASU had
embarked on a 14-day warning strike between October 5 and
October 19 to call the attention of the federal government to
their demands.
It was agreed that the committee would examine the
complaints of the unions on inconsistencies in their payments
by the Integrated Payroll and Personnel Information System
(IPPIS).
The membership of the five-person committee is drawn from
the National Salaries Income and Wages Commission, Federal
Ministry of Labour and Employment, IPPIS, National
Universities Commission and Office of the Head of Civil
Service of the Federation.
The committee was given two weeks to carry out the
assignment and ensure that IPPIS worked with the unions to
identify and pay those who had not been paid.
It would also identify those whose check off dues had been
deducted but not remitted.
“To facilitate the work of the committee, the unions were
requested to forward the necessary data to IPPIS, as well as
submit the necessary documents on the issue of welfare, to
assist IPPIS make deductions, on or before Friday, 23 October,
2020.”
Minimum wage arrears, others
Regarding the arrears of minimum wage, the meeting agreed
that the Office of the Accountant-General of the Federation
would compute the arrears from April 2019 – January 2020
and forward to the Federal Ministry of Education to process
for payment through the Federal Ministry of Finance.
A timeline of two weeks was given to complete the
processing.
Also, the meeting resolved that the committee on the
renegotiation of the 2009 Agreements between FGN/NASU and
SSANU would be reconstituted on or before October 31, 2020
and renegotiation concluded in the same period.
Regarding the matter of teaching staff usurping non-teaching
units in violation of conditions of service and establishment
procedures, the unions were directed to write to the NUC, and
the commission requested to act on the letter within two
weeks.
“The meeting agreed that the NUC Act would be amended to
strengthen its regulatory capacity; and also agreed that the
visitation panels for universities would be inaugurated not later
than the end of November, 2020 with a four-to-six week
mandate to finish its work by 31st December, 2020 subject to
the gazetting and opening of universities and submit two
reports per University covering 5 year periods of 2011 – 2015
and 2016 – 2020.”
The Minister of Labour and Employment, Chris Ngige, stated
that the visitation panels had already been approved by
President Muhammadu Buhari and that the Federal Ministry of
Education would ensure its gazetting within two weeks (29
October, 2020), the spokesperson said

Christianity EtcRe: Pastor Adeboye: Lekki Toll Gate Massacre Could Complicate Things by Inda2020: 7:56am On Oct 22, 2020
Chapii:
Adeboye should go and die. People like him kept us where we are now. Does he not know that Nigeria needs restructuring in 2015, does he not know that Buhari is evil but because his son is VP he used sentiment to kick GEJ out now he is telling us of restructuring. Does he not know how pained we were when he visited Buhari in London? Now Buhari have used them (Adeboye, Tinubu Osinbajo etc) to win re-election and now place them in their rightful place, they are shouting restructuring and sponsoring protest. Where was Adeboye when all the massacre in Benue, Plateau etc was ongoing? Thunder will fire Adeboye and Co.
Modified.
Adeboye cannot tell us that blocking major highways completely and defyin curfew is peaceful protest. Soldiers that went to Lekki toll gate did not go there to stop protest, protesters have been there for over 2 weeks, they went there to enforce a curfew. I condemn live bullets but that was the only option available to the gov't seeing how violence have taken over the protest. What do you expect a gov't to do when policemen are being killed, police stations being burnt etc. They had to find the easy way out. We need law and order for now. In 2023 we will be wise enough to choose a better President.

SportsRe: Barcelona REFUSE To Hold Meeting With Lionel Messi Unless For A New Contract by Inda2020: 4:50pm On Aug 30, 2020
OkikiOluwa1:
My opinion: Messi can just quietly see out his one year and get a good send forth next season. The case he's dragging is dicey. If Barca comes out to explain to the world what they v been offering him in the past, everyone ll see him as n ungrateful son.
Messi's playing the silence game to blackmail Barca. That's how he always do to make people believe he's a saint.
Barcelona is saving Messi's image by not coming out publicly to reveal the full details of Messi's contract. The day they talk, Messi ll be hated by every naive Barca fans who thinks Messi is being witch hunted.
Does he think they can't win cups again?

The logical explanation.
1. Messi should respect the club n see out his contract. He's seen as a gentle lamb. Dies he think Barca can't win cups anymore? Where's his lotalty & helping out Barca in crisis

2. No matter what's the crime of Bartomeau, he has ran Barca with his best abilities. He even. Offered Messi at his age huge contract that warranted that huge buyout clause. Messi enjoyed the wages when he's paid. He should not be an ungrateful son. Nobody is hating him at Barcelona so why start something that ll cause hate to him from fans very soon. He's now acting disloyal for not returning to training.

3. If it's CR7 that acted this way, his criticism ll v topped all major newspapers worldwide.
Most people ll say he's proud, he's bad, he's a cheat etc. Now it's Messi that acting immature here and like an over pampered boy.
