That asides, the issue of taking wage-cuts was a contentious issue @ the time. Ex-players criticised the compulsion of clubs to do that, hence, I remember Messi as Captain saying it was their own little commitment towards contributing for the fight against COVID-19.

That asides, Messi has done well for the club, they will seek a favourable position. It isn't really direct to say the club should let a Messi go for free.... Absolutely NOT.

Of course he can't go for free. But saying contract is contract when we all know season ended this month due to Covid 19 is inhuman. We always want things to Favour us all the time. Since players contract and payment were affected due to the pandemic, I don't see a reason why the club should still insist on a contract dated May when the season was supposed to end. Saying a club should roll out 600+m at this period is like saying you are not ready to sale.
FFP will always be on the lookout for clubs who rollout that kindof cash at the moment
