Politics › Northern Groups Endorse Tinubu For President. by Indispensable85(op): 10:07am On Oct 27, 2022
PRESS RELEASE

2023: Northern Business Leaders, Kano Academic Community, Tijjaniyyah, Ahlus Sunnah, Kadirriyyah Movement, Kano League of Imams, Others Endorse Tinubu

It was endorsement galore for the All Progressives Congress Presidential Candidate, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, in the commercial city of Kano last weekend as Tinubu and his entourage visited the state on campaign tour.

Among the critical stakeholders in the state who endorsed the presidential aspiration of the APC candidate were the Northern Business Leaders, Kano Academic Community, Tijjaniyyah, Ahlus Sunnah, Kadirriyyah Movement, Kano League of Imams, Muslim Students Society of Nigeria, Zone A and the leadership of the Christian Association of Nigeria in the state.

The APC presidential candidate who arrived in the state on Saturday and left on Monday was accompanied among others by the National Chairman of APC, Senator Abdullahi Adamu, Vice Presidential Candidate, Senator Kashim Shettima, Director-General of the campaign and Plateau State Governor, Rt Hon. Simon Bako Lalong, members of the party’s National Working Committee and at least seven governors of the party.

Among them were Chairman of the Progressives Governors’ Forum and Kebbi State Governor Atiku Bagudu, Jigawa State Governor Abubakar Badaru, Governor Bello Matawalle (Zamfara), Governor Dapo Abiodun (Ogun) and Governor Babajide Sanwo-olu (Lagos).

Endorsing Asiwaju Tinubu at the dinner with the Business Leaders and Captains of Industry, the Chairman, Kano Business Community Council, Alhaji Rabiu Bako, said the APC candidate stood out among the presidential contenders because of his deep understanding of the economy, private sector background and track record as Lagos governor. He said Tinubu is better placed to rebuild the economy and place it on a pedestal for steady growth.

While also endorsing the APC presidential candidate, Sheikh Bashir Tijjani Usman Zangon Bareebah, who spoke on behalf of the Tijjaniyyah sect, urged Asiwaju Tinubu to prioritise security and safety of the people, increase megawatt of electricity to power the economy, reposition agriculture and give due attention to education.

He also sought for inclusion of Tijjaniyyah members in top government appointments and assistance in the building of Tijjaniyyah University under construction in Kano.

In its declaration of support for the APC candidate, the Nigeria Academic Community Forum in Kano, in a communiqué signed by its Chairman, Prof. Shehu Alhaji Musa, and General Secretary, Malan Sani Mohammed, and presented to Tinubu, said the forum was moved to back him because of his concern for the down-trodden, transparency, accountability, integrity and selflessness.

“Some of the fundamental considerations for our endorsement of your candidature also included your past records of achievements in service at state and national levels,” the forum added.

In separate sessions with the APC candidate at the African Hall of Kano State Government House, other associations which endorse Tinubu and wished him well in the 2023 election included Ahlus Sunnah, Kadirriyyah Movement, Kano League of Imams, Muslim Students Society of Nigeria, Zone A and the leadership of the Christian Association of Nigeria.

Responding to the various groups, Tinubu thanked them for the endorsements, saying he had noted their words of encouragements and demands.
He promised to do all in his capacity to justify the confidence repose in him and move the country to greater heights.

I have always known that Obaseki is not different from the average Nigerian politician. It's just the same as Peter Obi. They're both green snakes. Edo has been on autopilot since Obaseki was sworn in for second term. Nothing developmental is going on. Other governors are commissioning projects but he's busy going about as a tyrant. He won't end well that's for sure.

garfield1:
Alhaji Garba Tozai, a Special Assistant to Gov. Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto state, and Garba Araga, the Vice Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Isa Local Government Area have joined the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The defectors joined the APC alongside scores of their supporters, according to a statement issued in Sokoto on Saturday by Bashar Abubakar, the Special Adviser, New Media to Sen. Aliyu Wamakko (APC- Sokoto North).

Abubakar quoted the former PDP Vice Chairman, who spoke on behalf of the other defectors as saying that their decision was in consideration of the reputation of the APC stakeholders in the state.

“We are confident that with the current development in our zone, the PDP has become history.

“Today, in APC, we have our leader retired Col. Garba Moyi, who was a former Commissioner in the present PDP-led administration.

“Moreover, with Alhaji Ibrahim Lamido as APC Senatorial candidate of our zone, there ids no doubt that our tears will be wiped,” he said

Araga further commended Wamakko, the APC leader in the state, and pledged that they will collectively work together towards ensuring the victory of the party in the 2023 elections.

In a related development, the party had received a score of PDP defectors at Gadanbe town of Katami Southward of Silame LGA.

Receiving the new members, APC Caretaker in the area, Alhaji Dalhatu Dantama, and a chieftain, Alhaji Abubakar Rana, assured them of equal treatment with other members of the party...

wonder233:
To feed your fantasy, you deliberately try to say the candidate doesn't matter, that people automatically vote for the party they've always voted for.
CPC a new obscure party came overall second in 2011 in the presidential election and won majority votes in the north that had always voted either PDP or ANPP. What made that happen? The candidature of Buhari.
It is the same fervency the candidature of Peter Obi is sweeping the southeast and southsouth. If northerners in the largely uneducated north can tell the difference between party and candidate, then you're the biggest clown of the century if you think those in the south cannot.
It truly didn't take me time to know I was conversing with a political neophyte with a near empty skull. It is the height of foolishness to compare Obi to Buhari in this regard. Buhari has been winning major sections of the core north consistently and so it's quite predictable what the outcome will be like with him on the ballot. But this is Peter Obi contesting to be the president of Nigeria for the very first time. So where are you drawing your predictions from? A foolish and baseless assumption from your tiny brain I guess? You think winning election is just marching on the streets? Nonsense!

Okay, Ibos in the east will massively vote Atiku because historically since 1999, they've always voted PDP.
Doesn't this make you a joker?
You're the obvious joker here can't you see?
You're grabbing on straw by assuming what has no previous records in the political history of Nigeria. Continue with your fantasy and baseless assumption.

Hahahahahahahaaa the fallacy that esan people are "born pdp". Esan people, just like ibo people supported pdp when it was just pdp and APC, but now, the dynamic is different. Using your logic of "born pdp", that means the ibos will vote Atiku na cos they've always voted pdp.
This is why I say you guys should stop fantasy analysis
The fantasy is on you really. I speak from already existing facts and records on ground since 1999. You're only hoping that it will change for the first time next year. So who's fantasizing?

Benin City metropolis of Oredo, Egor and Ikpoba-Okha constitute the largest voting bloc, This has even extended to Uhumwode. Is it Orhiomwon or the two Ovias that will vote APC or the full Edo central, the ishans who we in Edo state regard as the "ibos" of Edo state that will vote APC? These people are fanatically obedient. You guys keep looking at Edo north and Oshiomhole. Maybe you're mistaking Edo for Kogi because of the boundary at that axis. I'm from Owan, APC and the Oshiomhole factor isn't what it was in 2008. People have since moved on. Edo is fully for Obi
Peter Obi can't win anywhere outside the Benin metropolis. The esan people are born pdp fanatics. Edo north is Apc stronghold. This is the fact on ground in Edo State. The suburbs of Benin will be shared between pdp and Apc.
