Ghanaian UK-based Gospel musician, Sonnie Badu, took to his Instagram page to share the beautiful story of how he went from being a university cleaner to bagging two honorary doctorate degrees. Sonnie is also a UN Ambassador of Sacred Music and he is a recipient of Key to the City of Brooklyn, New York.

I have worked as a cleaner in London before. I used to clean universities while my age mates were studying. I have also worked as a burger flipper in McDonald’s. I have worked in Tescos, boots, dixon’s, jones boot makers and being homeless before. I wore one suite to church, however it never stopped me from loving God because I understood times and seasons. At a point the mother of a young girl I wanted to marry in London told me never to step foot into their house simply because I had nothing to my name .. I think she provoked something in me. Today by the grace of God, I am a CEO of almost 10 companies, with an honorary Doctorate, a UN ambassador with an honorary key to the city of Brooklyn, an author of 15 books, 3 smashing albums under my record, happily married to a beautiful queen and God has blessed me with 2 kids .. so when I tell you don’t give up, pls hear me .. you are next in line for Gods breakthrough.

A man is filled with thanks and appreciation after he and his wife survived a horrific motor accident in Ikeja, Lagos. The man identified as Imuzeze Enahoro and his beautiful wife, Ife on Saturday, April 29, were rescued miraculously after being involved in the multiple accident .

The husband hours later took to his Facebook wall to thank God for sparing his life and that of his wife with the caption:

What a great God we serve. With his miraculous hands he saved my wife and I from a ghastly accident yesterday morning on Kudirat Abiola way. God's mercy prevailed over our lives and we thank God that we are still alive. Just help us to give all praises to God who delivered us from the hands of death. Hallelujah...

According to an online report, a woman identified as Mama Arafa who lives in Naibawa, Kano state has brutally maltreated her 10-year-old nephew after pressing a hot iron on his chest over an allegation of theft. According to Aishat Alubankudi, the boy would sometimes sleep outside which puts him at risk of all forms of abuse particularly sexual abuse.

This is another recent act of her inhumanity, Mama Arafa pressed a hot iron on Fawaz's chest over an allegation of thefy. She lives in Naibawa, kano. A young boy identified as Michael as landed at the Burns unit National Hospital, Abuja after being involved in a fire mishap at his home. The boy suffered 67% burns. So sad! According to reports, the fire mishap occurred after a neighbour was fuelling her generator set in the process fuel spilt on him..

Being a little boy that he is (ignorant), he never knew the gravity of what’s about to happen to him when he got home his mum asked him to bring the candle from the sitting room. Little did she know that his cloth had sprinkles of fuel on it that’s how disaster happened and his cloth caught fire.

Micheal suffered burns on his face, chest, arms and hands....

Nigerian-born Former England and Aston Villa defender Ugo Ehiogu was honoured before Tottenham's FA Cup semi-final with Chelsea at Wembley and at football matches around the country. Ehiogu died at the age of 44 on Friday after suffering a cardiac arrest at Spurs' training centre on Thursday.

Players wore black armbands and held a minute's applause before kick-off.

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has successfully test fired 30.1mm ground to air Inert Head Rockets locally produced by its Research and Development Team. The rockets were test fired during the Weapons Meet at Kwenev Air Range, Makurdi to commemorate the 53rd anniversary celebration of the NAF.

Also produced by the NAF R& D were the ground based rail launcher and vehicle mounted rail rocket launcher. The rocket launchers are fired through a remotely controlled firing based system. Aside from the display of air defence weapon, there was also a spectacular demonstration of weapon delivery by some of the NAF platforms.

The aircraft fired both rockets and canons with high level of precision. A total of 4 NAF aircraft participated in the weapons meet with each arriving over the range with a spacer pass at 200ft for the helicopters and 300ft for the jets. The participating aircraft included Augusta 109 LUH with backdoor gunner, L-39ZA, Alpha Jet and F-7Ni.

The exercise was aimed at sharpening the targeting skills of NAF pilots to acquire and engage targets as well as test the precision of the aircraft in hitting the targets. Four designated targets were identified and the formations attacked the targets one after the other starting with cobra, tiger and aggressor formations.

In his remarks at the occasion, the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Gabriel Olonishakin felicitated with the NAF on its 53rd anniversary celebration and commended the commitment of the current NAF leadership for improving the capacity of officers and men. “Today, I am proud to declare that the NAF has lived up to expectation. This sequencing, airmanship and accurate delivery of firepower from the various platforms that participated at the Air Weapons Meet are highly commendable”.

Gen Olonishakin also disclosed that Nigeria can boast of an Air Force that can deliver appropriate air power as witnessed in the North East where the NAF air interdiction, ground attack and close air support missions played a pivotal role in the counter-terrorism/insurgency operations.

The said Terwase Akwaza aka Ghana is wanted for merciless killings of seventeen (17) innocent persons and wanton destruction of properties worth millions of naira by arson, at Zaki Biam on 20th March 2017 and for killings in cold blood of about fifty (50) people in other locations in Benue State. He is culpable for other capital offences such as Kidnapping, Armed robbery, Culpable Homicide, Mischief by Fire and Criminal Conspiracy. Further investigation revealed that he is also responsible for killing of Mr. Deneen Igbana (late) the Special Adviser on Security to the Executive Governor of Benue State, Chief Samuel Ortom.

3. He is dark in complexion, tall, stout in built and has no tribal mark on his face.

4. Terwase Akwaza aka Ghana is a dangerous suspect, and an indigene of Gbise in Katsina-Ala LGA of Benue State. He speaks Tiv, Idoma and Pigin English Languages fluently.

Residents were surprised and confused to see over 40 brides walking on the road in their wedding gowns this afternoon in Owerri, Imo state. The war against crime and criminality in Kogi State took another turn today following the demolition of the fortress in Odu owned by the armed robber and kidnapper Zakari Yau known for terrorizing Kogi east. According to the chief press secretary to Kogi State Governor, Petra Onyegbule, who was on site during the demolition, there are 11 pedestrian gates in the building excluding the main gate.

The massive building was brought down with police operatives on ground to provide security.
