The Nigerian striker, Osaze Odemwingie, has joined the league of players heading to play club football in Indonesia. Odemwingie on Monday after a successful medical was signed on to Indonesian first division club, Madura United FC. The club on Monday confirmed the signing of Odemwingie as a marquee player for the 2017 League 1 season.

During the unveiling ceremony for Odemwingie in Jakarta on Monday, the President of the club Achsanul Qosasi and the club manager Haruna Sumitro presented the former Nigerian international to the club fans ahead of their league opener. Odemwingie was unveiled to the media in Jakarta on Monday afternoon.

The event was convered on the club's official Twitter account - which posted a picture of Odemwingie front and centre of the stage. But there was something that people couldn't but notice: just how downcast he looks about the whole thing.

A polytechnic in Lagos has produced its first prototype of a drone. Lagos City authorities have said, if developed fully, the state could employ the drones for security surveillance.

A talented 17-year-old David Opateyibo heads up the development of a drone which authorities in Lagos hope to deploy for security surveillance. The drone, a high breed mix of existing drone components and locally fabricated material, seems to fly normally but David says there is a lot more room for improvement.

“Aside from using drones for aerial surveillance, you can also use them for aerial photography and videography, or for broadcasting, incidence control or pipeline and power line inspection. You can also use drones in agriculture, to analyze farm produce,” David said in an interview.

My heart goes out for these "unrecognized IDPs".. Today at 12:45 fire burnt down Ganyeri IDP settlement by old maiduguri junction. As I write NEMA nor SEMA has not visited them. I heard mothers and even men are weeping they have be stripped of their dignity, no shelter, no cloths, no food.

Nigerians have been left confused after governor Seriake Dickson of Bayelsa state paid for a newspaper advert to wish a happy 65th birthday to Bola Tinubu, the national leader of the All Progressives Congress APC. This makes it the second governor (after Fayose) of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP to sent a shout out publicly to the APC leader.

The General Superintendent Rev Dr Chidi Okoroafor led other officers to Evangel House in Enugu on Wednesday evening to take over the church’s national secretariat from the former General Superintendent, Rev. Paul Emeka. According to reports, Emeka refused to vacate his office in the secretariat, and continued to parade himself as General Superintendent, after his removal by the church’s General Council on March 6, 2014.

Initial attempts by the new General Superintendent of the church, Rev. Paul Okoroafor, and other leaders of the church, to recover the national secretariat were thwarted by Emeka, who again went to court to insist that he was the church’s leader.

Violence was, however, averted as the police cordoned off the streets around the secretariat, after arresting some of Emeka’s loyalists. The arrested persons, were led away in handcuffs, included a woman.

The fourth person who was shot by the killer ex-police officer, Wilson Ufere, last Thursday along Anara - Umuahia expressway in the Isiala Mbano Local Government Area of Imo State, Chigozi Iwuala has woken up from coma. The trigger-happy police­man, Sergeant Wil­son Ufere was dismissed from the Police Force for shooting four un­armed youths, and killing 16-year-old Obinna Iwuoha instantly in Imo State.

Ufere, had last Thursday at about 5:30pm at Ugwu Omiri Lawyer area, on the busy Anara-Umuahia Ex­pressway while on a road duty with two other col­leagues, shot at a group of youths on a church proces­sion. He killed Iwuoha in­stantly, and left three others gravely wounded.

A man from Ekeremor Local Government Area, Bayelsa State reportedly committed suicide early this morning on Vanguard Street off Imgbi Road, Yenagoa. According to Michael Onyedikachi, the man hanged himself out of frustration arising from family pressure -leaving behind his six children and his wife.

Senator Dino Melaye who is in the center of a certificate scandal has received support from some Nigerians who claimed to have served in the same NYSC camp with him in Kaduna. The senator shared a copy of his National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) certificate which showed that he started the programme on 9th July 2000 and finished on 8th July 2001 following his graduation from Ahmadu Bello University ABU Zaria.

A twitter user has shared a copy of his original NYSC discharge certificate online in order to shed more light on some sketchy details on the certificate like the camp resumption date 9th July 2000 which was on a Sunday -an unofficial day (as NYSC camp resumes only on working days). According to the twitter user whose own resumption date was 8th July (which was on Saturday -also an unofficial date), they resumed the camp on 10th that's Monday but the NYSC officials decided to date it 9th....

Our members of CJTF Dikwa local government on 26th march 2017 on their way coming back from operation climbed on an EID and the car got exploded, where we lost two of our members and three among them got injured of which are currently receiving treatment at state specialist hospital Maiduguri, Borno state.

we also condole and sympathize with the family of those who lost their lives in the incident.

Furthermore we convey our appreciation to ICRC for their quick respond on the treatment of our members.we pray for those who sustained injury haste recovery and May the departed souls rest in peace.

The men of Ogun state police command has arrested two men namely Adigun John a.k.a akoto and Idowu kalejaye for armed robbery. The two men were arrested on the 23rd Of March following a distress call received by policemen attached to Ogijo Divisional Headquarters that robbery operation was going on in a bakery at Eyita area consequent upon which the DPO SP Tijani Muhammad led his Anti robbery team to the scene and engaged the robbers in shoot out.

At the end of the encounter, the two suspects were arrested one locally made cut to size gun was recovered from them.

The suspects robbed the owner Of the bakery one Taiwo Ogunyemi of sum of two thousands naira and a Nokia handset, they also robbed a customer one Bose Agboola of the sum of fifteen thousands naira.

The commissioner of police CP Ahmed Iliyasu has ordered the immediate transfer of the suspects to FSARS for discreet investigation.
