Technology Market / Blackberry Users Will No Longer Have Whatsapp by InovativeCritic: 10:29pm On Feb 29, 2016
When we started WhatsApp in 2009, people’s use of mobile devices looked very different from today. The Apple App Store was only a few months old. About 70 per cent of smartphones sold at the time had operating systems offered by BlackBerry and Nokia,” read the blog post.

By the end of 2016, the company said it will end support for BlackBerry – including BlackBerry 10, the company’s latest operating system – along with Nokia S40, Nokia Symbian S60, Android 2.1 and Android 2.2 and Windows Phone 7.1

“While these mobile devices have been an important part of our story, they don’t offer the kind of capabilities we need to expand our app’s features in the future,” said the company.

So what do you do if you use BlackBerry and rely on WhatsApp for messaging?

According to the company, the answer is simple – stop using BlackBerry. The blog post concluded users should upgrade to a “newer Android, iPhone, or Windows Phone” before the end of the year in order to keep using its services.

But the move could mark yet another nail in the coffin for BlackBerry’s own operating system.

Over the years, as BlackBerry has lost its market share to Android and iPhone, its main criticism has been a lack of apps. Facebook-owned WhatsApp app is one of the most commonly used on the smartphone market, boasting over 900 million users sending over 10 billion messages a day.

The ailing Waterloo, Ont.-based smartphone maker has recently switched its focus to building Android phones.

In November, the company launched the BlackBerry Priv – an Android-run BlackBerry handset that focuses on security. Aside from unique design features – including the slide-out QWERTY keyboard and flashing LED notification light that BlackBerry has become well-known for – the company’s developers modified the operating system to add some of BlackBerry’s strengths.

While reviews for the device were favourable overall, it failed to create the hype the company needed.

Mansa Musa The Wealthiest Man that ever lived was an African
Mansa Musa, 14th-century emperor of the Mali Empire, is the medieval African ruler most known to the world outside Africa.

African King Musa Keita I is thought to be the richest person of all time — "richer than anyone could describe,"
Musa Keita I came into power in 1312. When he was crowned, he was given the name Mansa, meaning king. At the time, much of Europe was famished and in the middle of civil wars, but many African kingdoms were thriving.
His leadership of Mali, a state that stretched across 2,000 miles from the Atlantic Ocean to Lake Chad and which included all or parts of the modern nations of Mauritania, Senegal, Gambia, Guinea, Burkina Faso, Mali, Niger, Nigeria and Chad, ensured decades of peace and prosperity in West Africa.
He became the first Muslim ruler in West Africa to make the nearly 4,000-mile journey to Mecca.
While in power, Mansa Musa expanded the borders of his empire tremendously. He annexed the city of Timbuktu and reestablished power over Gao. All in all, his empire stretched about 2,000 miles.

On his stop in Cairo, he spent so much gold and donated so much money to the poor that he caused mass inflation! It would take years for the city to fully recover from the currency crisis.
Upon his return from Mecca, Musa brought Arab scholars, government bureaucrats and architects.
Among those who returned with him was the architect Ishaq El Teudjin, who introduced advanced building techniques to Mali.
He designed numerous buildings for the emperor, including a new palace named Madagou, the mosque at Gao, the second largest city in Mali, and the still-standing great mosque at Timbuktu, the largest city in the empire. That mosque was named the Djinguereber.
El Teudjin’s most famous design was the emperor’s chamber at the Malian capital of Niani.
Musa’s pilgrimage boosted Islamic education in Mali by adding mosques, libraries and universities.

After reigning for 25 years, Mansa Musa died in 1337. He was succeeded by his son, Maghan I. "The king's rich legacy persisted for generations and to this day, there are mausoleums, libraries, and mosques that stand as a testament to this golden age of Mali's history,"

@InovativeCritic
IGBO Enwe Eze is a word misinterpreted and misunderstood!
IGBOS had monarchies even b4 the coming of the white man and also mixed it up with a democracy style with Ndi Ichie as senators.
- The Oldest Kingdom in Nigeria history is NRI KINGDOM founded by IGBOS and ruled by Eze Nri.
Nri is the birthplace of Igbo Civillization(IGBO UKWU)
Eze Nri Enwealana II Onyeso, CFR is the current and reigning Eze Nri and custodian of Igbo Culture, Religion and Deities.

....
- Aro, Nnewi, Aguleri, Onitcha are Pre colonial Igbo Kingdoms.
- We practise both Monarchy and also Democratic style even before the white man came.

More wonderful news continues to fly across social media platform about this blessed lady, but its just a matter of time before a ''man of god'' springs up from somewhere claiming that she had been fasting for a hundred days with their church that's why all this break through came forth.

But her tales teaches us all a lesson that many churches prefer to avoid which Gods Grace is free of charge. You don not have to weep, fast, give the greatest tithe nor wear clothes of ashes before the Lord will shine on you.

I wish they interview her so we can learn more about her lifestyle that pleased God to Bless her in a new way.

Its just ironic that she cant read, so she may avoid all the bad things some haters are saying about her and enjoy the free gift of Grace via our Lord Jesus Christ, The Amen.

http://innovativecritic..com.ng/2016/02/rmd-man-who-made-linda-ikeji.html

Its is said behind every great man is a greater woman, but in this scenario its the reverse.
Lets take you all to 2012, Linda Ikeji became famous, the once model has turn millionaire blogger thanks to the rep of RMD.

Before then no one knew what a linda ikeji is, nor what her blog stood for; but out of fear or being overly cautious RMD attacked her for her poorly researched post and this caught everyones attention; a whole RMD attacking a then clueless lindaikeji? WOW!

Boom Boom!! Traffic came coming to her and since then we know the rest of the story

The question now is shouldn't RMD sue her for some reason or the other, I mean this woman has bought a home in Banana Island costing between $1-$6 million and yet she wanted to drag his name in the mud for buying a house of barely N250 Million. Mstwww...Chicken change compared to Linda's standard now.

At least if he cant get to file a suit against her, she should at least pay him homage..lol

Reference to this story to see how little was known about her back then

In recent news your forgotten leader, Kanu had to put up an act, so he can be remembered by his fair whether supporters that are only aggressive online and not offline. Its a pitiful state he is in; the wild horses he rode on have taken him to a place I doubt he is pleased with.

Igbo enwe Eze (The Igbo have no King)
This is a common phrase in the eastern part of Nigeria, one every Igbo man should be proud of cause it implies the Igbo people embraced the concept of equality and democracy before any other ethnic group in Africa that had Kings.

Then again this tells us an issue with succession they might have. If the eastern group of Nigeria should ever successfully exit this country. They will be plagued by internal wars on who to lead the new nation forward, it would be the case of Libya, where all the people united only for a common goal to dethrone Gaddafi and after that was achieved they entered turmoil because they didn't have an adequate plan.

The Igbos boost about how industrious, united they are as a people, how their leaders support them and vice versa.
Hence when they felt marginalized by the current administration, they deemed it fit to exit the country with pride and honor. Yet that's false, this administration placed two extremely fundamental offices in the hands of two the Igbos or at least the easterners i.e Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Emmanuel Ibe Kachikwu and Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Governor, Mr. Godwin Emefiele.

I advise all my eastern brothers to stop placing comments on Facebook and other social networking sites unless you have precise goal after your exodus from this country unless you seal the fate of Libya as your own.

What did you learn from your first attempt?, Nothing? . Take a moment and think about how wealthy the eastern people would have been if they remain part of Nigeria when Oil was discovered. If they didnt not try to exit the country, they would have been welcomed to the table when the Oil wells where being shared and most wouldn't have gone to the North.

Your failed plot crumbled your generation, now the real Bread was shared among the wealthy while your people where impoverished by the shrewdness of the Gowon Administration were given crumbs.

Do not blame the Administration at that time, but blame yourselves and learn from the lesson of greed that handicapped your people; wanting all the Oil to yourselves left you with nothing but crumbs. Even your leader went on exile and later came back to run for Office of the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, a country he almost destroyed but failed to win and later died as a Nigerian. He famously said that leading the Igbos was like trying to tame a wild horse.

If you ever do succeed, be aware that for the first 20 years foreign investment and forms of international borrowing wouldn't be an option also prepare internal stresses that could lead to a civil war within your new.

In conclusion have a justified reason and plan why you want to live this country and where you are going to with steps on how you are going to reach there.

Recently Indians were asked to make a choice between Half Bread or Nothing and they choose the irrational option ''Nothing''.

So lets take a closer look, shall we. Facebook offered Indians less interneted connected population something call Free Basic and the Indians on social network revolted against it.

Please again, I wrote the Indians on social Network REVOLTED not the Indians without Internet. That is too say the Indians with FULL BREAD revolted against offering the Indians without any Bread gaining access to half or even lets call it breadcrumbs.

How can anyone hear they opinion or how can they even voice their opinion when they do not have the internet to make a choice.

So once again its a sad state of The middle class and the Rich suffocating the poor, lower class.

The government of India interpreted the access to limited FREE internet as a form of colonialism. Is just sad to see a country still suffering from ''post colonialism stress disorder or trauma'' in this modern century.

Shame on the people of India for wanting to remain in the Dark. A candle brings hope in darkness no matter how small the illumination or resonance of the light may be.

To the execs at Facebook , kindly bring this offer to Africa, we have a sizable population and we would gladly accept it. We have a record (We aren't to proud about) of accepting many things that are free.

Many Nigerians both old and young alike, if given the opportunity will trade their green passport for a blue one without thinking twice.
The euphoria of being an American citizen is amazing. I don't blame them, when all they can see in Nigeria are problems.

When problems exists we should all see it as an opportunity to become a legend, like the freedom warriors Nelson Mandela, Dr Rev King Jnr and Jack Ma of China, who enable the lower class Chinese traders have access to the global world trade.

When you stand to fight what ever socioeconomic or political wars your country is facing we stand a chance at transcending the future of our Nation.

If Today Seun Osewa of Nairaland decides to fight for free education in Nigeria from primary to tertiary and patiently and innovatively maps out the plan to execute such an ideology, generations to come we sing him praises. (By the way am not referring to Awolowo's false free Education which we would discuss in a later article)

The concept of great nation makes great people is wrong its the other way around. Great People Make Great Nation.

Many of the things these greedy Nigerians want to enjoy like job opportunities and a better standard of living were fought by men, who challenged their society and won.
So why don't you stay here , pick a battle. Nigeria has so many wars to choose from. Choose any one and innovatively map out a strategy that doesn't warrant violence for executing you plan.

But the choice is yours. the life of an African American immigrant is not as rosy as an European American immigrant, you would probable find your self living like an asylum seeker fighting for your rights on a daily basis and joining crusades like Black lives matter and war against gun violence in black communities with the descendants of slaves, when neither your parents nor your grandparents were ever slaves.
