Sports / Man United Make Opening Bid For Fiorentina Winger – Reports by Insideschoolngr(f): 1:52am On Jun 20, 2020
Man United have made an offer for Fiorentina winger Federico Chiesa as they look to pave a way to meaningful negotiations, according to reports.

The Italy international was touted back in May as a cheaper alternative to Jadon Sancho at just £61m with Man Utd and Chelsea both linked with the 22-year-old

Chiesa has scored seven goals and provided three assists for his team-mates in 26 appearances in all competitions this season.

And La Nazione (via Sport Witness) claims that the Red Devils have made an offer of €50m in cash for Chiesa with a bid likely to be accepted if they pushed it towards €60m.

Other offers have come from Inter Milan and Juventus but their fellow Serie A side said ‘no, thank you’ to their proposals of around €30m.

Man Utd have been the most impressive club interested in Chiesa and the Premier League side have ‘really knocked on Fiorentina’s door’ and ‘delivered an offer in cash to the club’s transfer men’.

The €50m bid ‘isn’t the right one’ but Man Utd hope that it could ‘result in a concrete base to start real and true negotiations’ as they continue steps to bring Chiesa to Old Trafford.

Music/Radio / I’m Here To Take Over From Olamide, Says 11 Year-old Rapper, Harmeen by Insideschoolngr(f): 1:45am On Jun 20, 2020
Not many people know or have heard about an 11-year-old rapper called Harmeen, born Hassan Al-hameen. But he is silently and steadily carving a niche for himself in the music industry. He started music at the age of 5 and at 11 has won some awards and recognitions for his musical talent and dexterity.

Harmeen’s story started like any small fire that would become a wildfire, regardless of the direction of the wind. His father, who has been his manager of sort noticed the little Harmeen could mime any song and rap it out and so decided to prod him. When he did, he found there was indeed a fire on his roof yet smouldering in its infancy. He decided to put him to test and it was all fate needed to discover another little giant.

“I started music professionally at the age of 9 in 2018. My dad wrote some freestyle for me which I memorized. There was a day he went online and he noticed that the rapper, Reminisce was giving upcoming artistes opportunities to freestyle on his new beat titled “Ajigijaga”

He downloaded the beat and woke me up around 3am to notify me about the competition. He asked if I could do my version, I said I would love to but not at the moment because I needed to sleep, but we agreed that once I was back from school we would do it. To cut the story short, I did it and he uploaded it on my page on Instagram (@Harmeen_official) and tag reminisce and others based on the instructions to follow.

“Surprisingly, around 7pm after we uploaded around 4pm, someone called my dad that Reminisce had reposted my freestyle and that it’s trending. My dad log-in immediately and he received message that I was one of the winners and my dad should bring me to Ikeja to claim the prize of 100 thousand naira. My dad used some of the money to buy me some school materials and we used the remaining money to go to studio to record my first single titled “Omo Naija”.

Since then I have been moving from place to place to perform, state to state to perform alongside other star artistes and celebrities. Presently, I have recorded 11 tracks with 3 videos but my latest song trending right now is titled “Rapability”. The video was shot by my dad because he’s a cinematographer,” Harmeen recounted how the journey began.

He is signed to Efoski Entertainment, a record label under the direction of his father, who was also a rapper. Presently, he has recorded eleven tracks and three videos under the label, Efoski Entertainment. He is planning to drop an EP of 10 tracks titled “Rapability” by December of this year.

“ I love Olamide, Reminisce and Davido. I love their music and I do listen to them from time to time. But I’m the future king of rap. I’m here to take over from Olamide, Baddoo,” he said with pride.

Harmeen has won awards like Murk Reminisce competition in 2018, the Kid Entertainer of the Year Award by Star Kids Award. In 2019 he won a split air conditioner from Gree AC presented by HipTV.

The little star in the making is not under the illusion that it is only music that will see him to El-Dorado, he is also paying attention to his education.

My musical career can’t affect my education because there is time for everything. I only concentrate on music during weekends and during holidays at the moment. Education and music are both important to me and I know how to balance both.

“During weekdays I focus on my education, no music, no show but during weekends after I have attended to my school assignments I do focus on my music, going to studio or to shows to perform, with the help of my parents who always help me to plan myself and with the glory of Almighty God,” he said.

Education / World’s Largest Reptile Egg Discovered On Antarctica by Insideschoolngr(f): 4:31pm On Jun 19, 2020
The largest reptile egg in the world has been found on Antarctica.

The gigantic egg, which measures more than 11 inches long and 7 inches wide, was apparently laid by a sea monster about 68 million years ago.

“It is from an animal the size of a large dinosaur — but it is completely unlike a dinosaur egg,” lead author Lucas Legendre, a geoscientist at the University of Texas, said.

The mother would have been at least 23 feet long from the tip of its snout to its tail. The species, described in the June 17 issue of Nature, has been named Antarcticoolithus bradyi.

“It is most similar to the eggs of lizards and snakes, but it is from a truly giant relative of these animals,” Legendre.

Based on an analysis of 259 modern reptiles and their eggs, an ancient beast known as a mosasaur would seem to match description, according to SWNS.

“The egg belonged to an individual that was at least 23 feet long, a giant marine reptile,” Legendre said.

Beyond its record-breaking size, the scientists’ finding also challenges the notion that such reptiles did not lay eggs.

“The almost-complete, football-sized soft-shelled egg is one of the largest eggs ever described,” corresponding author Julia Clarke, also of UT, said.

Crime / US Indicts Six Nigerians Over $6m Fraud by Insideschoolngr(f): 8:01pm On Jun 17, 2020
The United States on Tuesday exposed six Nigerians over alleged internet fraud worth more than six million dollars.

According to the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the suspects are Richard Uzuh, Micheal Olorunyomi, Alex Ogunshakin, Felix Okpoh, Nnamdi Benson and Abiola Kayode.

In a statement on its website, the US Department of State said the six persons “manipulated their victims to gain access to their sensitive information and financial resources”.

It explained that they targeted American businesses and individuals using “business email compromise and romance fraud” while impersonating American business executives, requesting, and receiving wire transfers from their accounts.

It added that they targeted women, especially those who just lost a spouse, deceiving them with affection through calls and constant chats until they gain their trust and swindle their unsuspecting victims.

US Department of Justice pronounced that “all property and interests in property of the designated persons that are in the possession or control of US persons or within or transiting the United States are blocked, and U.S. persons generally are prohibited from dealing with them”.

US Secretary of State, Mike Pompeo, also warned, “The U.S. will not tolerate such gross misuse of technology. The United States will use all of the tools at our disposal to defend the American people and businesses from malign actors that seek to target them, including cyber-enabled actors who prey on vulnerable Americans and businesses.”

Suspects’ Profiles

Richard Uzuh, m, born April 29, 1986; Passport no, A05284868

According to the US Department of Treasury Office, Uzoh was designated pursuant to E.O. 13694, as amended, for having engaged in fraudulent cyber-enabled activities.

From early 2015 to September 2016, Uzuh and an accomplice sent emails to victims appearing as though they were coming from a company’s true business executive and would request and receive wire transfers of funds from the businesses’ accounts. He targeted over 100 businesses in a single day and a loss in excess of $6,300,000 can be attributed to a scheme he led.

Michael Olorunyomi, m, born May 12, 1983; Passport no, A50143448

Olorunyomi was designated pursuant to E.O. 13694, as amended, for having engaged in scandalous cyber-enabled activities.

From September 2015 to June 2017, Olorunyomi and an accomplice led a scheme that victimised Americans through the use of romance fraud. He and his co-conspirators created fictitious profiles on dating websites and posed as individuals looking for love. He developed online relationships with victims to either obtain funds directly from them or used their bank accounts to funnel fraudulently obtained money. Losses exceeding $1,000,000 can be attributed to the romance fraud scheme he led.

Alex Ogunshakin, m, born February 23, 1983; Passport no, A05285583

Ogunshakin was designated pursuant to E.O. 13694, as amended, for having provided financial, material, and technological support for Uzuh.

Ogunshakin conducted business email compromise and romance scams and provided Uzuh and other co-conspirators with bank accounts that were used to receive fraudulent wire transfers.

Felix Okpoh, m, born March 9, 1989; Passport no, A06415967

Okpoh was also designated pursuant to E.O. 13694, as amended, for having provided technological support to Uzuh by availing hundreds of US bank accounts that were used to receive fraudulent wire transfers from victims of BEC and romance fraud.

Nnamdi Benson, m, born March 21, 1987; Passport no, A06417829

Benson was also designated pursuant to E.O. 13694, as amended, for having provided support to Uzuh, working closely with Uzuh in romance scams and money laundering. He communicated with multiple romance fraud victims to obtain their bank account details, and provided the account information to Uzuh to receive fraudulent wire transfers from US businesses.

Abiola Kayode, m, born November 1987; Passport no, A05637743

Lastly, Kayode was designated pursuant to E.O. 13694, as amended for working closely with Uzuh and others involved in the scheme. He provided US bank accounts to individuals involved in the scheme, one of which was then used to receive a $69,150 fraudulent wire transfer.

Amotolongbo:
This is too low.
200 should be the cut off mark, looking at how students pass JAMB nowadays

Well I will agree with you on that but you and I knows that most universities will not use this as they will still set their cut off mark to 200.

Education / WAEC To Release Timetable Soon And Urges Candidates To Take To Online Tutorials by Insideschoolngr(f): 11:38am On Apr 18, 2020
The West African Examination Council (WAEC) has advised candidates to use their online resources to learn. Instead of sit doing nothing at home at this Covid-19 break. The WAEC council also says a new timetable will be out soon after the pandemic.

The council said it had therefore made available several online resources for candidates and pupils sitting for its terminal examination, adding that it was working on making online tutorials available for them.

The Head, WAEC Public Affairs, Mr Damian Ojijeogu, in an interview with our correspondent, said there might not be time for candidates to begin preparations when the council brings out its new timetable after the pandemic.

He said, “The turn-out of the use of our online resources by candidates has been encouraging. We have been getting great feedback. Even those who could not log in initially have been assisted to do so. All the subjects are covered.

“When the lockdown period is over, we will release the new timetable. It is not good that the candidates are idle at home. So, the online resources will help them to revise and it will assist them to avoid the mistakes of those who have written our examination in the past.

“There may not be enough for candidates to prepare for the examination after the pandemic. Those who need online tutors are being provided with such. We hope the pandemic will end and life will return to normal.”

Recall that WAEC, on March 20, announced the postponement of its school certificate examination until further notice due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The council had noted that the new dates for the examination, which was earlier scheduled for April 6, would be communicated to schools and other education stakeholders in due course.

“This decision is a demonstration of the organisation’s concern and support for the various protocols being put in place by the federal and state governments of Nigeria and the governments of the other member countries to check the spread of the disease.

“The earlier released timetable for the conduct of the examination is hereby suspended until further notice. We wish to assure all candidates, schools presenting candidates for the examination, all stakeholders and indeed, the general public that this decision will be reviewed once the health situation improves,” the council said.

As a result of the on-going COVID-19 crisis, students have been mandated to stay at home to curtail the spread of the virus. Most students are wondering when they will resume and start learning. Well, the date is still not yet ascertain. Meanwhile, in the main time, we have put some few e-learning platforms that will help student study while at home.

WHAT IS E-LEARNING:
A learning system based on formalised teaching but with the help of electronic resources is known as E-learning. Globally, various e-learning platforms enable individuals to learn and get certified even up to college/University degree without leaving their house or environment as the case may be. One good example of such is CYBRARY an Information and Communication Technology (ICT) platform where one can learn and get certified in the world of technology.

BENEFITS OF E-LEARNING PLATFORMS:
There are lots of advantages associated with learning over the internet, some of them are listed below and they include:

Learning with ease: Gone are those days when one had to travel long distances to acquire formal and informal education, but now with the aid of internet-enabled devices, one can easily access quality education.
E-learning platforms make learning more enjoyable by scheduling more convenient and very well exposited programs for the addressees it targets making it a unique alternative to physical learning as it enables both the instructor and audience the opportunity of expressing themselves without phobia or vices of such thereby creating an interactive session for all.
Expense reduction and help modify the skills of employees in the technical know-how of the ever-growing industry: E-learning reduces the organizers’ expenses by cutting down the costs incurred in securing locations and other infrastructure that would have been put in place to create the so much anticipated awareness.
In Nigeria today, e-learning platforms are not new to many as even the leaders are more like the pioneers of such institution that is why the government is urging the institution to adopt the use of e-learning to lecture student as COVID-19 remain on solved.

Let us now examine some of these top e-learning platforms that can help in studying while at home.

So in no particular other.
