Nairaland is a life saver... I had to do a Google search on "Etisalat poor network" and it brought me to this page.
I'd been thinking it was my phone... Maybe something was wrong with my H+ port but apparently it's Etisalat's fault. I left Glo because of their bad network, jumping over to Etisalat because I thought them to be the best data network in Nigeria....Jokes apart... I've not been able to use up to 20mb from a 3.5Gb bundle I've had for over a week.... If this was Glo... I would have used at least 1.5G by now.
I'm going back to Glo jejely. |

Phones › Suggestions Please. A Good ("china Brand") Phone Between 30k-35k. by InZA(op): 7:22am On Jun 24, 2016 |
I'm looking to buy a phone, and my budget is between 30k-35k.
The phone should have at least these specs.
- 5.5" screen or larger. - 2G ram -16G rom - not less than 32000mah battery capacity - Android Lolipop (I wouldnt mind Kitkatt too) - 13mp/5mp Camera (not too particular about this though)
If you have any suggestions or any seller here that sells such phones, please drop a comment. Thanks |

Bodjetstar: I want to know your charges for editing footages to 1 hour duration and the one of just 1-2 mins duration. Please let me know your charging rates. It depends on the particular "feel" you want the video to have. This feel would inform the number of creative-design assets used in editing the video, and ultimately would reflect in its cost. Based on this, a 1min - 2minutes video may cost you more than a 1hour video. If you are interested in discussing further, my email is below. Cheers teepixels@gmail.com |

Jarus: 1, My first day at my first job (a pre-NYSC job in an investment management firm in VI.
Very strange to me. That was my first exposure to corporate Lagos as a first graduate. The environment looked too "artificial" with everyone speaking fonee. Being someone that was raised in ilu oke (countryside), I was nervous on how to fit into the environment. I was shown around by an HR lady. My system was set up. I was given some materials to read. One or two persons in the department came to talk to me about the department. During lunchtime, i was shown the lunch room. Free lunch. Sumptuous varieties. As if that not enough, dessert was served after lunch. Then in the evening, around 5pm, one lady was going around distributing chocolates and candies. For my mind, I dey think "won gbadun n'iyayin fa (dem dey enjoy here o)". Lol. Of course, I was also thinking of month end to collect my first salary.
2, My first day at my second job (first permanent job - an indigenous downstream oil company)
I wasn't so apprehensive here. I was shown around as usual. I saw people speaking Yoruba in office. That gave me some confidence that this wasn't as bam as my first job. Lol. I also saw that their dressing wasn't as strict as the investment firm. But hey, no free lunch here unlike the first! My system was set up and I was given a desk, a big desk. Needless to say I spent almost all day browsing Nairaland. I asked the lady colleague that sat in front of me a couple of questions. She was nice.
3, My first day at my 3rd job (an indigenous usptream oil company with foreign flavour)
I joined here as an experienced hire in their expansion phase. No anxiety. Of course, the pay being twice my pay at my last employment, I was looking forward to the pay day right from Day 1. No free lunch here too. Saw a couple of oyinbo expatriates. First time working with non-Asian expatriates. I settled down very quickly here and made friends almost from Day 1. oga Jarus, you be longerthroat o |

Majesticniyi: My first day at work was crazy. I work in a multinational company as a Technician. Nothing in the induction training and years of studying engineering in school could have prepare me for the shock of having to maintain machines as big as storey buildings. I was so scared to touch any of the controls ehn, I actually spoilt some stuffs. Engineers there though are good at what they do and have seen a lot amatuers like me so they were Understanding. Now, I don turn pro myself and I'm one of the best at it. Actually the fear we have of relating with people, acquiring skills on the job, stupid bosses and all those stuffs arent too real. One should just be calm, don't form oversabi, be respectful, be ready to learn and BE SMART ENOUGH TO UNDERSTAND THE OFFICE POLITICS. Reading '48 Laws Of Power' really helped me though. Awesome book! One of the laws (LAW 1) that's very helpful in handling office politics is "Never Outshine The Master" |

thankyouJesus: First day at work? I was nervous because I was interviewed the previous day, I was to take/teach Further Mathematics and Physics from sss1 to sss3. Considering the fact that I was young in age and experience and also schooling concurrently, I felt odd because most of my colleagues are matured/married individuals. For what is worth, it was a wonderful experience because I was working part time and learning different programming languages. Big ups bro...Thanks for sharing. |

The relatively recent high cost and scarcity of tomatoes have made many homes look for alternatives to a pot of stew.Despite this reality...There are still people who don't know what "ahh tomatoes haff cos" means because due to their somewhat sea-like resources, they can afford to buy 30paint plastics of tomatoes without grumbling. I'm not insensitive to the fact that there are quite a large number of job seekers here on Nairaland, but at the same time there are also Nairalanders who have been gainfully employed for years or recently. The point of this thread is not to make any job seeker feel bad but rather to know and believe that everyone who comes to share their first day at work experiences was once without a job... and this in essence should give you hope that soon, you too would update this thread with your own "first day at work" story. That said.... Let's have fun with the thread and share our first day experiences- Were you taken around the office to be introduced to all your colleagues? , Did you sit in your corner watching everyone else with your puppy eyes , Did you start work that same day? For the ladies, Did you get hit on? Come share and have fun |
