FamilyRe: **Nigerian Men Who Are Scared Of Successful Women Possess Low Mentality** by InZA: 3:20am On Apr 29, 2015
I was discussing this same topic with someone this past weekend. The truth of the matter is, I have a very high impression of myself that some people may feel borders on pride, In other words, low self esteem is not an issue that affects me at all, there are very many things I'm personally proud of that eat up any trace of low self esteem if ever it suggests itself. That said, I can't even date a girl that has a car(I don't have a car yet) not to talk of getting married to a girl that's more FINANCIALLY placed than I am.

It has nothing to do with inferiority complex, as far as I'm concerned it's more about being responsible for my peace of mind. Show me a single lady that's rich and well to do, and I'll show you a lady that has been thickened with 50 layers of re-enforced pride and arrogance(It's just natural). The flip argument here will be "Ohh not all well to do single ladies are cocky"....As true as that may be, those who are not cocky only represent a tiny fraction compare to those who are.

So why date or marry a lady who would trash you down at the slightest opportunity. Forget all this hyper-civilization BS....I'm a man and it is my place to be the head, by being the head it doesn't mean she becomes a slave, not at all, but it means she allows me be the man i'm supposed to be by leaving the responsibility of taking care of her to me. What type of a relationship would I be in if I know that my woman doesn't need me or value me because her money has given her everything she could possibly need. I want to be a man, to take care of my woman, I want her to need me in a healthy, loving way that fans my sense of responsibility to her......I could go on and on really, but the bottom line is...Well you know what the bottom line is grin

@OP

It's totally funny gringrin

But really I think it's a more common trend with ladies abroad. I hardly think many Nigerian girls are put together enough - intellectually and creatively to make photos like that with contrasting subliminal meanings.

But really for those that do it though, why not just say what you truly mean with an honest picture, why making us rack our brains looking for alternative meanings to your selfies.... Girls sha.... Smh undecided

It all depends on his mind set. Is he content with self contained? Does he enjoy lounging in his singlet and boxers? Or is he hustling hard and hungry for more?

That is what will determine if I can marry a man living in a self contained.

Why not ma dear? I am an example. I and ma huby actually started our lives in a self contain. I gave birth to our first child in a self contain. Life was not rily rosy for us then after our wedding, after one yr huby got a well paid job and we saved to purchase a land. I managed his money for him (since he's a heavy spender) and still does dat till now, after d purchase of land we still continue saving to bulid, and today we are proud owners of a four bedroom flat in Ph. We moved from dat "self contain" to our own house dis yr. In lyf u do not look at where u are, but look at where u will be, only if u remain focused without pursuing unnecessary things and trust in God. Spend wisely and above all, marry who u love & who loves u cos she can stay whereva u are as long as u are there with her also
Thank you for sharing this.... Not just the bolded but the whole piece. A four bedroom flat in PH is not beans. God will continue to bless your marriage and keep it blooming
Christianity EtcRe: Why It Is Right To Conclude That 'michael' Is A Name For Christ In Heaven. by InZA: 12:18am On Apr 16, 2015
Sanchez01:
Thank you so much for your observation. Like I previously mentioned, the problem in churches today is that they don't preach or talk about Angels. The answer to this could be for several reasons. Albeit, they have the congregation to suffer as most of these congregation don't know what should be done in some cases.

Unfortunately, the white garment churches are the only few who understand that these angels are "ministering beings". Please bear in mind that I've never worshipped in a white garment church before though.

Although there are several Arch-angels, their "ministries" are never the same.

But before I proceed, I'd like us to look at the meaning of the word 'minister'.

To minister means to "Serve" or "be a servant". Thus, when Joshua was described as Moses' minister, it meant he was Moses' Servant (Exo 24:13; Num 11:28)

When "we call on Angels", we are simply asking them to do things on our behalf; we're sending them on errands or we're asking them to "minister" to us.

And it would be right to quickly point out that Angels are above humans but in a little way (Ps 8:5). "What is man that you have placed him a little lower than the Angels?"

So, knowing that we're beneath them, it is expected that we revere them. Some, on seeing Angels in the Bible, fell to their face to worship because of their majesty. We are not permitted to worship them but we're permitted to 'put them to use' by calling on them to 'minister' to us.

For people who may be awe-struck by these beings, they may end up focusing on them, rather than God. 'Deitifying' them in the process, possibly.

By saying "we're to call on them", again, means we recognize that we have them at our beck and call and rather than disturb Christ with little petitions, Angels, be it arch or the regular, are always there to make things work out. However, there's a VERY thin line between calling on them and deitifying them which makes it a bit risky for someone who does not understand how to go about it.
A very thin line really, I agree with you, maybe that's why there are just a handful of Christian churches that preach about them, their existence and their place in the body of Christ.

Thank you for the expository piece

I must really commend you for how detailed you've been in crystallizing the ministry of the arch-angels. I thoroughly enjoyed everything you wrote, even though I don't agree with some of them, but since I don't have raw counter facts at the moment, I would leave my contradictory opinion till another time.

That said, there was something that kept on cropping up in your exegesis of the workings of angels - "When you call upon". As much as I've come to know as a Christian, angels should neither be prayed to or "called upon"... I say this cautiously though because I know angels are among other things, basically ministering spirits and at such in prayer they can be called upon in such a way as " In the name of Jesus, Angels I command you to go to the East and the West and bring my breakthrough".

But the way you emphatically used "call upon" It's like you're ignoring the authority of Jesus or the authority in the name of Jesus as the only and absolute force that drives any form of help or deliverance or miracle etc.

You seem to be "deityfying" the arch angels... Please correct me if I'm not fully understanding you.

Yes she can. Holiness is no barrier to romantic/sexual aggression. As long as it is within holy matrimony, I don't see where it is written in the bible that a woman cannot be romantic.

RomanceRe: Why Your Boyfriend May Not Be In A Hurry To Become Your Husband by InZA:
It's a very rich article...Enjoyed every bit of it. I can hardly disagree with any of the points raised, being a guy myself I find that some of the points hold true in my own personal life (don't ask me which ones tongue).

I'm not going to get overly scriptural but I just want to draw a point from a verse in the Bible that says "We should change the way we think by renewing our mind"... It basically all boils down to the way we see marriage, unfortunately very many of us don't see marriage as an institution that ought to be hallowed and respected and more unfortunately, the more we continue having flawed ideas about marriage, the less married couples we would see.

Another thing really is seeing a woman who's ready to walk the walk with you, every woman wants a man with 7cars, 7 pent houses and maybe 7heads too sef (Pun intended). It's really sad

We need to change the way we think about marriage.
