Elbreezy:2.. Since your dispatch bubble wraps before waybilling, he must have seen all the items in the course of waybilling. Did you later try to confirm from him, after receiving the package, how it was when he saw them? If yes, what did he say? 5. Hotdealz, why did you send stock images of laptops in your possession to a buyer interested in buying them, and worse of all, you never told him those weren't pics of the actual laptops? Haba. You're a dealhunter yourself so it means you're familiar with the terrains of offerup. Will you send picker to go pick items from a seller who uploaded stock images without asking for real images? Mehn, this is shady as hell honestly. Plus look at those laptops. While it is true that damage can occur during waybiill, those things are not even mint in the first place. Yes, a mint item can damage during transit if it wasn't properly packaged but buyer has said they were even bubble wrapped before the waybill (which now reduces the possibility of damage to almost zero), & secondly the items are not even mint condition. You not sending pics of actual items which were in your possession sef, preferring to use stock images, coupled with the condition buyer received items in does not help your case in anyway. It sends a strong message that it was premeditated on your part. I can see vampire bite marks, zombie scruffs & scratches, & so many demonic defects that it's almost as if those laptops were lead characters in The Walking Dead. 1..Elbreezy, the person you directed hotdealz to drop the laptops with in Lagos didn't see the laptops when it was delivered to him? 2.. Was it bubbled wrapped, or sealed, or delivered in a packaged way that made physically accessing or even quickly glacing at the contents of what was delivered, impossible? 3. Did you get confirmation, prior to waybiill, from the person that hotdealz has delivered the laptops? 4. I don't know if this is too personal or irrelevant, but what relationship do you share with the person who these laptops were delivered to? 5. Asides his verbal assurance of neatness, how many sample pictures did he send to you before payment was made? |

And while being born, raised & throughly rinsed in the starchy depths of Sapele water or River ethiope is absolutely no excuse to be uncouth, a peddler of false narratives & a proud agent of chaos --- given the fact some of us here were raised in even murkier waters ---- it should however still be looked into if the man from Delta state has fulfilled the 6months probation rule with no current pending transgressions & the appropriate measure taken in accordance with the agreement. And I do not want to be seen as stoking the flames of a dying fire, but in my personal opinion, trying to soil a middleman's repute behind the scenes is a grave sin -- as heavy as Adam & Eve taking a bite from the forbidden fruit. Inshort it is sacrilege if one even begins to consider the fact that alot of guys on here will not see food on thier table if every orginal deal owner starts pulling the stunt -- or should I say abomination -- hotdealz attempted. As a result, I wholeheartedly believe the penance should match the gravity of the sin. Or try to. He should pay in full. No room for compromise here considering the gravity of the stunt he pulled. ikembz:Forget about crash sef. NL's crash or not, People should have the choice to do business through whatever legal means works best for them without feeling bad. There are plenty risks everywhere. The best you can do is let people understand those risks & allow them choose what works best for them. And it seems the luck & blessing of genuine pickers we've had so far had made us temporarily forget how risky this our business model even is. NL, whatsapp or wherever, a picker can wake-up one morning and vanish with people's money. It has happened on this same NL before. We all know that story. And like i told him, no one is leaving. How can people who were never here before leave?. Isn't that illogical? There are new pickers who don't even do it full time, some do not want much crowd & prefer managing a small group etc. Let people who want to explore those areas do. The whole gadgets coming into Nigeria cannot come through NL. The pickers we already have here in multiple cities that continuously serve people here, none of them has any whatsapp group sef, so the narrative of segregation of this community that's beginning to be peddled is even cold dead on arrival. All of them, to the best of my knowledge, carry out thier biz 100% on here. Anyways,make we just forget this thing & just go back to posting deals like everybody else biko. Time will tell I guess. My Hp Spectre, iPhone 12, macbook, Dell etc will not sell themselves oo... ** carries tray on head** lol |

I never even thought a day would come when the sacred power of a vouch, which is like the voice of Amadioha, would gradually begin to lose its steam.... but here we are because most of us have become so lazy & don't want to put in the collective work to send a strong message that WE ALL are watching & nonsense will not be tolerated. You welcome once again **It very easy to miss out on critical information on whatsapp groups, as against NL where threads are numbered, pages bookmarked and prev chats easily accessibleThis is interesting because like I said earlier, NL was attacked by cyber criminals who caused catastrophic loss of data & valuable information that have never been recovered till today. No platform is infallible. Understand that. **Whatsapp groups give Pickers a from of autonomous power on his groups and dealers are at his mercy. As no regulation or moderators. For anyone who attempts to blow the whistle on any fowl play,, all he needs do is remove/block the person.You're talking about autonomous power when the dispute resolution thread that holds so much data vanished without explanation or dialogue. You talk about foul play as if a popular picker here, who's no longer in business now, didn't vanish with people's hard earned money & investment before popping out of the blue to sort it. Every platform has it dangers. None is infallible. **Recently a picker has gone rogue (won't mention name), holding on to millions of his customers, never ships or delays shipments of his clients.. If not for the alarm raised on his thread, more people would still have fallen victim.. I remember a new person coming there to ask for Vouch, thank God he asked.. And he was warned to stay back. **For newcomers, having access to pickup threads, pickers profile and prev transaction can boost convindence.. Not to forget being able to access the Weekly Shipments Details to confirm aunthencity of deal hunters without necessarily asking the Picker directly (who may never respond or respond late) **As a deal hunter, how do you check prev shipments and dates of arrivals if was done in a secrete group..? A few people love to do a check on like 3 to 5 past shipment of pickers and how long it took to arrival, before deciding to invest.. ETA history may not matter to some, but its a big deal to others..First of, as a dealhunter, the moment you choose to deal with a picker that has only a whatsapp group, you must have medicated on the risks, done your due diligence, & come to the conclusion that it's okay for you. You make it seem as if all the goods being shipped into Nigeria are from this thread. Like I said earlier, a platform is a platform. I believe there are people who also have thier fb groups, or whatever groups that has been working for them for years. What then makes here superior? Isn't that just nothing but pure emotion lol? Talking about searching for past shipments & all that, is it only NL that has a search feature to help track back or say a catalogue? Lol **Imagine if Mikky or Lionlee haved moved to whatsapp group years ago, how many people will be here today.. Snapchat stories gave people so much, yet people embraced instagram stories without having the need to "pay back" snapchat by refusing to use/test & explore a new thing. Lol And lastly, let it be known that I am not in anyway clamoring for an exodus, but it would be totally unfair & maybe hilarious to not expect people to explore new technologies designed to make business somewhat faster & more efficient. And fear not, no one is leaving. There are just new people who prefer the convinience & tools whatsapp now offers to businesses. Same way I believe there are people here who prefer buying from eBay than Offerup & those who have family members who ship items to them directly. adisababa1234:You say it as if this place throws fresher's welcome party for newbies from time to time to help them quickly absorb into the community. Most of the help newbie buyers & sellers have gotten here have been mostly from private dms to people here cos in most cases, nobody will answer you. You say it as if this place is some sort of utopia. Okay for example, what will happen to the passionate pursuit of justice & accountability when Wildchild either becomes too busy due to work or something? Is it the same people who will skip complaints to post deals & lookway that will serve you justice? Tell me what the plan is in the event of that? We don't share tips to new sellers on how to dealhunt, negotiate, how to sell etc. Or even discuss market trends here. Neither do we share daily or weekly tips to newbies asides the usual warning to ask for vouch (which is enough) before buying. So I want to know how people choosing to belong to a whatsapp group (same people who do business here) threatens newbies when the same people are still active here & are not leaving? wildchild1:While most of what you've said is factual & resonates with me too as It's coming from a good place, you also have to understand that "a platform is a platform." It is one thing to argue that we should preserve this place & continue to do business here 100% & nowhere else for the sake of nolstagia & the fact that we all started our journey here which I totally understand. However, once we set emotions aside, can we prove that doing business here -- and nowhere else, like certain whatsapp groups for example -- is better & safer? If yes, then maybe we should allow evidence & fact speak for itself. For example, most of us still do not even know why the dispute resolution thread was closed in the first place? Doesn't closing a tool that serves to protect the purity & safety of this community to a very large extent sends a strong signal the we ---- sellers & buyers whose life savings is being put at stake here daily-- are not in control at all or even have a say? Is that not a red flag? The whatsapp group(s), atleast the one I know of, which aspersions have been cast on, I guarantee you is 100% safer for doing business, as every member goes through a rigorous vetting process which includes submission of sensitive, full-proof personal information that can be used to locate & track in the event of any misdoings. It is unlike here where unremorseful ticking time bombs, who should cover thier heads in shame for trying to fleece innocent buyers, will come and give half-assed apologies while making it clear that this is an "anonymous forum", e no too pain them, then garnish it with a semi ffffuck-off in the air. Oga Wildchild, thank you for always being a beacon of justice & authority of hope in this community, however some of us have also been taking notes of some things & strongly believe a plan B is not bad at all. It doesn't mean we have gone stray from our roots, we just want to have a backup plan, citing some red flags. Like a said from the beginning, a platform is a platform. For one to be rubbished, the other must be proven to be better, in this case-- safer. And no platform is infallible. I'm sure you remember the period when NL crashed & cashed a catastrophic, painful loss of data & valuable information. A plan B is never a bad idea. And the existence of one should not catalyze the demise of the other. I dare say both can even complement eachother for more efficiency & robustness. Until strong measures are taken to show everyone that this place is safer, expect people to continue to decentralize into whatsapp groups, which as I have said(using one as an example), has a strong vetting process that makes it much more safer sef, & the stakeholders all have full & equal control, & say. Not one where you wake-up one morning to see that the powers-that-be have erased your entire history, your Creation, or whatever it is they choose this time, without any dialogue , just cause they can or doesn't fit thier ideology. It is very pertinent that as a businessman, woman, lesbian or gay, you own a stake, have a say, and some level of control too, especially in a venture where you stake & risk your life savings/ investments daily. It is suicidal to be happy to remain a tenant who dances to the horsewhip of his landlord. It is well.
