PoliticsVenezuella Hikes Fuel Price By Over 1000% Over Struggling Economy. by Iroh88(op):
VENEZUELA

Venezuela hikes petrol prices sixty-fold
President Maduro devalues currency and hikes
petrol prices for first time in decades in attempt
to shore up economy.

The first fuel price hike in nearly 20 years will
increase the cost of petrol by at least 1,329
percent.

Venezuela's president announced a currency
devaluation and ramped up its petrol prices for
the first time in about 20 years on Wednesday in
an attempt to shield the country's oil-dependent
economy from collapse.

President Nicolas Maduro announced that the
pump price of premium gasoline would jump
from just under 0.1 bolivars per litre to six
bolivars (1.5 US cents to 95 cents) - a 60-fold
increase from its current level.

"This is a necessary action, for which I take
responsibility," Maduro said in a televised
address.

"The time has come to establish a system that
guarantees access to hydrocarbons at a fair
price but that also guarantees the funding of
investment in producing that gasoline."

Maduro also announced that the strongest of the country's official exchange rates, used for
essential goods like food and medicine, would
weaken to 10 bolivars per US dollar from 6.3.

Venezuela has the biggest known oil reserves in
the world and has been practically giving
gasoline away in recent years. But it has
suffered from plunging world oil prices since
mid-2014.

Sparking protests

The move risks sparking protests in a volatile
country where citizens are struggling with
soaring inflation and shortages of basic goods
such as cooking oil and toilet paper.

A petrol price increase in 1989, which came at a
time of economic crisis driven by low oil prices,
spurred popular outrage that erupted into days
of rioting that killed hundreds.

Seems Nigeria is weathering the storm a lot better than other oil dependent countries, yet PDP supporter no go let us see road. Imagine hiking the price of petrol by over 60% in today's Nigeria!! cheesy

Putting this into perspective, they hiked the price to over 300Naira.

Yes they are best described as possible sympathizers. That's exactly what the Op is trying to say.

It is common sense that they (Bokoharam & Militants) would naturally choose those who are sympathetic to their cause!

In essence, you have just agreed with the Op that Buhari is truly a Bokoharam sympathizer
Errrm, okay. Brilliant comment. grin

Teachers unpaid, projects stalled on plummeting oil revenue
Isn't this expected??

Even almighty Saudi Arabia has drastically cut back on subsidies for the same reason. But I bet PDP supporters would still blame Baba.

Hell, they could blame him for the crash in oil price. cheesy

Stop lying, No party was chosen to mediate for BH, individual were. Buhari was, and is still honest, so he was chosen. No surprise there. Don't forget OBJ was willing to put himself forward for BH related issues unlike Buhari.
According to the Op's logic, Aniko Briggs and Wole Soyinka are sponsors of militants in the ND since they were chosen to negotiate with the government on their behald. cheesy

Okay, let's do this.

I was just trying to give them a benefit of the doubt.

Can we say that they just chose to continue in their criminal and unpatriotic ways or they acted as saboteurs or they simply did not understand the new system?
They did all three. Make dem go house go rest abeg. We don't need to take such risks. Were they blind, deaf and dumb to see it's a new dawnhuh

There's no guarantee they'd heed any warning if they didn't before framing that shambolic budget.

Howdy? Long time...
Lol. Yeah. Exactly their intention.

I'm okay. Some members got me feeling remorseful after the thread I created in the romance section. cheesy. They say from my comments on this board, they don't believe I have the heart to be romantic. grin Told them I'm not who they might think I am, that most of us took off our gloves because they (PDP supporters) refused to be reasonable and move on from the election defeat- we simply got down and dirty with them. wink

But I decided to take a lik time off, do some soul searching, and resolved I'd tone down my language some. Won't do me any harm after all. wink

Howdy?

It is long overdue.

They could also re-train them and give them a second and final chance to redeem themselves.

It was obvious that they either did not understand the Zero Budgeting System or they just wanted to continue in their criminal behaviour of inflating budget arbitrarily.
Hmmm. Retrain and give whom what second chancehuh In such a second coming, they would not only kill the budget, they'd kill the country as well.

They've served their pockets country with pride, honesty and dignity. Let them go home and get some much needed rest.
PoliticsRe: Buhari Orders Mass Sackings At Budget Office by Iroh88(m): 7:17am On Feb 18, 2016
Seems Baba reads my comments on the forum. Good for them. There needs to be a massive purge in the system if Baba has any plans to succeed.

Most of the remnant Goats of the last admin are still yet to recalibrate their appetites back to their natural forms- eating grass- but still insist on eating our precious Yams.

Getting rid of them is a task that must be carried out for us to move ahead without the baggage of too many saboteurs.
PoliticsRe: Sheriff: Jonathan’s Loyalists Threaten To Dump PDP by Iroh88(m):

You bring a termite infested firewood into your house yet you don't wanna see lizards come near? Sorry, that isn't gonna happen. cheesy

You know, I still remember all the names the party labelled Buhari before the election. They did everything possible in the physical and spiritual realm to make Nigerians believe he is a sponsor of BH- FFK didn't spare him a moment of respite, neither did Metuh nor the fatso Okuigbe, today the big hen is back home to roost and they are wondering where the hell she came from. grin

PDP, ndo oo.

I don't do politics but I usually read people's comments. If you are truly behind the moniker the poster assumed, then it confirms what I tell people: don't condemn a man because of his beliefs. He might have a reason for such.

We all have a kind part of us. It is only waiting to be touched. Kudos bruh.
Lol. It's what we all need to do from time to time.

Lol Omenka you actually have a tear to shed? I want to believe this Valentine period really touched the humanity in you...but that will be the day!
Yall have no idea the kind of man I am. Ignore what you see around here. cheesy

The reason I became very vicious is because the PDP supporters refused to be reasonable. Go back on my timeline before the election and you'd see a part of the real me. I hardly hate people and VERY good at charity. cheesy

Even as we speak, I have some yams and half a bag of rice in the trunk of my car, and as I drive around, I look out for people I think need them. Was driving along a street yesterday, saw a lady bathing her child outside, from the look of their crib, I just imagined she wouldn't mind the handout. Pulled over, called her attention and when she came over, asked her if she'd like to have some but she declined. cheesy

I just drove on.

Hopefully, will find someone real soon. smiley
