Properties / Re: A Way To Solve Our Electricity Problem by irohadis: 1:42pm On Apr 26, 2022
Yampotatocarrot:

Does it use light or not?

In the current configuration offered, you need electricity to power the photonic amplifiers (lights) that increase the cooling or warming effect. It consumes a maximum of 20 watts - same as LED light bulb. What this means is that you can power two of these with one 250 watt solar panel and 100 amp battery for climate control 24/7. There will be optional split unit add-ons like the semiconductor amplifier that can consume as much as 200 watts but only need to be used if you want to feel chilly. You can add one more solar panel for this optional module. You can also place a 2 - 4kg bowl of ice over it to get a stronger chilly effect when it is very hot or humid.

Do you mean it replaces an AC?

YES

Why did you say mosquitoes won't bite, what features does it have that makes it a mosquito repellant?

Mosquitoes operate at a given temperature and humidity and are attracted to the CO2 we exhale from our body. The climate control element is an adsorbent that pulls C02 and other gases from the air continuously and dissolves the soluble ones in the water it contains - you get cleaner air. Things will grow on them if you don't keep them clean. The cooler temperature and better humidity appears to also keep mosquitoes away. In our years of testing, we have found consistently that mosquitoes don't bit in any environment with the system.

What are the component features? Does one go to buy then you build or it comes "ensuite"?

It is a full product we deliver plug and play. It is made with majority of components manufactured in Nigeria. The climate control material and embodiments are original to us and are patents we are processing.

How many will be needed in, say, a standard three bedroom flat?

Two (2) of this model will be enough to keep the entire flat comfortable. However, more is more. If you put one in every room, you will get a stronger cooling effect overall. The downside is, because it cools by radiation, the same way you can cool other rooms remotely with only two units,, when you have more, you start cooling your neighbours remotely. You can reduce the light to decrease power and therefore reach of the cooling to a smaller radius. During very hot afternoons or evenings, if the air is still, you will need a fan to move the air with this model. But it requires a slow moving fan to get the best effect. So, I use a small rechargeable desk fan for a room.

Let me know if you have other questions.

Properties / A Way To Solve Our Electricity Problem by irohadis: 6:08pm On Apr 25, 2022
I have been working on a solution to the electricity problem since 2016. My approach started with an analysis of my energy usage while I was living in Lagos. I found that 90% or more of the electricity I was using from my generator or PHCN went to my ACs. That mean't that if I found a way to keep cool with minimal electricity, I could power the rest of my home with a couple of solar panels. This led me into inventing a solution.

That solution is the ae.Climate Earth, a climate control system that uses water and sunlight or light to produce a cooling effect. When it is cold and humid, it will warm up the room by condensing the water vapour in the air. In addition, the system improves the air quality in rooms by adsorbing CO2 and other gases that may not be good for you, and mosquitoes will not bite in a room where it is installed.

It behaves very much like a tree in terms of how the climate control effect feels.

With this technology, I am now able to power my devices and home with a solar panel. My electricity problem is gone.

I would like to open up a discussion on this invention here. We are currently able to demonstrate to interested parties who live in Imo State and Abia State.

You can read more about the solution here: https://anaeleiroh..com/2022/04/vernacular-modernity-cooling-heating.html

You can also see a BBC Click test of the technology here:

That is to say, this farmer in Ibadan has earned 40% of federal government revenue from oil and taxes. Story. How do I start this cassava business?

Why do you people keep using this crappy company for Christ sake when there are better options on and off nairaland. I have used the best on nairaland but when I went for my own research I still got cheaper prices and better customer service than nairaland offers. Stop blaming and get another reputable company

@Infinitikoncept, this thread is just one social media outlet to address customer issues. Happy customers don't come here to complain. We have so many of them. Those that come here want answers and know exactly why they use Zaposta. Don't insult their intelligence. If you are not a customer and still feel compelled to disparage the most innovative e-commerce and shipping platform in Nigeria, please show some decorum and do it elsewhere. I am sure discerning prospective customers can see the lack of critical perspectives in comments like yours. This is not the place to promote the competition.

Good evening @irohadis. I have been a customer right from Circuit atlantic days, to Shippyme and now Zaposta. I have had several challenges with these 3 companies/phases, infact with almost every shipment but I always let it pass. I currently have a challenge with Zaposta (shipment Z1511110568) and I do not intend to let this pass because this has become a frequent thing with your team. A mistake that can always be avoided. Kindly intervene. I have sent an email clearly stating my grievances and I copied you (your gmail address) which I believe is the best civil route to go about this. I await a swift resolution sir. Thank you.

Thanks for your custom. The issue you raised is in relation to stripping your packages. Indeed your packages were stripped as instructed. You were not there to see what type of packaging they came in. The booking containing a number of shoes came in larger boxes that were discarded. Other companies will ship the original boxes. If you want shoes taken out of shoe boxes to keep your costs down, you need to specify that. We will be adding a feature so users can specify if shoes can be shipped without the shoe boxes. Next time I suggest you send an email specifying this.

Technology Market / Re: Has Anyone Ever Used Zaposta.com? by irohadis: 2:24pm On Nov 11, 2015
@Piyke, @hairyman, again, I am sorry for the inconvenience. However, as a company and myself as its founder, we are also victims here. Our lives and business have been suspended for months. We have spent hundreds of thousands of dollars in legal related costs. We have lost millions of dollars in business and good will. This is not something you do deliberately. We have requested through our lawyers a phone number or email for the New Jersey Justice department in charge that we can make public to our customers. We have received no response. As a matter of fact, our first direct meeting with the agency will hold on the 20th of Nov. 2015, for the very first time. This meeting has been postponed from July, to August, to September, to October and now November 20th, all at the instance of the Justice department of New Jersey. We have done our best.

It is not fair. Large corporations worth billions have been infiltrated by fraudulent people. Sony, Target, Apple, just to mention but a few have had their servers hacked and millions of innocent people's data stolen by rogues. In our case, the minority of packages delivered to us and belonging to the yahoo boys who infiltrated our service were delivered by UPS, USPS, DHL and others. Why are we targeted and not these other courier companies that touched and handled the same packages? The actions of these yahoo boys originated on platforms such as Ebay and Craigslist. Why are these platforms not targeted. Why the small Nigerian owned operator with a verifiable record of spotting and detaining suspected packages?

Jeff, the postal inspector in charge of Union County NJ, if he is honest, can bear witness to our collaboration with him in reporting and detention of suspected packages going back to the beginning of 2014. Why the collateral damage to hundreds of our users when the actual targets are the few illegitimate users? Why is the postal inspector, our security liaison, silent?

Before you hold the US so highly and think of us as probably culpable, pay attention to recent and past US history. Pay attention to the histories of race and racism in the United States. It is by no means a perfect country. What does it suggest that packages bearing labels with the names and addresses of hundreds of Nigerians are seized on the basis of a suspicion, without the courtesy of even asking us for any clarification at all?

I do not begrudge you if you wish to pursue a class action lawsuit. Be sure that the target is not the small organisation with the intent to deliver to its customers and a will to succeed. Be sure to discern in whose custody your packages are locked without an opportunity for you to lay a valid claim to your property.

Should we close our business and growth aspirations and retrench all our staff who make a living from their jobs because of an incident and intents that are outside our control? We will recover your packages for sure if they were legitimately acquired. We just don't control the timeline.

It is easier for some people here to claim they have reported to EFCC and police, yet they are unwilling to say exactly how they were scammed. If they can't articulate it here, what exactly did they report? Is it possible there are other motives? We have competitors and disgruntled former employees. This is not the place to exert ill will. These guys are corporate thieves. I once used them to ship a used ps4 cd. Do you know that after they received the item, they calculated fresh charges for me? I ended up paying double the initial amount. They know it's just normal that once goods get delivered to their address, you'll pay any amount to get it from them do as not to forfeit the item and money paid to buy it from Amazon or other merchants as the case may be.

@Maitommi, I am not sure I agree with you. It would be helpful to say what you received as a shipping estimate and what you were billed when we received your items. It would also be helpful to publish the weight and dimensions of the package you received. The estimate you receive for shipping when making a booking or shopping order is just that - an estimate. It says clearly on the shipping page. We can only issue a payment invoice automatically after receiving your items and entering the dimensions of the package received. We consider all the handling options you selected. Without this information, it is not possible to verify the validity of your claim. That your shipping cost was more than you could afford does not a crime make my dear. Hint: shipping cheap single and small items is not economical. The more you ship the better value you get. Selecting the "strip" option also eliminates empty space that could cost you. It is better to understand what is happening than calling names. The current rate is $3.60 and you can't beat that in Nigeria + a really user friendly experience.

@Nokafor74, I would simply say you are a victim of your own fear. As you pointed out, we delivered your last transaction on time. This time the postal person did not meet anyone, perhaps because it was a weekend. What they do normally is to retry delivery. But because of your fear, you requested that the item be sent back to you. We receive dozens of packages everyday at the Maryland facility. We deliver to Nigeria every week. It is very unfair to call a company and its operations a scam because of your own fear, and limitations in knowledge of how the postal system works. What is more is that you are also effectively missing out on what is now the best service of its kind in Nigeria and I can put my money on it. It is $3.60 a pound flat and we deliver to Lagos within days of receiving your package. I do hope you can overcome your fear.

So, finally someone is here to defend shippyme/zaposta.
OK, I just have some quick questions.
when will your issue with the NJ state be resolved or has it been resolved?
what can i do to retrieve my stuff back. because my items got delivered before the scrutiny and I have the proof of delivery.
Why would your customer rep be lying each time i call regarding the update of the packages ?
I stopped calling because i already told me uncle who is going to help me recover my two macbooks laptops, my big box of general merchandise which you guys think you can get away with!!! this is my sweat, i don't even know if you guys understand how your customers feel. all of a sudden you start marketing zaposta. ONLY A FOOL WITH USE ZAPOSTA after all what you did with shippyme.
I think only a legal action can make you provide customers stuff, the genuine ones! and thats why i'm still on my chill pills, i'm given you guys till december before my uncle takes action, because I have been using shippyme for years even when you had bad reviews, I was still able to convince friends to give a try. I don't understand how a business is run like this!! your customers should be your first priority.
come to think of it, you are yet to release the customers shipments in your NJ office and yet you had all the time to Open up a new company with an attractive website and tempting offer?? who is a fool??

@afelouz, I have answered this question before. Again I am sorry for the inconvenience. The investigation of the affected packages is still ongoing. We will consider it concluded when we are told by the State of New Jersey that it is concluded. I can't give a time frame for its conclusion since it is completely outside of our control. Your items, if legitimately acquired, will be delivered to you at the end of the process. One way to guarantee delivery is to verify your account and identity on the Zaposta platform. It is better that we can present clear evidence of who you are when retrieving your package. Below is my previous response to this issue.

The claims by customers about items not yet delivered are factual. International shipping has a big problem. This is the problem of criminals using services to ship items bought with stolen credit cards, or gotten through other fraudulent means. These criminals are a small percentage of users. However, in June 2015, the New Jersey cyber crime unit, investigating cases of items of this type that were delivered to our warehouse over an 8 month period, confiscated packages pending delivery to Nigeria for investigation. While we sincerely sympathise with our affected customers, we can’t interfere with this process. The consequences are:

1. We can’t compensate customers yet because if their items are found to be fraudulently obtained, we would have compensated criminals for proceeds of crime.
2. If after the investigation items are returned to us, we can deliver them to the affected customers.
3. The current issue is an act of state and completely outside our control.

However, we have addressed the security issue on our mobile and web apps. If you try to ship using the app or website, you will find strong identity verification mechanisms. It takes 24 hours to verify a user. This has surely kept the criminals out. I am happy to provide additional clarifications to questions from users.

The main problem I have with Zaposta is that the staff behaves like the worst kind of civil servants. If you promise constant status updates, yet weeks will pass without any update, you will send numerous emails which will be auto acknowledged, without any response. You will make numerous phone calls and get the the standard reply "we will contact our overseas office and get back to you" and they never ever do. Very very terrible customer service, even worse than civil servants.
How can one place an order and after 26 days they tell you your order has not been received from the vendor. Because of this I made an order on Amazon.com paid with my Mastercard and received the item to my door step in Port Harcourt exactly one week, 1 week, the same items I ordered through Zaposta,
I understand the CEO may be sincere in his intentions but the actual experience is a serious turnoff. The bottom line is keep your promises and let the staff know they are not doing anyone any favours, its a business.
I may use Zaposta in the future, but then again I will probably not.

@kkokoma, I am again sorry for your experience. Our services were disrupted at the end of June and this disruption is responsible for the delays you experienced. Under normal circumstances, the system works as promised. We have made significant changes to the fulfillment side of our operations, to ensure we do not experience such disruption in future. If you feel like it, I will give you a complementary $25 for use on Zaposta.com. You can buy a small item and ship it at $3.60 a pound + charges. All you have to do is post the last four digits of your phone number here. Call the office with the same number and tell them about it. Try it and tell me if the experience is still the same.

I have learnt my lesson with Shippyme. Anything that smell shippyme is like ebola to me. Run for your life.
Here is my story.
I used them out of ignorance to ship a pair of soccer boot I got off ebay auction @ $29. After shippyme received the package about a week or so later, estimate for air freight was about $70. I thought I should opt for the sea option. That was estimated at around $20.
Though I was asked to pay the Naira equivalent to a bank account or so.
To cut the story short I was notified that the package is in-transit to Nigeria even though I was yet to pay the ship cost. Well, I've heard of companies where you'll pay at delivery.
About 5 months or more later, my package was finally delivered to Nigeria. Halleluyah
I was not even around when I received the mail of the delivery. Note that it was delivered to their Lagos office. I was not around to collect it immediately.
2 weeks later, I contacted them about the package on phone. To my greatest dismay, instead for them to apologize for poor service, the clueless girl was concerned about how I'll pay N9,000 before I could collect my package.
I couldn't believe my ears. I just laughed it off and told them to keep the shoes. Idiots.
Very crappy service.
My 1 naira. Run for your life

@DatechMan, I am sorry you feel this way. Here are few things to note:

1. You can look at your invoice to see a clear breakdown of your charges.
2. You can look at the same invoice to see the weight and dimensions of your package, as well as the rate charged.
3. You can use this information to understand your charges.
4. Finally, when you receive your package, you can measure it and compare the measurements with what you see in your invoice.

Doing these would provide clarity regarding the charges you received. If you do and it turns out we made a mistake, I will instruct accounts to waive your bill entirely. There is really no need for name calling.

Sea Freight is slower and unpredictable. It can be as fast as 5 weeks and as slow as 5 months. There are many reasons for any delays.

I am sorry to hear about your experience. First of all, I would like you to contact customer service to waive or refund your shipping cost. We will deliver your items for free. We take every complaint serious and work hard to satisfy our customers, and again we are very sorry for the inconvenience.

I admit the UK service has some shortcomings which we are working to address. We were testing a model that did not work as planned because of human resource issues. It will be temporarily out of service until the service issues there are resolved. The location of that UK receiving facility is not really responsible for the service issues. Large businesses have been built out of garages.

Our US service is now open and vibrant. It offers the lowest rates in the industry which is now at $3.60 a pound. The turnaround is fast and updates are consistent. If you find the user interface of the web application difficult, it is because it is temporary and we are currently updating the UI to accommodate the merger of our shipping and shopping services. This should be completed within the next one week. Meanwhile you can rely on the mobile apps which are fully resolved.

Every startup is an experiment. No one starts out perfect. It is what you do about the gaps that is more telling. As a company we have been unrelenting. I am sure you will not recommend that entrepreneurs give up in the face of challenges. It is only through perseverance and doggedness that companies achieve lasting success. That is our strategy. To all those that have had bad experiences with any of our services, I apologise. Be sure that what we have coming is far better than the competition can offer.

Politics / Re: ‘enough Of Igbo Disruption In Lagos’ - Yorubas Outside Nigeria Speak by irohadis: 4:43pm On Apr 11, 2015
I can't believe this country! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_ethnic_minority_British_politicians

I live in Lagos. I am Igbo. I am Nigerian. For now I am from Lagos. I have a right to vote and be voted for. The only thing that can stop me is me and getting enough votes. Not hate. Not a sense of ethnic statehood. Not the Oba. Not the governor. Not the president. The Nigerian constitution supersedes any regional and ethnic identities. Historically, the only people than can lay claim to the land in Lagos are the native people of Eko. Every other people are settlers just like me, and possess the right to settle because of our collective Nigerian citizenship. This how it is.

Politics / Re: Alleged Anti-Igbo Comment: What Oba Akiolu Really Said — Palace by irohadis: 4:36pm On Apr 06, 2015
The hatred I see here is at the least alarming. What kind of people are we? I am Igbo and I live in Lagos. Let me remind anyone including the Oba that I owe my presence to no one. I am a citizen of Nigeria and Lagos. I am not an immigrant anywhere in my own country. It is my right as much as it is the right of every Nigerian.
