Descartes: Nothing pass laserJet printer. Get it and save yourself all these theatrical/clinical instruments.

MOST Laserjets do not colour-print.

And people who already have an inkjet printer will not throw it away.

It will benefit them.

Thanks for viewing.

N.B. Some printer cartridges only allow for one refill before it becomes imperative for you to buy a new cartridge.

>If you are luck to refill more than once, congrats.

>This task is mainly for an emergency printing to complete the job at hand.

>It is always 'better' to get a new printer cartridge if you're not in a hurry to complete the job, and you have the cash.

>The above procedure is the same for the. Tri-colour cartridge, except that its pack has 3 syringes because the cartridge is divided into 3 sections inside it for the 3 colours that is being mixed to give out colour printing.
The colours are Red, Blue, Yellow.

>To know which hole has which colour, you will need to gently lift off the label/sticker at the top and peer through the holes to see.

>Try not to put the wrong ink into the wrong hole. If you do, you will need to get a new cartridge.

That's all folks.

Till next time.

Start up the printer and if all goes well, you should be able to continue printing.

Ignore the 'low on ink' message from your printer.

If the ink fades again, remove the cartridge and tap the top sharply with your fingers to make the ink flow.

But if you were able to use it for a while before it fades off, refill again.

Change ur print preference from 'fast draft' to 'best quality'

That's it, you have completed the task of refilling your printer cartridge.
Science/Technology / Re: DIY: Refilling Deskjet Printer Catridges. by irukandji89(m): 11:10pm On Sep 28, 2014
Step 7: Afterwards, dab some tissues in water to make them moist and then clean the body of the cartridge, clean excess ink stains off the bottom, top, terminals (don't scratch them off) and then return the cartridge to the printer.

Science/Technology / Re: DIY: Refilling Deskjet Printer Catridges. by irukandji89(m): 11:08pm On Sep 28, 2014
Step 6: Place the cartridge on this tissue paper in an upright position to suck off some of the ink through capillary action.

This will also allow the ink to collect at the bottom of the cartridge for quick release.

This should not last more than 30 seconds to a minute.

Science/Technology / Re: DIY: Refilling Deskjet Printer Catridges. by irukandji89(m): 11:04pm On Sep 28, 2014
Step 5: Press the injection into the holes till you feel it has reached halfway into the cartridge and fill it up.

> Use your discretion to spread the 1cc of ink equally into the holes.

> Fill them gently and steadily to allow the air come out. If you do this rapidly, the air will force out some of the ink making your work messy. If you notice ink leaking from the side of the injection, stop pressing till its sucked back in.

>Do this, until you notice ink coming out from the bottom and filling the metal up. When it starts filling it up rapidly, stop filling and fold some tissue papers to form a thick layer.

Science/Technology / Re: DIY: Refilling Deskjet Printer Catridges. by irukandji89(m): 11:01pm On Sep 28, 2014
Step 4: Remove an ink tube, attach the injection to the syringe and draw out about 1cc of ink to start with.

Science/Technology / Re: DIY: Refilling Deskjet Printer Catridges. by irukandji89(m): 10:59pm On Sep 28, 2014
Step3: firmly feel up the top of the cartridge with your fingers along the sticker/label. You will feel 3 holes at the top. These are the holes you will inject the ink into.

Science/Technology / Re: DIY: Refilling Deskjet Printer Catridges. by irukandji89(m): 10:54pm On Sep 28, 2014
Step2: firstly, clean inks stains with the tissue paper, taking great care not to scratch off the terminals connecting the printer to the cartridges. Scratch just one off, and you will need to get a new cartridge.

Science/Technology / Re: DIY: Refilling Deskjet Printer Catridges. by irukandji89(m): 10:47pm On Sep 28, 2014
Step 1: WEAR YOUR GLOVES!!!!!! switch off the printer. Detach the power and usb cables. Open the cartridge door. Slide out the cartridge to the position for removal. Every printer has an instruction diagram on how to do this.

Refill ink: comes with transparent polythene (Nylon) gloves and the syringe with injection. I prefer the latex ones doctors use though. If you can, get them.

Science/Technology / Re: DIY: Refilling Deskjet Printer Catridges. by irukandji89(m): 10:28pm On Sep 28, 2014
WARNING:

>Handle syringes and injections with care.

>Perform this task in a space where you won't kick yourself if you spill the ink. Pls try not to do this in your living room. The refill ink is a permanent stain on rugs and leather seats tables etc.

>Wear gloves (the surgeon or doctor latex varieties in particular). The refill ink is stubborn and takes a while to leave your hands.

>Do not overfill to the extent that it spills out from the top or gushes out from the bottom without control.

>Handle the cartridges with care. Do not scratch with any hard object.

OlaoChi:

Look at Yoruba muslims slaving to fulani
Pathetic sad

Actually the Northerners brought Islam to Nigeria, so its only formality if the muslim contingent of the region welcome one of their top religious leaders in the country.

If the president of CAN visits any community the Christian Leaders of the Community will definitely be there to formally welcome him.

Will you also say Oba Akinolu was slaving to him when he accompanied him from Lagos to Ijebu Ode?

Step 4:

Return the bolt of the oil drain and tighten properly to avoid leakage.

Pour the new oil into the engine, and cover the yellow cover tightly.

Don't tilt your gen while pouring the engine oil in.

The oil will flow into the piston which is not good.

You also tend to overfill the engine with oil when you tilt the gen. This will cause smoking.

Get a suitable funnel to pour the oil in without tilting the gen.

This will make you observant while refilling so as not to overfill the engine with oil.

So that's it, your gen has been serviced!

Start it up, and provided you followed ∂ instructions properly, it should start with no problem.

Isn't that fairly easy?

My next DIY topic will be on fabricating a funnel for refilling engine with oil without tilting.

Step 3:

Remove the plug wire to get to the spark plug.

Use the screwdriver as a fulcrum to drive the spanner, to remove the plug. Usually in anticlockwise direction.

Replace with new plug and reverse the above task for putting back to plug and plug wire.

Make sure you first turn the plug with your hands to ensure that it sits properly and doesn't jump threading. Then clamp tightly with the plug spanner.

Clamp the plug wire back in place properly.

By this time, the oil should have drained fully.

Science/Technology / Re: Diy (do It Yourself) Thread by irukandji89(m): 10:17am On Sep 22, 2014
Step 2:

While the oil is being drained, look for the air cleaner compartment. Pictured below.

Open the cover by lifting off the top and bottom latches.

Remove the black foam, rinse it with petrol, then squeeze out excess fuel, leave it to dry for some minutes.

Pour some of the new oil on the foam, squeeze the foam in your hands to distribute the oil round the foam fully.

Return it to its rightful place and cover up ∂ compartment properly.

Next, we move to the spark plug section.

Science/Technology / Re: Diy (do It Yourself) Thread by irukandji89(m): 10:09am On Sep 22, 2014
Step 1:

Run the gen for a few minutes to make the oil warm so that it can drain off easily.

Turn it off, cut off fuel supply from the tank, detach the cable taking power to the house and take your gen to an open place.

Look for the oil drain nut (in the pic below, my finger on it) below the gen, use a suitable spanner to loosen it in anti-clockwise (clock hand moving backwards) direction. Mine uses size 12 spanner.

Remove the engine oil house cap so that the oil will drain faster.

By now the trough should already be beneath the gen.

Leave the oil to drain fully, then move onto the next task ...

with all our tools complete, we can then begin.
Science/Technology / Re: Diy (do It Yourself) Thread by irukandji89(m): 9:56am On Sep 22, 2014
6: Trough: for collecting the waste oil that will be drained off from the bottom. It should be low enough to sit directly under the gen and wide enough to collect all ∂ oil withou spilling. You can make use of a tray, if its wide enough, or you can fabricate one by cutting an oil car engine oil gallon in symmetrical half I.e. Standing the keg in an upright position and cutting it into equal halves from the top down.

5: New Spark Plug: shouldn't cost more than N200.

4. Plug Spanners, Screwdriver: Usually come with your gen in the pack if its bought new. You shouldn't lose them.
