Sports / The South African And Egyptian League To Get 4 Spots For CAF Champions League by Isaac0808: 12:41pm On Jul 27, 2017
South African Football Association president Danny Jordaan has spoken of the importance of South Africa being awarded four places in the CAF Champions League.

The SAFA chief was speaking during the recently concluded CAF Symposium in Morocco, where it was revealed that PSL clubs would have two additional representatives in the continent’s premier club cup competition from next season.

And Jordaan admits it comes as a major boost to local football, with PSL teams having much more to play for in the Absa Premiership now that the top-four rewards Champions League football - just like in the major European leagues.

"If you look at what is happening in the Premier League in England‚ the first thing those clubs try to do is win the league title and if they can’t do it‚ then the next motivation is to try to get into the top four to have a guarantee of going into the Uefa Champions League," said Jordaan.

"As you can see for both Egypt and South Africa they [Caf] have allocated four places in the Champions League and that is on the basis that these teams are strong‚ thriving and truly professional teams," Jordaan continued.

"Some of our teams [in South Africa] can compete with the best clubs anywhere in the world, but it is not so for every country in the world. This is something we have to greatly support and give more attention to‚ which is part of the reason why we come here in September to address this matter," he continued.

"Even professional football in this country has come a long way and it is now that it has taken a step up. It is not so on the rest of the continent," he explained.
Sports / ABSA Premiership & NFD Teams Get Millions To Prepare For The Season. by Isaac0808: 2:54am On Jul 19, 2017

Johannesburg - Premier Soccer League clubs will share R80 million among themselves to prepare for the season.
City Press has learnt that the decision was made at a special board of governors’ meeting on Monday.

While Premiership clubs will each pocket R4 million totalling R64 million, the 16 National First Division sides will each receive R1 m in preparation fees for the new season.

The board of governors also agreed to giver each executive member a R250 000 bonus.
The meeting further approved a proposal to send out an invitation to tender for the broadcast rights.

A highly placed source within the board of governors confirmed these closely guarded decisions.

The club official said the windfall was meant to help clubs to adequately prepare for the coming season.
“It was a fruitful meeting and everything was done above board. The clubs even wanted executive committee members to get more money, but the chair refused it. We are happy with the once-off grant as it will come in handy during this period of buying players,” said the source.

The insider said the decision to call for bids on broadcast rights was meant to level the playing field and avoid a monopoly, although SuperSport International is expected to win the rights.

In 2011, the PSL and SuperSport agreed on more than R2 billion to extend the broadcast deal for five years beginning in the 2013/14 season. The deal will lapse at the end of next season.

“The open tender will give all the role players an equal chance of landing the rights, rather than having just one company automatically get them. But I don’t think the status quo will change because SuperSport has set the bar high.”

With the SABC experiencing financial difficulties, the public broadcaster could again end up with only radio rights.

I will never insult an old man, talk less of our president. But he ought to have shame on himself after saying those words. People in rural area rent generators to watch football matches so what he is trying to say now is that power is not constant only in rural area, while it is in urban areas. Mr. President should have not made any comment on this at all!!!! He just painted Nigeria as an undeveloped country.

hehehe Nigeria is far from development especially if people can't even afford generators and rent them. why bother calling yourselves the giant of Africa I Dont know cause clearly the tag is useless to its citizens.

Hahaha but u Nigerian guy u r wrong to mention Ghana in ur example. Ghana guy u r wrong to try n boast about awesome Ghana is (I know I've been there but my gf is Nigerian).

Nigerian Govt suck. thought u r the giant of Africa but can't even pay for ur athletes. even Kenya has more athletes going to Rio.

At this point we can't talk about SA, its beyond Nigeria s league .

Let me clarify u guys. And I will be objective.

1. u'd be stupid enough to argue that white people didn't make SA great

2. u'd also be stupid to argue white people don't like the weather down here

3. someone made a great argument by saying us suffas don't want to go anywhere in the world so we have to make this work.

NOW:

1. some stupid Nigerians excuse their lazy governments by saying most suffas stay in underdeveloped areas. that is stupid. only a few people stay in slums. go to statistics.gov.za and you will better understand life in SA.

we don't have load shedding anymore, we have safe drinking tap water and schooling is free. I don't stay in JHB, PTA, DBN or CPT, I stay in Polokwane and if u come here u won't want to go to jhb. there's tarred road even in the former townships .

there r more malls in Limpopo (province/state) than the entire Ghana - I know because ive been to west Africa a lot of times

2. The problem with African states is that African leaders don't care about African people but care about African people s votes.

3. there are 8% of white people in SA, the economy is driven by black people, if u come to Polokwane u will see this. our airport looks better than most main airports in African states.

4. Nigeria can be great but need to fix basic things like Electricity and water - can't compare with SA there!!

social media??Do you use twitter @ all??
if u do follow the league u must have heard that enyimba will b using the yakubu Gowon stadium in PH and d pitch is standard

lastly if I were to give leagues credit .I would applaud all north African leagues first b4 I think of ABSA PSL

1. I'd applaud all African leagues. they manage to pull through despite having difficulties be it pitches, infrastructure or even economic emancipation.

NPFL need the rich Nigerians to uplift it. buy 4 5 clubs , attract kit sponsors and upgrade already existing stadiums.

2. People are starting show up at Nigerian stadiums , well now because EPL season is over but I hope they come to stadium even after. Nigeria is such a huge country, its media should be able to independently make its citizens want to focus only on local content.

3. Nigerians are sooo patriotic yet they would easily choose English or american things over Nigerian.

4. If more countries get interested in watching NPFL perhaps coverage will improve. I see games are HD now.

how many stadiums do I list for yu so u know pitches are d list of the issues

my concern is actually the coverage

explain your concern with coverage. I am telling you the problem is the organisation. till today there is a club which its match hasn't been shown live. why?

when Supersport bought PSL rights they didn't necessarily uplift the standard, they found an organised structure and chose to make money out it. do u think they r making a profit with NPFL?

[bro] don't be like that u are killing the vibes the lmc has really improved the league even if u don't go to the stadium at tyms just check the table or even type down the name of ur team and follow them on Facebook Twitter etc thanx

I thought too the LMC has improved but after watching SA s reserve league, u21 national championship and Varsity Cup (which its games are played at the varsities home grounds) , I figured nigerian league is waaaaay behind .

I am unhappy about their pitches. SA varsity stadiums can't be better than stadiums owned by state governments and then be happy as a Nigerian.

I want to see good football but u can't on pitches like that. Sundowns I coming over in August, it would be sad to see them playing on a half grassed or damping pitch. even an artificial pitch is mockery to Africa s leading economy

the Nigeria probably using a generator to charge his fone, the Ghanaian chatting while drinking water from a sachet .

point is all the things u bragged about

1. u Dont own
2. they Dont reflect in ur pocket or can be seen when get each of the countries (I've been there) except its true KNUST is full of Nigerians

league good but national team sucks.

I wish and pray African leagues can also improve. m watching the Sundowns v Enyimba game and Enyimba kit looks like PES generic team shit. no kit or shirt sponsor.

I follow African leagues and their stadiums are aweful. even SA university stadiums are way better than the stadia I've seen in leagues.

I wish NPFL to rise and be better because without supersport forcing the LMC to conform that league is horrible to watch. long live African football

Sports / Re: NFF To Name Super Eagles Coach July by Isaac0808: 5:12pm On Jun 29, 2016
Hire a south African coach. Hire Pitso Mosimane or Gordon Igusand or Baxter .

NFF is too broke to afford a European coach and no one wants to live in Nigeria (no offence ) , see the Ghanaian coach doesn't even stay in Ghana .

hire an African that can understand and compromise but also who won't be apologetic to NFF and Pitso I trust him. he is Mourinho

He he enyimba can only beat us in Nigeria with their grassy not maintained pitch . I Dont know why caf is allowing such mockery to African football.

we will give u the best pitch even if u r playing in the township but we get unmaintained pitches and expect us to do well .

enyimba can get a draw because the pitch allows free flow .

good luck to the two teams but Enyimba won't win against a tactical pitso mosimane.

Foreign Affairs / Re: REVEALED!! South Africa Still Has Nuclear Weapons! by Isaac0808: 5:48am On Jun 11, 2016
nemesis2u:
South Africa ended its nuclear weapons
programme in 1989, and these weapons were
dismantled.
However, the highly-enriched uranium fuel was
extracted, melted down, and cast into ingots.
The report states that roughly 220kg of this fuel
remains, and that South Africa is “keeping a tight
grip on it”.

......................................***********...............................................

from the pictures shown above of the nuclear bomb casing and the usage of Highly enriched uranium (HEU) it is clear that the nuclear device is fission based and uses the GUN TYPE ASSEMBLY method.

in layman terms in a GUN TYPE ASSEMBLY nuclear bomb two separate SUB CRITICAL MASSES OF HEU half spheres are positioned at one end and on other end highly powerful SHAPED CHARGED CHEMICAL EXPLOSIVES are positioned on another end.

so two pieces of fissionable material, each less than a critical mass, are brought together very rapidly to form a single super critical one and ultimately a nuclear explosion.

in practical terms this gun-type assembly may be achieved in a tubular device (as seen in the pictures posted of s.african device) in which a high explosive is used to blow one subcritical piece of fissionable material from one end of the tube into another subcritical piece held at the opposite end of the tube.

basic components in a south african nuclear bomb are (as i can infer according to my knowledge) cool cool cool
1.50-55 kg of uranium enriched to between 80 percent and 93 percent in the isotope U-235
2.two suitable TAMPER at either ends to act as a neutron reflector my safe guess would be tungsten carbide tamper-reflectors
3.the above 50-55 kg of HEU divided and shaped into a U-235 "bullet" and a U-235 "hollow cylindrical shape" receptacle, each two thirds critical.
4.the gun tube assembly
5.the shaped charge explosive to propel the U-235 "bullet"
6.SAFF(Safing Arming Fuzing Firing) mechanism
(Safing in a gun-assembled system is especially simple.)

however safety is a big concern with gun-type nuclear weapons. For example, it is inherently dangerous to have a nuclear weapon containing a quantity and shape of fissile material that can form a critical mass through a relatively simple accident.

plus the 220kg of HEU stockpiled since 1989 will have become impure with products of their natural decay, however Uranium 235 loss due to decay is not a problem since half life of Uranium 235 is about 703 million years but as i mentioned there will be impurities which even in infinitesimally small quantities in very undesirable and there the stockpile will have to undergo complicated refining process which again is a big technological challenge .

and nobody in the world uses gun-type nuclear weapons anymore.

so s.africa will have to go to their design boards again if they want to go nuclear

this is a technical analysis and very neutral based on facts , so no hate speech against me i hope
ladies and gentleman regards

people like u I'd buy data for them unfortunately I am in SA

Sports / Re: Why Private NPFL Clubs Cease To Exist by Isaac0808: 3:19am On Jun 10, 2016
1. npfl has improved under the LMC, as a suffer I watch the games on supersport like I do every other Africa. league. the truth is African teams are still struggling with issues such as club licencing and finding a mere kit sponsor. some teams practice with Adidas shirts but play with no brand shirts, others u see a keeper with brand x , other players with brand y and so on.

2. even if private ownership exists, infrastructure is still the biggest issue and for Africa s giant I Dont know why government can build 20 000 seaters world class like in UK or US.

3. the idea is to create a marketable brand that attracts people. now the PSL realised how big their brand is being the most watched league in Africa, they set up a media house for the 2016/2017, supersport and sabc will be feeding of this rather than hold rights as they do now.

4. The league should reach even the man on the ground, national free to air stations should broadcasts matches,

5. Supporters must be patriotic , I mean create cult following of teams. fans encourage sponsors to be associated with with the group, do activations at match day venues

6. government must not intervene at all with the league

7. change your calendar though.
