But d commissioner of information has a different story:

"The bus in question was on its normal operation when it ran into a group of protesters. The passengers, who felt endangered, rushed out of the bus."

That confirmed that the bus wasn't charted by thugs

Why do we always think every first release by online/TV/Newspaper etc publications are true. That bus wasn't charted by the thugs and the bus company quoted has stopped running AC after Covid-19 Lockdown if you are a commuter.

Nigeria situations in all spheres of life & living are bad & worrisome but we youths shouldn't allow the unrepentant wicked play with our resolve & values to enshrine a Country we can call our own.

Travel / Re: Lagos BRT And LBSL Buses: Know The Difference by isaacoreoluwa(m): 8:01pm On Oct 30, 2019

I think you meant to write 2007...
But even though BRT was launched in 2007, operations actually started in 2008.

Subsequently, in 2012, the LAGBUS franchise arrangement became operational with 10 franchise companies, 17 routes, and about 240 buses. When the Ambode administration came into office it CONTROVERSIALLY entered into a BRT concessionary agreement (following a public bidding process) with Primero in 2016 while the LAGBUS franchise was still operational. Subsequently, also in 2016, the LAGBUS franchises were revoked.

However, it must be noted that many Lagosians were happy with the revocation of the LAGBUS franchise arrangement and the introduction of brand new buses (financed by Sterling Bank) by Primero. The LAGBUS buses had become dirty, often unserviced and in constant disrepair, reportedly resulting in interminable delays, and had started to revive memories of the old Molue culture (see example of below).

The revocation of their franchises meant that LAGBUS-NURTW-controlled buses were no longer allowed to utilize the BRT Corridor, and could only use main roads like other commercial vehicles (like Danfo). However, I do not believe that Ambode promised to replace the LAGBUS buses for the LAGBUS franchisees. Rather, he promised Lagosians worried at the revocation that the LAGBUS buses would be replaced with better BRT buses.

Finally, it is important to note that the Lagos Bus Service Limited (LBSL) which was incorporated by the Ambode administration, is neither a replacement for LAGBUS nor a BRT operator. It is primarily an asset acquisition and advisory services company (which would also be handling operations until private operating companies take over) to acquire the new high-capacity buses that would ultimately replace .

1. Thanks for picking the error in the date posted. Simply oversight.
2. LAGBUS franchise started with FABREM along Ajah/Law School/Marina/CMS/Oshodi and Mutual Model Transport from Ikotun/Cele/Oshodi/Idumota/Inner Marina, etc earlier before 2010!
3. At resumption to office of Governor Ambode, the fleet of buses had ran an average of 7years and some of the fleet of buses were operated beyond his 4years tenure! So, in simple term the buses should had been scrapped earlier!
4. On the incorporation of LBSL, research further.
5. Concession of BRT operation to Primero through an open bidding; provide evidence?
6. Ambode replacing the old buses is not a sin or bad decision because he was part of the system from inception.
7. On the use of BRT corridor, all LAGBUS buses not only FRANCHISE operators were stopped from plying the corridor.
8. So the other issues raised are sensitive and I wouldn't comment on them

The article correctly stated the current situation of mass bus operation in Lagos. It is erroneous for the OP to keep posting articles on BRT operations without asking revelant. At the inauguration of BRT scheme in 2017, LAGBUS was the focal point before ECOBANK partnered with NURTW to run 1st BRT with supervision of LAMATA to run Ikorodu/Mile12/CMS route. The government of BRF streamlined the system to give regulatory, Franchises and operation roles to LAGBUS and facilities development to LAMATA due to crisis in terms breakdowns of buses and inability to pay staff issues -( court case instituted on this has not been resolved). The franchise scheme under LAGBUS gave birth to Fabrem-F001, Mutual transport-M001, and about 15 other private bus operators under LAGBUS which were fully allowed to use BRT lanes across their route!
Ambode tricked the Management of then LAGBUS to scrapped over 300 buses which in anyway were old because the average life of each bus was over 8years of 16hours daily operation. He promised to replace the buses with more efficient buses. Surprisingly, the game changed! He declared LAGBUS moribund in May 2018 when he had secretly incorporated a new company with the initial functions of LAGBUS to replace it.

Dear Autojos, the questions you should ask your master are:
1. Why Ambode was determined to end LAGBUS by all means and created LBSL?
2. Why he commissioned uncompleted, leaking and below specification bus terminals?
3. Were the buses purchased and currently in operationBrazil marcopolo?

See attached pictures of bus terminals commissioned.
