I am surprised at people's responses to this.

This is pure common sense. The more you sit, the shorter your life span and that is a fact. Someone who sits at his chair for 8 hours a day, stands up from his chair enter his car, go home, eat watch TV, sleep, then watch TV all through the weekend and sleep at night is not going to last as long as someone who takes time to do some light exercise once in a while.

Your muscles get weaker from lack of active use, there is build up of cholesterol, and fat due to accumulation of sugars from lack of calorie burning. Well, add two bottles of coke and a three bottles of stout everyday and the life span even gets shorter.

You better not go and knock someone up if you are not ready to be with them. The poster is even lucky that his baby sleeps 6 hrs through the night and his is complaining. My first baby, now 7 months, gave us a hell of a time as she would not sleep for more than two hours at a stretch during the night. But she would go 4 - 6 hrs straight during the day.

They are cute and cuddly but once they start crawling around from 6 months sticking everything in sight into their mouth and rolling off the bed and chairs, it ain't funny at all.

Don't know about the whiny sissies and all, but this time you related more with what i mean. Generalization is the b.itch actually and so my answer was in line with the question--Why are single women rampant?
It'd be wrong to say that all those men are scared of these women's rigidity. But won't it also be wrong to say that all those women are still single because of their stoutness? Or do some stout ones not actually get married? With their standards and all?

Everybody has got their touchstones for selection of whatever and whoever they want, so who are we really to say that they don't deserve to get whatever they believe that they deserve to?

I cannot help though, but continually hit on the fact that the ability of most of these so-called rigid singles to make certain concessions (where marriage is concerned), lies heavily in the hands of the men they apppeal to, but yet do not approach them, based on the mere observation that they are 'rigid', 'successful', or 'have high tastes'.

Like someone i know will always say; every man can sweep every woman off their feet. You just need the right broom.

Rocktation: ^^You know, this is like what I also talked about. A few women, successful or not, might not have marriage in their books at all. And then, someone would go expecting submission from a distance because the bible says so (or not). Every respectable woman has got walls, believe me. The hardness just varies across us.

You keep talking about men, low self esteemed and scared of lady's flintiness/success and scared men. If all the men are scared like you keep saying, I guess they are not worth it then.

Every woman has a right to remain single if she so chooses but the excuse that she chose to remain single because all men are whinny sissies simply does not hold water. Yes, many men are whinny sissies, but not all of them are. And the funny thing is many women always want the guys with six packs and loads of money; players who are only out to bed them and move on. Come on! Not everyone was born with a silver spoon. Most ladies don't even want to touch a romantic easy-going guy because they are "boring". These upcoming guys look elsewhere and get happily married leaving these old single ladies single for life.

At the end of they day, these ladies will come out blazing screaming their heads off about how all men are dogs sleeping around (forgetting the serious guy) and/or how they are so much of whinny sissies.

A note to the ladies who care to the listen: many of these so called "exciting" guys with lots of "swag" are immature and have nothing to offer. They drive Range Rovers and have no money to buy the fuel. You need to change your mindset and if you want to get married, be ready to submit to the man who only loves you. A man who loves you will not raise his hands to hit you. The "love" and the "submission" comes naturally, it is not forced.

In case you don't know I have been married for years and I have not had any cause to regret. And my wife is a successful business consultant.

Rocktation: A lot of men are scared shitless of successful women really. And so, I blame them instead. Financial success doesn't make a man, so they're the ones that need to work on their self esteem and be confident a little bit more. Cos a man who is confident enough in his own skin, will support a woman's growth. For truly successful women only exude quiet confidence, and would have no need to wear the trousers in their relationships.

Yes, very successful women contrast low self esteemed women, who usually latch themselves to just any available option on ground. They have high expectations (some of which aren't wholly realistic) and they wouldn't readily accept less than what they know/think they deserve. So it would seem as if they're single by choice.

But I bet you, they're all stuck up with themselves as their own dragons, and await rescue by the one that can actually prove his worth....as is the due duty of men from the beginning of time.

I totally disagree. So where do you want to place the women that have really made it big and are married? They have a common denominator. They married young, they are brilliant and they are humble. Examples include Oby Ezekwesili, Dora Akunyili, Ngozi Okonko-Iweala just to mention a few. If you get close to them or merely look at them closely, you will see humility and homeliness. Oby Ezekwesili once said that once she gets back from work, she drops the toga of Govt official at the door and cook for her husband; she even goes to the market herself!

I shake my head at this your low self esteemed men. I don't know if you believe the Bible but a common quote from there: Husband, love your wife. Wife, submit to your husband. Many of these old single ladies are not ready to submit to anybody. A typical example is Miss Arunma Oteh... when she talks you see how she oozes pride all over, and probably explains why she is single.

Because they have forgotten their God given duty of submission and those that remember it are all married.

You got your answer up there.

You are wondering why they are still single only because of one reason. One reason only and that is because you are not close to many of them. I am close to very many of them and I must tell you they are not manageable i.e. they are not marriageable. Many (not all) of them have horrible and stinking attitudes. Believe me, the really fine girls, with good home training, get married before they are 25. The good ones are taken and all you have left is the chaff.

Anecdotal evidence abound that ladies who get married before they are 25 are less likely to divorce than those who marry after they are 29.

Have you wondered why nobody has taken any of your houses in almost one month? I think you agents in Abuja should learn how to fear God.

Looks like Abuja agents don't know that the landscape is changing. There is no money again unlike before...
