It can never be an abuse to use the rod on your children. Parents of this days(educated) have missed this. Some parents go as far as confronting teachers @school whom flog their children for good reasons...this is very apalling to me..I support flogging a child to make dem see wats good and bad
completely agree.

Alexsmith20:
As an african man i believe in the adage which say "flog him once and he would flee twice".

but thats not how my wife sees it,she is always keen on pampering the kids base on the facts that she was born and brought up in the states and was not subjected to such method of discipline.

So my question is, is beating a form of ABUSE or DISCIPLINE?
I think it depends on how it's done, probably the frequency and the intent of it. Some people take out their frustrations and misery on their kids and you can see it in the way they attack their kids all in the name of "discipline": this is abuse. Abuse of authority. The truth is that most kids require correction in the form of flogging but you need to check how you go about it so you don't miss the point of it. Most child psychologists advise that you do not flog the child when you are angry. That way you can administer while in the right frame of mind.

I absolutely blame the clients. Always quick to jump at "good deals" without investigating the so called developer. When you offer a developer 5k and he/she jumps at the offer, no one needs to tell you to 'shine your eye'

Fashion / Re: Nigerian Tailors And Disappointment: Share Your Experiences by Isk(f): 2:11pm On Oct 19, 2014
I have had so many bad experiences with Lagos tailors.

Gave a tailor, recommended by my sister, an expensive dress to amend (i usually have to adjust my dresses to a more fitting size). I already told her to sew both sides and she had taken my measurements. Behold, right in front of me (i don't know if she was possessed or drunk) she took her scissors and cut my dress almost in half!!!!!!!! Even as she did it, she was so shocked. She must have been even more surprised than me. I almost cried. She almost cried cos she couldn't afford to pay for the dress. She Had to do patchwork on the dress so i could "manage it". I never went to her again.

Fast forward 9 months later, another carpenter[s][/s] sorry, tailor: Very nice woman. I gave her a friend's REALLY expensive asoebi to style for me. This experience hurt so much cos i deprived myself of some things to get that asoebi and the tailor even charged me so much just to sew it. So, in my mind, i was going to be gorgeously dressed for the wedding. I asked her not once, not twice if she was sure she could sew what i wanted. She said "yes na. Trust me. You want it like this abi? The back will be ..... and the length ......? Don't worry, just come on ..... date"
2 days to collection, I stopped by her shop, behold this woman hadn't cut the material. I hate stress and don't really know how to get aggressive and act irate like some girls ( i envy those girls) so i just asked her what her plan was and told her the exact date of the wedding (which was 3 days away). She said "sorry. But don't worry, it's small work. I'll cut it this night and spend tomorrow sewing it". I said ok. I gave her the next day and the day after, i went to her shop. She was still sewing it. I sat down and waited cos I had to travel the next day. When she finished she said 'sister pele. Come try the dress'. I just stared at the thing she was giving to me and i asked her whose dress that was. She said 'your dress na. You dnt know your material' i said "HEY!!!!!! This woman has killed me. Ehn!!! What is this??' I almost cried. Where do i start from? She sewed a completely different thing from what we agreed. Not only was it different, it was so amateur and just wrong for such an obviously high class material. It was even too big. God!! When I asked her to explain herself, she said 'emm, you know i called you and u said...... i tot u said I should sew anything nice besides this style'. I was too stunned for words. Then i realised that the woman must be an ogbanje or something. She apologised and offered to amend. The amendment was still as bad as the real thing and i even paid for the amendment (she must have used jazz).
I've never worn that outfit out. It's so bad, I'll have to loosen the seams and start all over. Smh.
I learnt well. My real tailor's shop is so far and her clothes are usually ready in 2 months but i dnt mind. I dnt think i can bear another carpenter mishap.

Don't want to seem rude, but if I am to go by your post. I'd be well in my jurisdictions to say, you are the one without a purpose. Simplistic reasoning like yours stem from the brain of a barbaric dimwit! You don't even know me. How can you jump to such conclusions? I might be 29, but absolutely certain I live a better life than urs, atleast financially . You judgemental simpleton.
From your response, it seems like you see some truth in what He/she said. There's no point getting upset or cussing out someone for having an opinion but if there is even an atom of truth in it, you'll be doing yourself a favor by self-evaluting. U may find the cause of your depression.

When answering questions, Try to KISS (keep it short and simple). Avoid unnecessarily long answers dat would eventually make u to blab or go off track. And always tailor ur answers towards selling urself to the employer.
the problem with this is that your answers tho short and precise may lack depth and not make you stand out. I did this at an interview once and had the interviewer tell me that my answers were too shallow.

Such discouraging news. It shows that the government is not only insensitive but also arrogant. That's the only way to explain how that government was audacious enough to place expected purchase of cutlery and household items at N442m
So sad. Too bad all we can do is just read and shake our heads
