Igbo people have exposed themselves so badly. Go on Twitter and Facebook and see the way they are freely expressing their hate for Nigeria. The whole thing has gotten out of hand that neutral Nigerians have seen them for who they are.

Just check the names attached to anti-Nigeria comments, they are usually from South-Easterners. This is unlike nairaland where real names are not used.

How can you be glad that a neighbouring country that is not fit to lace your country's shoes is insulting your country? Yet, you want your son Peter Obi to rule over the same Nigeria. You can't wish evil on a company and still want to be its boss. If you curse the ground, the curses will follow you everywhere as long as you walk on it.

Yes, Northern senators may oppose military intervention based on genuine reasons, but deep down, they are happy about the coup going on in West Africa because it means if such happens in Nigeria, the West won't have any strong country in the region to help restore democracy. It also means that one of their sons will become the military leader because they are the majority in the military. Remember their born-to-rule mentality. Once that happens, their evil Islamization agenda will be unstoppable.

Right now, Southern Nigeria is able to stop RUGA and other land grabbing legislations they've been pushing. But under a junta, no lawmaker will exist to oppose such move. They will simply take land from different regions and hand them to the Fulani who are mostly from Niger and Mali. Sadly, Igbo people can't seem to see this because their hatred for Yoruba people has blinded them. Only a blind man will say the hate doesn't exist. Your land which isn't much in the South-East can't be taken and handed to cattle herders all in the name of RUGA. Those cattle herders will breed like roaches and take over your land. You won't even have the luxury of Twitter to voice your grouse under a junta.

What annoys me the most is that it is 95% confirmed that there are no opposing Igbo voice to the nauseating attitude the tribe is displaying on social media. Sadly, even the elders like Peter Obi, Ezekwesili and their celebrities hold the same horrible mindset and are no more scared of voicing their hatred and greed for other people's success and land. At this point, I just conclude that they are all the same and can never be trusted. That's why they can't get to the presidency.

Those of use who have been on nairaland since 2013 are not surprise by their current display on social media. When they started tribal slurs and taunting other Nigerians because Goodluck Jonathan gave them an edge, we all thought the comments were just coming from riff raffs in their region. But now, we can see that even the highly educated ones and those in position of power who ought to know better are no different.

The best part is that every other Nigerian can now see them clearly. It is now clear that they hate the country and the reason is because they can't function without hating on something. If they were a country, they will hate on themselves, which they actually do; it's just that hating on other Nigerians gives them a false unity.

I would have advised the Igbo to retrace their steps but I've come to realize that they were never without hatred, so they have nothing to retrace. They can keep it up while other Nigerians move forward.

Boko Haram and Islamic State West African Province terrorists, amid reports of surrendering to the military, have sprung a surprise attack on the location of the troops of Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF) comprising Nigeria, Niger, Cameroon and Chad.

The terrorists attacked MNJTF troops of Sector 4, Diffa in Niger Republic, killing seven soldiers.

A total of 43 insurgents were also killed during the fierce battle.

A statement from Colonel Muhammad Dole, Chief of Military Public Information, HQ MNJTF N`Djamena Chad on Wednesday, said the troops displayed uncommon acts of gallantry and bravery when their location was attacked.

Troops of the sector deployed in Baroua came under heavy attack by suspected BHT/ISWAP criminals in the small hours of Wednesday, 25 August 2021.

“The troops tactically canalized the criminals to their effective killing zone, brought heavy fire on them, and neutralized scores of the terrorists, while others escaped with various degrees of injuries.

“One terrorist suspected to be their leader was caught alive and a large cache of arms and ammunition were recovered and four enemy gun trucks were destroyed,” the statement said.

The statement also said, regrettably seven gallant MNJTF soldiers paid the supreme sacrifice, while four other soldiers sustained varying degrees of injuries and are being treated in a military hospital.

“Coincidently, the Force Commander (FC), MNJTF, Major General Abdul Khalifah Ibrahim was in HQ Sector 4 Diffa on 25 August 2021 on the final leg of his familiarization/operational visit to the sectors.

“General Ibrahim commended the selfless sacrifice and act of gallantry, as demonstrated by the troops,” the statement added.

While praying for the repose of the souls of the deceased soldiers whom he described as martyrs of freedom, the Force Commander also condoled the family of the deceased and wishes the wounded soldiers speedy recovery.

While addressing the troops at the frontline location of Sector 4, alongside the Commander Sector 4, MNJTF, Col Mamane Sani Kiaou, General Ibrahim said, despite the ongoing waves of BHT/ISWAP terrorists surrender, MNJTF forces will continue to take the battle to all identified enclaves of the insurgents.

He described these attacks as futile kicks of a dying horse.

He further charged them to brace up, remain alert and deal decisively with remnants of the criminals around the fringes of the Lake Chad region.

Nigeria's Islamic Group Says Taliban Fighters Must Be Allowed To Settle Down, Warns Bishop Kukah, Others

A Nigerian Islamic rights group, Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC), has called on the public to ignore all forms of ongoing anti-Taliban propaganda emanating from the American government.

MURIC accused the American government of carrying rumours that the new Taliban government in the country would embark on a mass execution of citizens of Afghanistan that stay behind after the airlifting process.

It stated that the new Taliban government should be allowed to settle down due to its various promises to recognise the stipulated rights of Afghanistan citizens.

The MURIC founder and Director, Professor Ishaq Akintola, in a statement obtained by SaharaReporters, warned Bishop Matthew Kukah, the Catholic Bishop of Sokoto State, and other Nigerians “to stop the habit of running to America to run down their own country.”

He said, “Already, America and its Western allies are neck-deep in an international conspiracy to ensure that Afghanistan becomes a failed state. This explains the frenzied evacuation exercise. They are encouraging every skilled Afghan citizen to leave Afghanistan. It is a calculated attempt to drag the poor country into a brain drain crisis.

“This they do by spreading fear and rumour of mass executions awaiting anyone who stays behind after the exit of allied forces. They ignore the announcement of general amnesty for all made by the Talibans and lay emphasis on possible clampdown on women and the imposition of Shariah law. Most of these fears are unfounded as the Taliban have already declared a more liberal treatment of women.

“MURIC advises America to learn from history. America must allow the Taliban to settle down. Gunboat diplomacy alone cannot rule the world. Respect for human values and norms, including people’s different faiths, is necessary to keep the world away from humanitarian disasters.

“Our advice to the Taliban is to remember that Allah-given fundamental human rights are sacrosanct. The Taliban must avoid extreme measures. We urge them to respect the rights of women, children and non-Muslims as recognised in Islam and to distance their regime from violent and terror-loving elements.

“Bishop Kukah and other Nigerians who are in the habit of rushing to America to run their countries down are advised to think twice. No Western power will teach you what will benefit your country. It is always their national interest first. The way America abandoned Afghanistan to its problems is a big lesson for all.”

The Taliban has declared intention to enforce Islamic law across the world after overrunning civil authority in Afghanistan.

One of the commanders, Muhammed Afri Mustafa made the announcement in an interview with CNN.

Mustafa spoke right inside a United States base abandoned by Afghan forces after they ran out of food, leaving weapons and ammunition.

He recalled how the Taliban fought U.S. troops over the years despite more sophisticated assets and equipment.

“Many times we attacked this base when the Americans were here. We did operations, we were using IEDs (Improvised Explosive Devices).

“The Americans had their helicopters, weapons and tanks on the ground. But we, Mujahideen, resisted very well.

“It is our belief that, one day, Mujahideen will have victory. Islamic law will come to not just Afghanistan, but all over the world.

“We are not in a hurry, we believe it will come one day. Jihad will not end until the last day”, Mustafa vowed.

Mawlavey Kamil, Taliban Governor, Andar District boasted that the fundamentalist group, which controlled most of Afghanistan in the late 1990s, is stronger.

“The Taliban of 2001 were new. This Taliban is experienced, disciplined. Our activities are going well, we are obeying our leaders,” he said.

There are concerns about the rights of women. As fighters took territories from government forces in July, they entered Azizi Bank in Kandahar and ordered women out.

The Jihadists led the bankers home and warned them not to return to their jobs. They, however, approved their replacement with male relatives.

“Islam has given rights to everyone equally. Women have their own rights. How much rights Islam has given to women, we will give them that much”, Kamil said.

An 18-year-old Nigerian man caught in the act of committing an ATM robbery at local shops by police has been convicted at court.

The convict, Joseph Oluwasanni of Lucerne Way, Harold Hill, Romford, pleaded guilty at Snaresbrook Crown Court on Wednesday, 23 June of five counts of robbery.

According to a statement on Metropolitan Police website, Oluwasanni was remanded in custody to appear for sentencing at the same court on Tuesday, 7 September.

The robberies were committed against separate victims on different days between Saturday, 24 April and Wednesday, 5 May at the TSB ATM on Hilldene Avenue, Harold Hill.

In all cases, Oluwasanni approached the person using the machine and either distracted them or pushed them out of the way to gain access to the machine and steal cash.

In response to the robberies, detectives from the East Area Command Gangs Unit were deployed to conduct plain clothed patrols in the area around the ATM.

On 5 May the officers caught Oluwasanni as he attempted to make off following his fifth theft of £200 (about N120,000) from a customer at the machine. He was arrested and was taken to an east London police station where he was charged on Thursday, 6 May with five counts of robbery.

A Nigerian man, Adeyinka Oluwaseyi Ajose, has been sentenced to 18 years imprisonment for repeatedly raping a girl under the age of 13.

Ajose, 64, was sentenced on Thursday at Croydon Crown Court in the United Kingdom for raping his victim on four separate occasions.

In a report by Mylondonnews, the police were called to a residential address in Addington, Croydon on November 10, 2020.

The victim thereafter told them about numerous counts of sexual abuse committed by Ajose over several months.

It was stated that the victim was under 13 years old at the time the offences took place and this was known to Ajose.

The police launched an investigation into the allegation and Ajose was arrested the following day when officers located him near the victim’s home.

The sex offender was charged on November 13, 2020, and appeared at Croydon Crown Court the same day.

He pleaded guilty to four counts of the rape of a female child under 13, one count of the sexual assault of a female child under 13 and one count of assault/ ill-treatment of a child.

The investigating officer, Matthew Amos, said: “Those that abuse the trust of the most vulnerable in our society are some of the most insidious offenders.

"The offences committed by Ajose are truly shocking and the sentence he has received reflects this.

“If the victim had not had the courage to come forward, Ajose's campaign of abuse may well have continued.

"I urge anyone who has been a victim of sexual abuse or who knows anything about it, to come forward to police. We have specially trained officers who will listen to and support you.

"The trauma that victims suffer can last a lifetime and impacts all those around them. I hope that the sentence given will go some way to bringing the victim and her family justice so that they can begin to rebuild their lives.

“I would also like to thank the victim for her bravery and support throughout this investigation.

MURIC TO PFN : MIND YOUR OWN BUSINESS

Islamic human rights group, the Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC) has warned the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) to mind its own business. This followed a warning issued by the PFN on Thursday, 27th May, 2021 against any move by any group to introduce Sharia law to the South-West zone of the country through the ongoing constitutional review being carried out by the Senate.

MURIC’s reaction came via a statement issued by its director, Professor Ishaq Akintola, on Saturday, 29th May 2021.

According to MURIC, “Our Christian neighbours have come again. They are always the ones who fire the first shot. They are always heating up the polity. The Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) warned on Thursday, 27th May, 2021 against any move by any group to introduce Shariah law to the South-West zone of the country through the ongoing constitutional review being carried out by the Senate.

“This is a well-known pattern. Our Christian neighbours know very well that Shariah is the Allah-given fundamental human right of Muslims. But they are determined to deprive us of it using unorthodox methods. They believe they are at war with Muslims and to them, everything is fair in war. They are using both fair and foul means to achieve their objective

“It is the gospel according to Niccolo Machiavelli : the end justifies the means, no matter what they do to achieve it. Like the German Otto Von Bismarck, they do not just wait to strike when the iron is hot, our Christian neighbours believe in striking to make the cold iron hot. This is why they heat up the polity all year round.

“PFN and other Christian groups are fully aware that Shariah was in the South West decades before the arrival of Christianity in 1842. Shariah was practiced in Ede under Oba Abibu Olagunju (Habeeb, a Muslim name) and the Ede Shariah Court operated up till 1913 at Agbeni area of the town. It was moved to Agbongbon area in 1914. Shariah was applied in Iwo under Oba Momodu Lamuye (Muhammad Lamuye) who died in 1906. Even the seventh Akirun of Ikirun, Oba Aliyu Oyewole (died 1912), instituted Shariah in Ikirun in 1910. These are just examples of the existence and spread of Shariah in Yorubaland and the Christian leaders are not oblivious of the fact that it was the British Christian colonialists who stopped Shariah in Yorubaland and imposed Christian common law.

“However, they are equally aware of the rising tide of Islamic awareness in the same South West. They have seen the hitherto passive Muslim community being transformed into an active, articulate and politically conscious populace. They are afraid that the sleeping giant is waking up to take back what belongs to it.

“We call on Nigerians to understand the siege mentality of our Christian neighbours. Like all aggressors, they believe that attack is the best form of defence. As the benefactors and inheritors of colonial rampage that lasted more than a century, they are determined to keep all the loot which their principal bequeathed to them. They are determined to keep the Muslims in a concentration camp into which the colonial masters drove them.

“They have forgotten that the only thing that is constant in life is change. We are worried about the voyeuristic disorder which has again manifested in the PFN. It is a Peeping Tom syndrome that propels our Christian neighbours to crane their necks in order to see what is in the pot of soup of the Muslims. It is called ‘giraffing’ in examination hall parlance.

“The Constitution Review Panel asked Nigerians to forward their views regarding what they want in the constitution. Each group is supposed to submit its needs. But instead of telling the panel what the Christians want, PFN has gone ahead to say what they do not want Muslims to ask for. It is an attempt to gag Muslims in the South West and it will not work.

“The issue is what do the Christians want? It is clear that they have been overpampered by the colonial master who handed over our common patrimony to them on a platter of gold. So now they want nothing because they already have all they need. But they want to sustain the status quo because it favours them.

“Decorum, courtesy and protocol demand that Christians should ask for what they lack and what they want. But instead of doing that they are asking the committee not to tolerate the demands of Muslims. Yet Christians already have their own common law and the shariah has nothing to do with them. It is Muslims who need Shariah.

“This attitude can be compared to that of the dog in the manger whose master gave it its own meat and bone. The dog ate and was filled up. But when the master gave hay to the horse, the dog came barking ferociously in order to prevent the horse from accessing the grass. But do dogs eat grass? How uncharitable can our neighbours be?

“MURIC warns the PFN and its co-travellers to steer clear of the path of Muslims in the South West. The demand for Shariah is a civil rights matter. It is a demand for change, a demand for the status quo ante. Britain compelled the whole South West to don the toga of Christian ways of life and agents of neo-imperialism are pushing this diabolical scheme. It will not work. We say capital ‘NO’ to neo-colonialism, neo-imperialism and modern slavery.

“We are being deceived daily by those who claim that there is religious tolerance in the South West. Why is the Muslim girl child in hijab always targeted for persecution if it is true that there is religious tolerance in the South West? Why are Muslims always marginalised in political appointments if there is tolerance in Yorubaland? Why is the South West civil service totally dominated by Christians? Why is the ministry of education in particular and the teaching service authorities in the hands of Christians in all Yoruba states? The claim of religious tolerance is a sham, a phantom. It is a mantra designed to keep Yoruba Muslims in perpetual slavery.

“Muslims in the region are waking up and asking for freedom. We demand a halt to the forceful use of Christian school uniform, Christian education, Christian law, etc. We demand civil Shariah, not criminal Shariah that involves the cutting of hands but civil Shariah to regulate Muslim marriages, inheritance, family affairs, etc. It has nothing to do with Christians. We will use every peaceful and constitutional means available to attain this objective. We declare a caveat emptor in Shariah-related matters. PFN should mind its own business. No retreat, no surrender.
