@all it is good that w are all witnessing this at our time. My own contribution is that there is no need to start giving ultimatum or issue a threat. What the country needs to do now is to get the right equipment being used for scanning the passengers. After getting the equipments, the American and the rest of the western world citizen should be subjected to the same treatment they are giving our people at their airports and also made to go through the same embarrassment they give to our people, with this nobody will tell them to stop because their citizens will cry out to their government and when they complain, we will tell them to stop doing it for our own people. You may ask me the number of Americans coming to Nigeria, but may i tell you that their high networth individual do come to Nigeria, also their goverment do listen to their people more than our government. with this nobody will tell them to stop embarrassing our people over there. If you have any other view from this, say it out let's hear. |
@twinskenny It is a simple thing to do. There are some things you have to confirm before you embark on the project. The first thing is the number of channels they occupiers of the flats want i.e do they want to watch close to 10 channels in each room. This will determine the numbers of decoders you will use and at the end of the day they dont have to leave their room to change on the decoders. You must also know what they want to watch. you must classify the channels into different genres i.e sport, movies, news, children, documentary e.t.c. With this classification there wont be any need for any of them to complain of not watching any channel or i don't want this , it is that that i want. They must all agree on these channels before you begin to buy decoders and the rest. This will also determine the numbers of DStV decoders, HITV and free to air you will use. Also youwill need a central location where all the decoders will be and from there you distribute to all the flats and then the rooms. If there is any question, you can post it online so tat we can all share it. Thanks. @olofofo Hello, how family. Happy new year. How about our issue? |
@all Happy New Year to all.We have seenn the new dawn of great things to come in 2010. @Enitan i saw the pictures of the decoders you posted and i could also see some modulators. to me this is a very simple thing to do, all you have to do is to use an LNB with four outputs. The number of decoders you have must be equally spread on the outputs of the LNB, with this you will have a balanced signal level on the decoders. DSTV system uses same polarity and splitting the signal will not create any problem. You MUST maintain having all the decoders at a central place, with these you will be able to separate the channel from each decoder by assigning each decoder to a frequency i.e channel just as George said earlier. the current set of dstv decoders don't have lnb loop out, so using splitters will do the job. the final output from the r.f out of the last decoder is what you will connect to an amplifier which will send the signals to the offices. the only problem i envisage is getting good signal in the offices which is a function of how you design the cable that lead to the offices. To overcome this problem, you must divide the whole place/offices into sections. For example, if the offices are in a 3 storey building, that means you divide the whole set-up into three sections, i.e a cable goes to each floor from the control room connected to the output of the amplifier, what am saying is that the output from the amplifier will be splitted into 3 cables of which each goes to each floor. Now depending on the size of the amplifier you use at the control room, you might need to use a smaller amplifier on each floor. with these picture in mind all the loads will be balanced on the amplifier and you will have good pictures in the offices even at the farthest place to the control room. if there is any other information that you want to pass across pls do and if you want to use a different design pls post it so that we can all look at it together. Thanks |
Merry Xmas and Happy new year to all fters. Good and wonderful things will not leave us all. Continue the good works. |
it is a good thing that the i d card project for Lagos is coming up. Lagos has always be at the forefront of doing things like that while other states follow. the project is for residents and not indigene. Lagos is everybody's place being the former and still the commercial capital of NIGERIA. this will also go a long way in correcting the population lies which we have always been fed with that a state has more people than lagos. however, the issue of faking has always been a critical issue all over the world but you all know that there are detectors which always brings out the fake stuff and i believe those equipments will be deployed at strategic places. Let's wait for the time as events begin to unfold itself. Tax is our responsibility and we should not run away from it, especially the Lagosians because they can see what their money is being used for unlike other states. your tax will remain the same unless your income increases. we should also coreect our mind set if we want this nation to move forward. stop criticising good ideas with good motives, rather let there be constructive criticism and let them know the way forward. |
@Pito Thank God that you survived. God will always be with us all and He will never leave us. i wish you soonest recovery. @toxnaija Sorry for that time, the whole thing was totally out of my control but thank God that the challenges have been overcomed. Pls text your phone number to me and i will call so that we can talk. |
@ admin i just posted a reply to pitodenz but i can't find it again. pls do something. thanks. |
@pitondez if you can get somebody that can help you to search Alaba mkt, you could probably get one but if you can't get it you can use the Alcad for the purpose. you have got it right by creating the design for ten houses per box. if you are connecting each of the houses to the box directly, you must use big amp in the box and this will also give the signal the opportunity to travel to the next box, if not, then you might split the signal in the box to two and use one to power the signal to the next box and use the other to link the houses close to the box. the major thing there is that the RG11 cable will help to carry the signal farther than the RG6. you can contact me on 08035726658 or 07026208919. |
@olofofo happy birthday to you. long life and many more years in prosperity and fta. @pitondez i have read your post about the networking you are doing for a company. all you have to do is get the RG11 cable to link your other sources from your control room. use amplifier at 100m intervals and by this you will have a small iron box where you will place the amplifier and it has to be powered. it must have a padlock which your staff must have access to. Inside the box you have your amplifier and from each of the boxes you can connect a section of the houses close to the box. we have what is called head-end amplifiers like Labgear(u.k product) and it is usually about 55dB. this will be at the control room while you have similar type inside the boxes. with these i can assure you of a very good signal at the farthest point in the estate. i have done a similar project at Abeokuta inside Ibara Housing Estate. you can ask Toxnaija about the estate he will tell you how big the place is. you can contact me through my profile if there is any other thing you want to confirm. |
@OLOFOFO thanks for the reply. i will check and give feedback to the house. |
@all please i just bought an echolink receiver EL-3030 CR plus usb. i need a link to the download of software upgrade. my echolink is showing card disabled at the card section of the tools in the menu section. please advice on what to do. thanks. |
u guys have done great job in this country where nothing is free. i beg me too i want oo. isomadtech@yahoo.com |
@all using patches and softcam keys are receiver specific therefore great care should be taken when using any of them and you must also have a trusted site to download them. @all i can see that some people are confused about the polarization of the signals from the satellite. there are two types of polarisation especially in c-band system. the first is the direct polarisation that is when you see the operator using vertical(V) or horizontal (H). the second one is circular polarisation, this uses left and right hand polarisation. The left is the same as Horizontal while the right is the vertical. this circular polarisation enables the operator to make use of more space on thier payload(satellite). when you use a c-band lnbf without di-electric you will be able to receive channels that are on direct polarisation such satellites include Pas7/10 c-band. that is why toxnaija could get some stations he could not get before on this satellite and cannot receive on other satellites. when a di-electric is inserted you are limited on direct polarisation and you will receive on those with circular polarisation. in short, it is the di-electric plate that make tyhe wonder of the polarisation. when you insert the di-electric in a wrong way, the ststions you are supposed to receive on the vertical will come out using horizontal and vice versa. these are very important and basic elements of iunstallation. @Badaru i will like to meet you when you get to lagos. @all toxnaija had a little problem with his ku- lnb and that is why he could not receive the stations on Nss7 ku. though the problem is a bit technical because he can still receive on W4. so you must watch out when you receive on some frequencies and not on others. unlike the c-band lnbf, ku band lnb has double oscillator i.e 9.75/10.6 and each of them has the frequencies allocated to them to receive. |
i just joined the forum and i find the topics very interesting and you guys have done a wonderful job. toxnaija introduce the site. i installs and i intend to post some solid infos as time goes on. |
