Same scenario for me. Current crs is 435 excluding spouse ielts which from my calcn will take me to 451 (that's on a score of LWRS 7666) and potentially up to 455. Right now I'm torn between applying for the OONP but for cad$ 1500 fee. Just wondering if it's worth it considering that my wife can score up to 465 if she takes the ielts huh

zandora:
Would you have the funds in a few months? If so then you can reject the ONP if your hubby is going to take the IELTS, as the maximum points he can get via the IELTS is 20 and that would bring your total score to above 450 which is a very good score for selection.

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/apply-factors.asp

The above link is self explanatory (I believe). There you'll see how you can achieve the min 67 points. I guess you're ineligible cos your point is below the hurdle rate. Hope you've done ur ielts? If not strive for a minimum of L8, and 7 in SWR.

PS: I feel people asking for help should provide some basic info like age, language scores, qualifications & years of experience etc that way the experts can quickly dissect and analyze ur info and profer a thorough recommendation or suggestions as the case may be (afterall u remain anonymous)

Is the 3.6m in ur AVC or RSA? I doubt if you can use the RSA as pof (I've assumed u r under 50 years of age) since you can't access the funds until you retire. But again never say never. Let us know if it works for you

ejirostephen:
Mornin guys, I did d Sinp thing last week and uploaded all docs except pof. It was too emergent and limited funds in my acct. I jst discovered now that I have about 1.2m in my bank acct and 3.6m I my rsa acct. Would it suffice if I send those through their mail address? Note: I entered 14,400cdn a available funds whch is equivalent to 2.4m. Thanks in anticipation.

Also, if u wrote ielts g.t yestday, you can hook me up let's rub minds.

PS: The gurus can add a line or two, but I'm so using mine when the time comes!
Issydebo:
I'll check with my PFA, but I THINK it should be acceptable. What I've done so far is to withdraw from my AVC (just to prove that the funds can be accessed) and continue with my monthly deductions. Then if and when I get my ITA I'll request for my AVC statement (stamped and signed) together with a letter stating that the funds can be accessed and linking that to the most recent withdrawal from it. Just my thoughts though

Wire transfer into accounts is still acceptable. See if you can get someone to help with that. I learnt they charge a premium though, but it's worth exploring

Hi People,

Does Accra VO accept online payment of RPRF for FSW 2014? Saw a post that AVO doesn't accept online payment, only bank drafts or Certified cheques in Ghanian ,US or Canadian currencies huh https://www.nairaland.com/1279130/canadian-federal-skilled-worker-program-timelines/98

I received my PPR mail today and I'm thinking of paying online because banks no longer accept cash deposit of foreign currency and I won't be able to raise the draft

I am also an ACCA member, but i am owing some annual subscription, and probably removed from the register, can ACCA still send transcript of a memeber of such status?

Secondly, i got my BSc assessed by ICAS cos WES does not assess my uni. if WES assess my other degree can i used two different assessment bodies to earn two post-secondary qualification points when i apply?
You have to confirm your membership status, if you've been struck off then i think it's a no. But just check with them directly

interesting, pls let us know the outcome

sophisticat:
Thanks for the feedback guys.
I had L-8.5, R- 7.5, W- 7, S-7, but then I actually received ITA at the last draw with a CRS of 450 but on the ITA there was a section that said you should decline your invitation if 'Your language test scores have expired or upon re-taking tem, the scores are lower'

Both results are less than 2years old. So I guess this does not apply to me. smiley

You must aim at clb 10, which is L-8.5, R-8.0, S & W - 7.5.....that's what will help you score higher but even at that, I think it's 441 you will score highest.
He has a postgraduate diploma that'll be two or more certificates. If you run that on the crs it's definitely higher than 441. I just checked again

I sent a copy of my membership certificate and asked ACCA to send my transcript. Assessment = Canadian equivalent of 4-year degree so with your bachelors (which I presume you have) who will fall under two bachelor's degree (4 years). If you have a masters degree do not bother with your ACCA cos the best you'll obtain is a masters degree equivalent.

PLEASE CAN U HELP ME INTERPRETE THIS: Your results
Core/Human factors

Age = 110
Level of education = 128
Official Languages = 86
First Official Language = 86
Second Official Language = 0
Canadian work experience = 0
Subtotal - Core/Human capital factors = 324

Spouse factors

Level of education = 0
First Official Languages = 0
Canadian work experience = 0
Subtotal - Spouse factors = 0

Skill transferability factors

Education

A) Official Language proficiency and education = 25
B) Canadian work experience and education = 0
Subtotal = 25

Foreign work experience

A) Official Language proficiency and foreign work experience = 25
B) Canadian and foreign work experience B) = 0
Subtotal = 25

Certificate of qualification = 0

Subtotal Skill transferability factors = 50

Comprehensive Ranking System formula

Subtotal Core/Human capital + Spouse factors + Skill transferability = 374

Additional points = 0

Grand total = 374
Ur current CRS score is 374 as indicated. Like I noted earlier, retaking ur IELTS and achieving a band 7 or 8 (L8, R7, W7, S7) will bump you up to 460+ which is a very good score going by recent draws. My interpretation is that you wont stay in the pool for long with that score. But for now, you're under water as with most would-be migrants (i'm sub 450 myself).
So retake ur IELTS (another 40k i know) and evaluate your credentials (about CAD$322 with WES) and start building your account balance (approx. CAD$12,000 assume you're single).
To summarize:
1. Evaluate your qualification
2. Retake IELTS (1 and 2 can be done concurrently)
3. Get yourself in the pool asap.

You can get more tips if you take the pain of going through prior posting for further guidance. Happy to be of help as I've gained much myself from reading thru. Touch base with Zandora (in need though)

Wow!! Am really amazed at the maturity in this group. Kudos to you guys. I have taken some time to read some comments and really want to take out this time to get some information as I commence. First of all am 28years,a have a Bachelor's degree in botany and just completed a postgraduate diploma degree in geography and environmental science. I have some professional qualifications in Health safety and environment and also Environmental impact assessment. In my IELTS general test,I was able to come out with an overall bandscore of 6.5. In terms of my work experience,I have worked for a private firm owned by a neighbour for about 4years now. I want to ascertain if these information will be of help and what steps I can take to apply for immigration to Canada. Will appreciate your response. @dupyshoo,I will also appreciate having your number for more communication. God bless.
My 2 cents, retake your IELTS and aim for a bandscore 7 (L8, R7, S7, W7) that can boost your points to 462! Which is massive. I assume your qualifications will be graded as two or more certificates which is slightly higher than bsc only. So get ur qualifications evaluated by WES (preferably) and improve on ur ielts score.

Morning guys,

Quick question. Please how long does it take for one's profile to be activated on MyCIC? I submitted my entry on Sunday and I'm yet to receive any message including reference code to the job bank. Also my status still reads "Processing submission"

@ Zandora,

Howdy?

No she can't. The funds have 2 be in the principal applicant's name or joint with spouse. If u trust her can you add her to your account so she can be the principal applicant undecided?
Trust ke? She gave me 2 beautiful kids she can as well take all my money! Will check if I can include her as a signatory. We also have a joint account but don't have much in it for now. Can replenish that as an alternative. Thanks Zandora

Can my spouse use my bank statements for Proof of funds if she decides to deal as the principal applicant ? I guess that's the major reason she's not keen (but using my statements will help cross the hurdle).
TravelRe: Canadian Federal Skilled Worker Program-timelines Here by Issydebo: 2:17pm On Sep 13, 2015
zandora:
Hmm why doesn't want to be the principal applicant? With your CRS score of 437 you won't be going anywhere soon and re-evaluating your IELTS will only give you 0.5 if successful and there's a 20% success rate. I suggest your wife should take the IELTS because if she does and scores L8 R7 S7 W7, your score will increase to 457 which is a very good score and even if she scores slightly less in some sections you'll still be above 450.
She can't be bothered. hmmm no wahala now I wish I was younger (lol). Thanks Zandora
TravelRe: Canadian Federal Skilled Worker Program-timelines Here by Issydebo: 12:06pm On Sep 13, 2015
@Zandora,
The CRS score stated excludes IELTS for my spouse. She's not too keen in doing it. If she takes it (IELTS) with a minimum of 6 each then i'Lloyd most definitely cross the 450 mark (454) by my calcn. PS she doesn't want to be the principal applicant if at all (using her profile with standard L8 R7 S7 W7 will give us 460+

Hello good people,
I've been following this thread anonymously like forever. Just have a quick question on IELTS: I just checked my result L9, R8.5, S7.5, W7 and noticed that an extra 0.5 in W will give me 3 extra CRS points. Does it make sense to appeal ie request for a remark?
