Appreciate if anyone can provide guidance: With respect to uploading passport data page post ITA, is the requirement just the passport data page or do I have to include pages with visa, stamps and markings? And also, do I have to do this for all my passport (have 3 expired passport with visas and stamps on them too).

thanks all. Great work by everyone based on the logistics!!

With particular reference to highlighted text, your score freezes immediately you get an ITA (even if your birthday falls the next day after receiving an ITA you wont lose points for age by virtue of that section - A11.2)
vcole:
@Spatz81, I carefully read through your post. That was a very important update to the rules that you brought to the fore. It means that if an applicant receives an ITA on say April 1st and has his birthday on May 1st and submits his eAPR on May 1st or after, whenever the immigration officer begins to review his application for eligibility checks (i.e. A11.2), he stands the chance of being denied permanent residence based on not being eligible if by virtue of losing points for age, his CRS drops below the required cut off for the draw in which he was invited.
However, if he submits after his birthday and yet even with the points lost for age, his CRS still meets or surpasses the cut off for the draw, his application would be fine. Also, if he goes ahead to submit his eAPR before his birthday on May 1st, his app would be fine.
Bottom line - once you receive an ITA, endeavour to submit your eAPR before your next birthday if you know that your CRS less 5 points would make you fall below the cut off for your draw.

@bimpsy99, pls take note that "your application would not be refused" is not the same as having a successful outcome.

@esosa4real, I got my passport back siiiiiincceee in February. It only took 5 days. Don't worry about your medicals, sometimes it gets updated quickly, other times it takes a while.

@40manlappy,congrats. This has been a long time coming. I wish you a smooth sail from here on.

@markab, I am female oh. I often wonder why "thanks bro" is the default response when someone gives a reply. Is it only men that provide answers? #justsaying

@lochinny, medical doctors can only evaluate their degrees through MCC and pharmacists can only evaluate theirs through PEBC, any other evaluation done by any other evaluating agency would be declared null and void by IRCC. If your husband is the PA and his estimated crs scores WITHOUT evaluating your own degree is 459, then y'all may want to write ielts and get his own degree evaluated and get into the pool asap to take advantage of the wind of low cut off draws.

@ugoiyke79e, that eAPR form can be dicey. You may have to fill all the info again seeing as it wiped off.

Greetings to all. Congrats to all new ITA recipients. And to the hopefuls, hang in there. It'll happen soon.

P.S.
If anyone new here sent me PMs, pls kindly endeavor to ask your questions here as I would be unable to respond to the messages via email.

1. Evaluating your credentials is a must . u even have to enter the relevant reference number and also confirm that the assessment was done by an accredited or cic recognised agency. The only exception is if you studied in canada
2. Check this link for guidance per question 2 http://www.esdc.gc.ca/eng/jobs/foreign_workers/higher_skilled/permanent/index.shtml

1.Determine your eligibility by doing this CIC quiz http://www.cic.gc.ca/ctc-vac/ee-start.asp

2) Get your language test(s) done. You must get at least CLB 7 in each of the four sections for the Federal Skilled Worker (FSW), Provincial Nomination Program (PNP) or Canadian Experience Class (CEC) streams. But getting CLB 10 gives you maximum points for language.

How does CLB match back to the language tests? That info is here --> http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/tools/language/charts.asp

3) Get your qualifications assessed by doing an Education Credential Assessment. Details here --> http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/assessment.asp

4) Determine the code that best applies to you on the National Occupation Classification (NOC) list http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/noc.asp

The occupation must be NOC 0, A, or B for FSW or CEC.

5) When you have those in hand you create your express entry profile. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/profile.asp and register for the Job Bank http://www.jobbank.gc.ca/home-eng.do?lang=eng

You'll be given points based on your age, education, number of years work experience, and language skills. The points system is detailed here --> http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/express-entry/grid-crs.asp

You'll be in a pool with thousands of other applicants http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/pool.asp

Of course, the more points you have the better. The max is 1200, with 600 of those points coming from your ability to snag a PNP or a job offer with a very hard to get Labour Market Impact Assessment http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/work/employers/lmo-basics.asp

For CEC applicants, the max is 600 but someone who has no work experience in Canada who is only eligible for FSW can only get up to 520 points.

6) Finally, wait for your invitation to apply (ITA). But in the interim you will need to do the following:

a) Have your application fee (C$550 each for principal applicant and spouse) and right of permanent resident fee (C$490 each for principal applicant and spouse) ready
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/fees/fees.asp

b) Identify how you will provide proof of funds http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/funds.asp

c) check out what is required for the police certificates http://www.cic.gc.ca/English/information/security/police-cert/index.asp

d) find out how long it takes to get a date for the medical exam. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/medical/medexams-perm.asp

e) contact previous and current employers about them providing job letters. You must have at least 12 months of full-time, or an equal amount in part-time, skilled work experience. Full-time work means at least 30 hours of paid work per week.

Insane promise indeed. How do you rush security check? The security implications of this move is grave, given that some of the ISIS fighters are now masquerading as refugees and will more likely than not activate their various cells right north American soil! Frightening prospects, hopefully the security implications has been well thought out. Apologies if my post digressed from the heart of the matter.
irondome:

If only politicians would stop making insane promises just to curry electorate's vote. The good thing is that they are not processing the refugees' pr outrightly. The plan is to rush up their basic health and security checks, grant them temporary visa, resettle them this year and process their pr over next year. Even with approach, they would still struggle to resettle 25k refugees before xmas
Travel / Re: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program Connect Here by Issydebo: 7:37pm On Nov 12, 2015
The plan is to get 25,000 Syrian refugees in by the end of the year. herculean task I must say. I also read that the EE scheme may give additional points for people with Canadian siblings. interesting times ahead
irondome:

Lols, there is a rumor going around that CIC may be prioritizing 2014 FSW applicants, as well as the 25,000 Syria refugees. If that's true, you should hear something good from Ghana very soon.

All the best.

I can't speak on the confirmation process but if you're still in Nigeria why not just get the "authentic" DL? The process is less tedious now in Lagos and elsewhere. Just regularise and be at rest. My two cents

Well, I know of someone that used his mutual fund account (I think it's stanbic money market fund) for the POF requirement. So yes u can. Not sure of the pension account especially the main RSA but I guess any voluntary contribution into your RSA can be used (caveat: this hasn't been tested to the best of my knowledge)

By mutual fund account I meant investment account (asset mgt ) bonds, money mkt. Its different from my pension acct

That's correct. They do verify the authenticity and fact that the document was issued by the bank.

chigoziri7:
Thank you Issydebo and Zandora very much for the insight - I appreciate.

@IssyDebo - I also work in an International bank but in HR. that means the long and short of it all is that Embassies one way or another verify authenticity of bank statements which invariably is also a confirmation that i have xyz amount in my account, right?
Travel / Re: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program Connect Here by Issydebo: 7:49am On Oct 21, 2015
Legally? No way but I note ur point (u can provide the relevant Act or Edit mandating such).
I work in the compliance unit of an international bank. Without showing a document the bank cannot release that information. The link u provided are personal views and uninformed too. I note that banks have gone about it the wrong way but that shouldn't make a wrong thing right.

At least I'm talking from a position of authority as I receive and sign off on such requests.
But again it's not about trying to prove a point but just saying what I know for a fact.
And if I may add, the general consensus per the referenced link is the confirmation of the authenticity of the statement provided which is correct. It's implied that once a Bank confirms the authenticity of the document they have invariably confirmed the balance.

zandora:

They are legally allowed to contact your bank to confirm your balance as at the date of the submitted statement. That's what the disclosure agreement you sign is for and therefore can't be a breach of anything. It's when they attempt to find out how much you have outside of the provided bank statement dates that it then constitutes a breach.

P.S - please check out these links on how immigration officers in general verify bank statements:

Per confirmation of balance, they CAN'T call the bank to ask for ur account balance (if the bank provides that info that's a breach of information confidentiality on their part). Rather what happens is that the statement u provided is forwarded to the bank to confirm the authenticity of the document. The bank then goes thru the doc to ensure that the info contained therein is correct (matches what they have on the system) and this is limited to the statement date as provided. And signs off, once that is done case close

zandora:

Yes processing can take up to 2 years because Quebec does not use express entry.
They can call your bank to verify your account balance however under the law they can only verify the balance as at the date on the bank statement you provided. For example let's say you provide a bank statement with an ending balance of XX naira as at 21 Oct, they can only call your bank to verify if you indeed had that XX naira on 21 Oct.

Thanks Zany
I didn't use it to qualify for FSW. However while completing my info per EE I was asked if either myself or spouse have relatives in Canada which I answered in the affirmative. Both our birth certificates don't have any info on our parents. So my question still remains, what else will suffice for proof of relationship. Thanks

zandora:

You're not asked to provide evidence of proof of a relative in Canada unless you used it to claim 67 points to qualify for FSW. In that case you'll have to provide both your birth certificates, his PR card or Canadian passport or Canadian passport etc. I hope you realise that in order to claim the points he has 2 be a PR or citizen.

Dear all,
I've a relative in Canada (blood brother), and I just observed that I'll have to provide proof of our relationship which I don't have. My question now is can I conveniently omit that information from my EE profile without running the risk of misrepresentation or what else can I use as proof of our relationship?

The visa officer doing the evaluation is not privy to first bank nor zenith bank's rate (any local bank rate for that matter). They rely on likes of oanda.com; xe.com for conversion. Banks add their own premium to the card rate depending on their cost of funds. So different banks with different rates.

JesusDWay:

This Oanda stuff is something we just discussed on another group I am. I'll rather advice one use bank rate(you will use bank to make any payment you are making anyway) which someone who just transacted with First Bank said he was charged 165. It used to be 170 actually which I'll rather advice anyone to use.

Bit confused here (pls clarify). I'm currently on 435, my spouse can potentially add up to 20 points. I just took a conservative score of 12 under language (since ielts is outstanding) and 8 points for education (Although WES summary is two or more certificates). Abi no be so?

zandora:

The maximum your spouse can add is 20 points for language, 10 for education and 10 for Canadian experience.
Travel / Re: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program Connect Here by Issydebo: 7:45am On Oct 01, 2015
12 points for language and 8 for education

zandora:

How did you arrive at your calculation though? If she scores L7,6,6,6 that's clb levels 7&8 which will net you 12 points bringing your total to 447 which isn't that good. The English scores awarded for principal applicant and Spouse are different. She should aim for the maximum at most or L7.5,7,7,7 to give 453 which is good. See the link below for spouse language calculation:
