PoliticsSouth African Government Labels All Nigerians "Boko Haram" by iterator25(op): 7:05pm On Jul 02, 2014

Cape Town - South Africans should not
be surprised if Boko Haram splinter
groups are operating in the country,
Deputy International Relations Minister
Luwellyn Landers said on Wednesday.
While there was no proof the Islamic
militant group was operational in South
Africa, he was concerned, he told
reporters at Parliament.
"That has to be a concern for anybody
and we shouldn't be surprised if they
are here," Landers said.
"Someone who does a lot of work in
Africa said to me it's very difficult to
pinpoint just who belongs to Boko
Haram because they have succeeded in
integrating in every community they
seek to be part of."
Boko Haram has been blamed for a
series of bombings, mainly in north-
east Nigeria, its suspected base of
operations.
In the latest attack on Tuesday, a truck
exploded, killing at least 15 people in
the city of Maiduguri, a city repeatedly
hit by Boko Haram members.
The group made headlines after it
kidnapped over 200 schoolgirls in
Nigeria's Borno state in April.
Other countries, including Cameroon,
have begun a crackdown on suspected
Boko Haram splinter groups.
"South Africa will continue to support
the actions taken by the African Union
in support of Nigeria and other
countries where the scourge of
terrorism and armed groupings impact
on the lives of innocent people and
impede development," Landers said.
Boko Haram's influence in other
countries could be more pronounced as
its members blended into their
surroundings.
"They don't go around wearing specific
colours or overalls or logos, so... you'll
never know that the person sitting next
to you is a member of Boko Haram.
That's how effective they've become,"
Landers said.

And here we are mourning Mandela even more than d south africans and his family. Same thing happened when Obama won d first time, we celebrated more than any other country of the world, but the same Obama came to africa and never cared to give us common phone call not to talk of visiting us. Thank God i dont usually give a Bleep about all this stuff

solomon111: Your inflation is lower because of your minute population.
It dosen't mean anything.
Your inflation is also lower than SA,india, japan and other major economies.
2)Our debt profile is less than $10billion.
Very low for a population of 170million.
I'm sure if you compare the population/debt ratio of both countries,Nigeria is better off.
Btw,Nigeria has the much bigger foreign reserve.
3)credit ratings don't tell the whole story as they're usually based on many factors like security and stability, which is still pretty fragile in Nigeria.
Credit ratings are meant to act as guide for investors.
Anyway,Nigeria attracts the highest foreign investments in africa.
So your A+ is only on paper.

maybe you dont understand the role madiba played! Reconcilliation, when he came out he had a choice civil war or peace thats why hes being celebrated...and it was close to civil war when chris Hani was killed.

anc had a vision, madiba was elected to bring peace, then mbeki to fix the economy...then they lost the plot with zuma, when they recalled mbeki from office. mandela is being celebrated for the kind of person he was...

all wanted is sa should have killed or chased whites out of sa, and take over everything. now black were given enferior education, black couldnt do anything to better their lives. now how can you take over all the countries institutions and businesse in 20 years, when the blacks are still recovering, try to fix the education left by the whites, when blacks dont have expertise? it will take generation to fix what whites did, and we are making progress since 94.

nigeria is helping people just cauše they want to be given praises, pat in the back and recognition. when they cant help themselves.

i mean what kind of country where universities go on strike for 5 mnths, then you whant to be taken seriously?? like for real.

stop bittching nigeria did this and that for sa, so are other countries.
Kindly search this key words on Google, who really runs south africa there are some interesting articles in the results.. I hope it clears your clouded brain

The boers had nukes, mandela knows taking any action against them would result to the annihilation of black south Africans.. the truth is, anyone could have made the same decision as mandela, That's why critics believe he's overated.. so dude, relax and enjoy the legacy.. ANC has done Well on 'maintenance' and 'upgrade'.. we all know who calls the crucial shots however

50calibre: Are people surprised at the snub? C'mon anyone could have predicted that. This isnt new, Nigeria is constantly snubbed by the international community.

people need to realise Nigeria is getting increasingly inconsequential in world affairs of today, an international pariah. it's best you prepare your mind for more of these. The world is evolving, evolve with it or get dropped behind, you just can't keep grappling with the same issues for decades & expect to be taken seriously.

It's time Nigerians rise & revolt against this shambles they call a government, or can keep decieving themselves. When You look at GEJ, you see a square peg in a round hole, he looks completely out of place, completely clueless, completely lacking of any leadership quality or charisma, now you can disagree if you like, the end shall tell.

Failure has no friends.
