Lo because Obi is not in contention, Peter Obi is never a topic of discussion in the north! The only time u will see a northern politician talking about Obi, is when his/she is asked a direct question HardMirror: It just occured to me that kwankwanso could step down for obi. I am not an obi supporter and i think he cannot come second in the coming election, but if my suspicion is true then obi is surely winning.
I remember he said he cannot step down for atiku or tinubu. Why didnt he mention obi.

Politics › Re: After Yaradua and Jonathan: Can Nigerians Trust Obasanjo’s Judgment? by ItsTutsi(m): 8:10pm On Jan 01, 2023 |
Why did you skip 2015? Penguin2: The hottest gist in town now is Obasanjo’s public and official endorsement of Peter Obi for the 2023 presidential elections. Not like political observers didn’t know where Obasanjo stood all along, but putting pen to paper on it is what is making the talk of town now.
Expectedly, the supporters of Obi’s opponents in the election are not taking the news in good faith. But why would they? The news isn’t palatable to them; it wasn’t meant to be.
But what Nigerians can do is to interrogate Obasanjo’s judgment and ask ourselves if we can trust him.
There’s only one way to do this, and that’s by examining his past judgments and knowing the outcome for the generality of Nigeria and Nigerians.
The first endorsement Obasanjo did after his administration was to midwife Yaradua’s emergence as candidate of PDP and campaigning for him all over Nigeria while asking Nigerians to trust him and give Yaradua a chance. Nigerians gave Yaradua a chance and till today, Nigerians give testimony to what a great President Yaradua would have been if he hadn’t died in office. So, we can say Obasanjo was right with that judgment.
The second endorsement Obasanjo made after his administration was to ask Nigerians to give Jonathan a chance in 2011 after he succeeded Yaradua. I want to believe that it was not Obasanjo’s intention for Yaradua to die in office but when it happened, he felt Jonathan should be given a chance to prove himself. Did Jonathan disappoint? That is debatable; especially when juxtaposed with the current administration. The only fault of Jonathan was in allowing insurgency to fester when it should have been nipped in the bud and not being able to control some of his appointees who engaged in stupendous corruption which was where the disagreement between Jonathan and Obasanjo started. But aside that, Jonathan was a good man and Nigeria witnessed positive growth. So, again, Obasanjo was proven right in his judgment.
In 2019, Obasanjo, for the first time, in possibly for lack of alternatives, closed his eyes on whatever grouse he has with Atiku and threw his weight behind him, though not in the degree he (Obasanjo) is doing it for Obi right now. If anything, Obasanjo never made his endorsement of Atiku public in 2019. However, Atiku lost the 2019 election and we will never find out if he was right or wrong in that judgment.
Now, as the 2023 elections approach, Obasanjo is asking Nigerians to trust his judgment and give Peter Obi a chance to rescue Nigeria from the precipice it currently finds herself.
From the antecedents of his judgment, do you think Nigerians will be wrong to trust Obasanjo?

Politics › Re: Concerning The Forthcoming Elections by ItsTutsi(m): 9:36am On Jan 01, 2023 |
You sound more like a mole with the desperation to pitch Tinubu against Buhari EniObankeHO: It's undisputable that this election is between Tinubu and Buhari, and by default Atiku. Whoever still cultivates the idea of Obi winning this election or even standing a chance is clearly naive. Even if the G5 rally around him, that's still of little avail in the larger scheme of victory but can only draw Atiku farther away. As the political process is gathering momentum, it seems to gravitate in the direction of a particular candidate and he is riding the tide so well. Hmmm, Except for some very few exceptions, normally whoever takes the kind of step Tinubu took back then from 2014/15 general elections by empowering a man with the hope of him later returning the baton to him in due course is doom to fail. But he took the step and we kept watching and most action and inaction of President Buhari towards Tinubu has always been to plummet his influence to a convenient proportion. I think the former General doesn't manifest much of cleverness expected of a military man. From the start he demonstrated his sadistic intenton to reduce Tinubu influence but he has no inkling of how to do this effectively and that's why Tinubu still remains relevant until the eve of the Party's Primaries. The series of events that led to eventual emergence of Tinubu as the flag bearer socked the President to the marrow, and that's quite wrong for a military General! A General doesn't rush to a battle leaving the outcome of any engagement to chance. A sound military General prepares with the end in mind having thoroughly evaluated the means to the desired end. From a statement like " somebody cannot stay in Lagos be dictating to us in Abuja, through consensus candidate, to vote whomever you like", just to mention a few. Have you seen the President attending the Party's Rally? It's clear the President is not comfortable with Tinubu succeeding him. But my issue here is not that the President doesn't want to return the gesture. No! that is normal human trait, if you ever help someone and expect to be paid back you will be disappointed. But my issue is just that Buhari is not acting like a General which by default, is making Tinubu strategizing like an effective military General. It's just too simple if the President wants to destroy Tinubu even by covert steps, it is just a few hours deep thinking, few days of deliberation by the Senate and few days of criticism and bitterness by Tinubu loyalists nationwide and that's it. But the General has just been wading in Tinubu's mud after he got all it takes to show himself. It's too late for the President to stop Tinubu without dire consequences and that's my point here. Tinubu seems to have developed a great sense of picking up a hopeless, slovenly man and decks him up for a special occasion (he never thought of attending) so that he comes back later with gesture of appreciation. But this rule rarely applies to power. So unarguably Tinubu had unknowingly or may knowingly dashed out his power since 2014/15. But he seemed to have mastered the art of emerging from the void so well. But will he still be able to appear from the void in 2023? Well, whoever underestimates the willpower of the incumbent President commits a great mistake and if the President thinks he can bequeath power to his kinsman so that the North can retain power for 16 years peacefully, then his thought is blundered. All along the President has been trying to downsize Tinubu's influence but to no avail. If he think now is the time then it's unwise, dangerous! We hope to see some epic events unfolding before the end of first quarter of 2023. It's going to be epic because that is the grand finales for the three major contenders. This is the last chance Buhari has to permanently fulfil his sadistic intention against Tinubu, also the first and final attempt for Tinubu to achieve his life ambition and same goes for Atiku since early 1990s! Sooner rather than later, intriguing events are going be unfolding so behold people of keen-sightedness. Buhari is scheming. Tinubu is strategizing. Will Tinubu still be able to appear from the void to shock Buhari permanently and the world in general? Will Buhari leave Aso Rock (with his feet dragging) as a man whom Tinubu truly sent there just to hold fort for him till an appointed time and has no effective powers to prove him wrong? If Tinubu successfully becomes the President, then I hang this on Qadar not exclusively his cleverness. His success is going to be phenomenal in two major principles of power, one general, the other being local. Now if the answer is affirmative comes next June 12, then, definitely there's something of so many things to be studied about this man called Tinubu. |
