Just paid (165000) for the visa process
Yes! That's the required I have also done for now but will be going for medicals and other required documentation next week as instructed by IES. I had sent you an email. Regards the tuition payment we discussed earlier, here's a report from Andrea just to be sure.

Dear ,

Good morning,
Thank you for your email.
Your tuition fees have to be paid once we submit your documents at the Migration. The Migration will not release your visa if you do not pay your tuition fees. We are going to submit your documents on the 27th of July.
Your Bank Statement needs to be issued after 27th of June.

Dear Osamede,

It is my pleasure to inform you that based on your academic qualifications you have been admitted to the University of Nicosia!

Please find here attached your official acceptance letter.

Upon your arrival you will be suggested to take an English Placement Test.

For more information, please follow the link:

http://www.unic.ac.cy/study-with-us/english-placement-test

Please note that the Migration Department of Cyprus will not accept any applications from students who have not paid the student visa fee of 86 EUR and the application fee of 55 EUR prior to submission of documents. It is strongly recommended that these fees are paid within one month of receiving your Acceptance Letter.

Visa documents:

Please read carefully the visa procedure in page 2 of your acceptance letter and the additional guidelines here below regarding the visa procedure.

We welcome you into the program and we wish you success!
Additional Guidelines for Visa Documents:

•          Non-Governmental documents (i.e. Blood test report, chest x-ray report, bank verification letter and bank statement) must include the name and contact information of the issuing authority (i.e. bank contact details, medical laboratory details, etc.) otherwise will NOT be accepted by the Migration Department.

•          Bank Verification Letter:  The bank verification letter must clearly state that the student’s sponsor has the financial ability to support his/her living and tuition expenses.  Sponsor may only be father/mother/self.  The letter must also clearly state the relationship between sponsor and student.

•          A supporting bank statement must be included with the bank verification letter which clearly shows the minimum amount of €7000 into the student’s/sponsor’s account and it should be issued within 30 days prior to the submission of the application.

•          All documents must be officially translated into English by an approved translator and must be attested by the proper authorities (Notary Public).

Ms. Andrea Andreou

No school fees thing was actually mentioned and I have been speaking with andrea, she said I have to apply for visa first before school fees payment
That's fine. You are on the right path and we have both been talking to the same people. So if you were told not to bother about paying any tuition deposit prior the visa application in Cyprus, then you can adhere to the instruction then. Guess you will be fine irrespective. Do you mind if I ask the progress u have made so far?

Goodday everyone,
Been following this thread for quite sometime, based on what you said @wip7 about paying part of the tuition fees before visa process in SC, I'm a little bit confused, cos I applied to the university of nicosia and the process is quite different, I was admitted and told to pay the app fee and visa fee, then apply for visa, then an entry visa will be given, before I can then pay the school fees, but what u said is quite different, so please I need you to shed more light on it? Thank you
The school still strongly advice prospective students to pay a minimum deposit of € 4500 application and visa fee inclusive before a visa application is being made on the student’s behalf just to avoid any loopholes or reason for denial by the Migration Department. Who have u been communicating with in the school?

marcyemi:
thanks Mr wip7 but does that mean I won't be able to study abroad
You should apply to schools in South Cyprus. There's no age restriction whatsoever.

No I haven't. I was directed to pay that alongside tuition.

Awesome then. We both in same phase, waiting patiently for next directive. People living there already will have a better answer to how life is there generally.

Goodday guys
Please I need ur help(advise)
I need to send money to an account in cyprus (app fee and visa fee) from nigeria,
I was told to first open a gtb domiciliary account, and I went there and was told to get two persons with current account in gtb to stand for me, which is going to take long, so please is there any other way, university of nicosia is the school in question
Yes you will need a dormicilary account to be able to make transfers abroad. You may have to find a means of getting those guarantors as opening the account will be very useful to you in future as you will have to pay your tuition as well. Have you been admitted already at UNIC?

Yeah the procedures for Republic of Cyprus Migration have changed dramatically as from the previous semester and there is no need for student interviews any more, which means provided all the documents submitted to the College/University are genuine, correctly attested and submitted on time, the visa is almost guaranteed but not 100% ooooooooooooooooo

Note: Many parameters will be checked to ensure you are financially sound and don't have ulterior motives during the visa assessment.
Was told all required to show for proof of funds is a bank statement with a minimum balance of £7000. I am optimistic and thanks for your words of encouragement. I best believe things will fall in place.
TravelRe: North Cyprus by Itstyme(m):
wip7:
The Visa procedure changes now at South Cyprus. For Most African countries, it will be submitted by the university on behalf of the applicants. So since the university already said no problem then...submit what they required from you. Best wishes.
Thank you. I appreciate. Does this mean visa interview will not be conducted here in Nigeria anymore?

The school have said ok, why do you not believe them?
They are the ones sponsoring you for a visa.
Probably fear of the unknown. Don't mind me but you know the school ain't the one issuing the visa but I am going with their words still. Just a bit curious, I have been through a few denials in the past and I will never want to go through that phase again.

University of Nicosia is located in South Cyprus (Another country different from North Cyprus), with different visa procedure. You will apply for the visa at Cyprus consulate in Lagos. You will have to send the university your health records and sponsor details. After then the university will submit to Cyprus migration board and if you are found eligible, your pre-visa will be approved and then you visit the consulate. The consulate may approve your visa if there is a logical reason why you are just starting undergraduate at that age and if you have good sponsor.

NOTE: south Cyprus is not particular about age but about money (if you are capable to pay), also if truly you are going to study.
HI Mr Wip, While reading through I saw this post. I am in the same shoes right now and I will like to confirm from you if the possibilities are high regards visa issuance looking at the age. I know u have stated your point but that's like 2years ago. Would you still recommend same advise? I am 29yrs old going for a Bachelors, have gotten an admission already with University of Nicosia and they assure me it's not a problem as long as all required documents are being met. They will be handling the whole visa processing and documentation on my behalf. Just an advise from you.

Hi Guys, please I would like to ask what are the recent chances of being granted an undergraduate admission into any of the free Finnish Unis as I learnt some years back schools stopped admitting Nigerians based on incredibility. Has this changed? Or this was never in existence? Thanks as I look forward to get a response based on this.

TravelRe: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part2 by Itstyme(m): 8:28pm On Sep 01, 2014
DonOms: Okay.
Just like Oga Justwise said, I sincerely doubt your reason of refusal was all there is to it. I am placing a bet on the gap of 9 years causing the initial "hole" that made them call for a 2nd interview.

Have you been working in either IT/computing for the 9-year period?
Also, when is your latest course start date and have you sent your refusal letter to your School's Admission Office?

Update: I have just read your replies to others who comments on your post. Tour school will prefer AR because they don't like it when their prospective students get denied visa. Make sure that your school contacts UKVI in support of your AR as it may make it faster. I hope it works out perfectly.
Hopefully! All works out and if not, oh well..... and yes I did work as an IT assistant for 6 years before my present job... letters and employment letters to this was attached to my app but still ........................

sashacoleman: Awwww, my almost school...

Reapply from either Ikeja or Abuja, becos theyre faster. During the interview, make sure you explain that you are indeed a genuine student, you need to be very confident.

If you want to reapply, I suggest you do it quick, try and get an extension from your school and don't forget to commit it into God's hands.
Thanks. Had contacted the international officer and he advised an admin review is the best option. Fingers crossed...
TravelRe: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part2 by Itstyme(m): 4:55pm On Sep 01, 2014
DonOms: I am very sorry about the denial.
You literally have no shot with an AR and besides there is no time for it if you want to re-apply.

You were called for a second interview probably because the ECO spotted some "holes" in your application so you ought to have made the best of it. When did you finish your OND and what UK Uni did you get your admission in?

If you can defer your admission and wait till the next admission period (hopefully your school has January admission), then try it. But if not, you can re-apply since you still have 19 working days (depending on when you get your new CAS). Is there a latest course start date?
Finished 9years ago and have been working ever since up till date. Submitted all employment history letters and certificate to support my claim.
Got admission with Brunel Uni.
TravelRe: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part2 by Itstyme(m): 4:50pm On Sep 01, 2014
justwise: I understand that...but i'm just going by my gut feeling that visa refusal solely on that one reason is strange. If you met all other requirements, able to speak and understand questions at the interview then not knowing all the modules of your course should be the least of their worries because you haven't started this course.

Maybe you need time to get yourself together and consider what DonOms said in his post.
Thanks for your words. I am just still shocked but am looking through the best possible situation now. That was the sole reason he gave; at least if there was any other he would have stated it in the refusal letter. Tnx all same. Appreciate your time
TravelRe: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part2 by Itstyme(m): 4:47pm On Sep 01, 2014
koded1999: I think the best shot is to reapply, if your course start 29th. Request a new cas from your school and an extension. And during the interview make sure your answer is short and detailed. For example like the question about your course: you could say something like "its a 3 years full time course with modules including programming, database management, e-commerce and artificial intelligence. Avoid long answers and be calm. Hope that helps.
Thanks for your concern and advise. Looking through the best possible means now.
TravelRe: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part2 by Itstyme(m): 3:03pm On Sep 01, 2014
justwise: I'm not really getting the whole answer from your reply hence my question...do you mind uploading the refusal letter here? Blank all personal details and upload only the reason for refusal. Will that be an issue?
Prolly cos am not in the right frame of mind. I ll just state as it is written.... " I asked u about your course and you stated it had 6major and 12 elective ones. However u were able to name 3 major n 3 elective ones. Your lack of knowledge of your course is not reflective of a genuine student. On the balance of probabilities, I refuse your application under paragraph 245zv(k) of the immigration rules.
TravelRe: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part2 by Itstyme(m): 2:35pm On Sep 01, 2014
justwise: Apart from the course question what other question(s) were you asked and answer given?
All previous and normal questions that we all are aware of and he also asked about finances which I gave a detailed response. The bone of contention here is the course modules. That is the only reason why he denied me and he stated it clearly on the refusal letter.
TravelRe: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part2 by Itstyme(m): 1:31pm On Sep 01, 2014
santhu123: Unfortunately, if you are refused as 'not a genuine student' , the ECO can refuse you once again based on the same ground. He will look into the data provided in the next application, very carefully than before for material change. You have to produce the documents, very relevant and you may also give an affidavit, that you will study and leave the country after completion of the course. Get yourself ready for a long face to face interview with the ECO next time.

I don't think we have much time to spend on Administrative Review. If you have then its worth the try.
I have no time for admin review as classes starts on the 29th Sept. I am honestly depressed and I have no distinct idea on what to really do. Admin review will take long hence am looking at replying. @Justwise, SpikeC, DonOms, please I need your expertise on this.

After waiting for over 23 working days I got my visa denied under the basis of not being a genuine student. I did all that was needed to be done but guess I was just unfortunate. I was called for a second interview after having a successful first. During the second interview, the ECO asked me to state all the course modules which out of 12 I mentioned 6. Surprisingly, receiving my package this morning, he denied me based on the fact I was unable to mention all the modules and he made up his mind I am not a genuine student... This is so sad.. Guys! I intend to reapply asap, what do you suggest...

mun0513: @justwise, @spikesC and other gurus,

I will really appreciate if you can answer few of my concerns.

1) I have applied for Tier 4 Visa on 7th August and since then 11 working days have passed. I haven't got any reply from BHC but only 1 SMS stating that Application has been forwarded to UKVI.
I tried to contact UKVI through email and have received a response that 'My application is still waiting to be assessed by an Entry Clearance Officer'.
Is it normal and should I wait until 15 working days' duration is completed?

2) I have submitted an original bank statement dated: 5th August 2014 with following transactions:

6th July Balance Carried forward
7th July Last Deposit Amount

That's it. No transaction has been processed during 28 days. Therefore, to support this bank statement. I have submitted a bank Letter addressing to Visa Officer, BHC that The Current Balance is so and so which is ending on closing business date 4th August 2014.
I have also mentioned in Additional Section of Visa application form to review this bank letter along with bank statement. Am I good to go?

Your prompt response will be greatly appreciated. This waiting period is killing me cheesy

Regards and Thanks in advance smiley
From my present experience and previous post on this thread, every application and processing time varies. As long as u contacted UKVI and u are being told its still under process, u have nothing to worry about. All u might just need to do is exercise more patience just like I have told myself. They will surely get back to u when necessary.
