Oyeleye2011: I apply to okanagan college this december for a diploma course by september, 2014 but since I send my application form and waec result to the admission e-mail, I have not received any message from the college. Is it that my application has been accepted or not. I put my mastercard detail in the application form for them to deduct the application fee. Please, am I on the right track of applying to this college or not. It is upto 2 weeks now. No response from the college. Pls anyone in okanagan college should help me out with the application process.
I will advise you call them on the phone to lay your complaint. That's quite better since u haven't gotten a response via email and moreover was the application fee ever deducted from your account? If no, then u haven't applied.

britiko: My dear, I understand that one man's meat is another's poison.
U need not get worked up unneccessarily. I voiced my opinion and not forcing it on anyone.
Next tym u learn to be polite, don't tell me to go figure...
D last tym I got close to boarding an ethiopian plane at doha, I backed out. It was more of a flying coffin. Very old and rickety looking. I know ethiopian is better than some of our local airlines, but not qatar and emirates. I fly only arik within.
Do not be upset if u feel offended.
All in all, its my opinion.
Aii Boss man.

britiko: Whao ,I love emirates and qatar, anyday, any- time. Dey r d bomb. Its just d 19hrs dats my challenge.
Dey just signed a $76billion deal with boeing for 156 new planes. So dier planes r good, 5 star travel experience unlike DELTA, UNITED even turkish but he better pass ethiopian. Me I no go near ethiopian aircraft o. SAFETY first na my watch word.
FYI, looking at standards, services and aircraft comfortability , Ethiopia is way better than Qatar. They ve got all what u might desire in an air travel but just the name Ethiopia seems scary to you which isn't so at all. Go figure...

Hey Guys, I am a bit confused regards the required maintenance funds; the school I intend applying with stated in the offer letter all I need to show is a 9 months living expenses proof i.e £800 * 9 months and also had come across on this thread sometimes that what is required is a 12 months proof. Can someone pls give the correct info on this as its a bit confusing now.

Onye oma: To add to what has already been said:
In that case, you can go with the company S0A but pls tell ur dad that @ every point in time during the processing of ur application, he should always try to leave a min. balance of a good sum cos no one knows when the embassy might contact the bank for the confirmation of the a/c...
It is assumed that the company is in operation on a daily basis and the operational expenses is being serviced by the company a/c as well (Plus the money ur dad wants to use in sponsoring ur education)...so have that @ d back of ur mind while coming up with the closing balance to work with.

I wish you all the best...
Thank you very much and you are absolutely right. God bless you.

miss bon: personal acct
In a case like this, which is preferable? A sponsor's company account (owner) or sponsor's personal account? NB: The company's account has better financial details and balance.

olabo_key: Hello Peeps, I received instruction from CDHC to pay 1 yr tuition + board. A beg my College (Senecca) advises Travelex Bank to Bank transfer is the most efficient method of payment that others take 4-8 weeks to get my student account credited. Has someone used this before? any info/idea would be gladly appreciated.... mo' dupe o!
Yea go ahead with the Travelex option. Its the best for any payment to Seneca. Also can you take time out to help state thru the process of your application; online or paper route and what are your supporting documents. Congrats in advance Mate

Don Oms: Life is all about choices! All these countries have their advantages and disadvantages but ultimately, favour is most important. No one can tell you which country is better to the other, you can only be told the advantages and disadvantages of one over the other. The choice, eventually, will be yours. That said, search deep within yourself about what you want and research each country in line with your desire, then make a choice irrespective of your visa refusal history. We will always be here to answer your questions as long as we have answers to them. All the best in your choice.
Thanks a whole lot and I appreciate.

ochukoccna: I don't know much about Australia but it seems a place to go to if emigration is at the back of your mind
The best of the lot is Canada knowing in 3 years you can get your legit citizenship papers unlike the UK
Personally wanted to go to Canada when my initial attempts to come to the UK were delayed but the school told me I could only get a refund of my initial deposit if I was refused an entry visa [yet EU and UK citizens could get theirs back with no strings attached] embarassed embarassed
If you are planning on emigration look to Canada and Australia [though I must admit I don't know much about Australia but it seems to hold better allure than the UK so do your research and confirm]
UK dey look for your money, datz all
I recall looking around during a general class yesterday and seeing majority of the Masters students are from Asia and Africa, a little from Eastern Europe and the least were UK citizens
If many of foreign students sought out studying else were, UK go shake financially cool cool
Thanks my man.. You have spoken well as had expected. Am just trying to get the right one done as I have had cases of denial in the past for both countries i.e UK & Canada, I applied for a Canadian study permit but was denied sometime last year and the fear of denial is one thing that I wouldn't want to let occur again. The UK Visa policy at the moment is straight forward and I believe once one can meet all requirements, the chances of denial is low i wanna guess unlike that of Canada after submitting all required documents and follow protocols, one still gets denied. Well at this point I will just have to make a swift decision and see what will work best. @Justwise, I need your advise on this issue as well..
Thanks

@Ochukoccna,

Ok bro! I do understand perfectly so I will oblige as you have said. Am just on that level of making a decision on which way to go. The inability of one not being able to work part time for a whole year is really giving me concern. Thinking of either Canada or Australia alongside the UK as have got admission offer in all these countries. Can you advise ?
TravelRe: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part2 by Itstyme(m): 9:04pm On Oct 21, 2013
ochukoccna: Justwise is SPOT ON regarding having money for at least 6 months in this land
I understood better when I got here
It is a WONDERFUL place to live, if you can pay your bills
That been said if you have relatives/friends who WILL WILLINGLY help, that's great
That apart, this land will unleash its horrors to you
However recall Justwise telling you might survive on 500quid a month
Firstly, its because Inner London IS THE MOST EXPENSIVE PLACE IN THE UK and this has higher bills
Also note that he's assuming 300-350 will get you 'liveable accommodation' for up north I know students paying as about that in private accommodation
The rest 150 will be mostly on feeding and a few essentials minus clothing and transportation
He and by extension me are not trying to scare you but letting you know what awaits
So do plan your coming well before buying your plane ticket
You might take out time know learn and acquire skills you can trade for cash when you start hustling here
Life is simpler here but then the thing about the white man is , SHOW ME THE MONEY
Wish you well
Well said my man and I appreciate time taken out to share sincere views with me. Appreciate!!!

justwise: If you get a room for 300-350 pounds a month including all bills then you 'might' survive on 150 pounds a month...hoping that your school is a walking distance from your house.
That sounds cool then. Yea! The housing the school is getting is just a stone throw from the College... Thanks a lot
TravelRe: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part2 by Itstyme(m): 1:59pm On Oct 21, 2013
justwise: [/b]

This is simple, if you don't have money to survive in the UK atleast for the first 6months, the chances of you surviving a month (forget about a year) is almost zero. I'm not trying to scare you but telling you raw truth.
@Justwise, Thanks and I dig what you meant bro but I think with what you just said, if one is funded with some reasonable amount of money for the stipulated time, one should be in good hands? For example aside the norm 800 pounds per month required by the UK Embassy, do you feel a 500 pounds per month budget will be sufficient for cost of living and housing under the basis of one be moderate and very minimal in expenses. Location is inner London...Thanks

Hey Guys, I just found out the school I intend studying, if given a study permit under them, I won't be allowed to work part time for the first year being a college but would be able to for the rest 2 years of the study which is affiliated to a University leading to a Bachelors. Please what are the possible chances of one surviving through the hustle and bustle of the UK without working for a whole year to support oneself? Please I need an advise on this as I am quite confused right now.
