Good everyone is true that Belgium embassy take long time to give decision if someone is applying for short stay visa. I read some tread that it takes more than 2months to give decision.

Submit the documents required for the embassy you are applying to .
If you are using vfs , they have a pre- scrutiny desk , if they don't need it , they will give you back .

For your son , you can pay for insurance for both of you but check to ensure his name is listed( usually on the 2nd page ) and the number of passengers is reflected on the insurance
They allow up to 10 or 20 names for those travelling as a group .
It's okay to book your hotel and flight together but print a copy for your son for each of the booking ..even your bank statement . Although you are applying together but it's going to be treated seperately , he will also need to have his own docs which will be kept in between his passport .

You can not use just any insurance company, their are listed insurance companies approved for shengen visa application which I believe Allianz insurance should be among.

The visa fee has now increased due to the current exchange rate. It’s now 90793. This is new information from people that submitted their documents this week.

filled that I wanted to travel on the 15th September but ii noticed it started reading from the 11th of August . Earlier than the date I specified.
The dates you will be issued will cover the period of your travel . Could be a few days / weeks before and after

Through VFS, target month ends and beginning of the months. Slots are always available for the fastest fingers!

If it's issued, it depends on your travel dates. If you stated 20th on September on your application, it would become valid from that date for another 28/30days. The duration of stay is the max number of days you can stay within the validity. It will be stated on the Passport

I was given 12 September for documents submission for job seekers visa at the embassy. I applied in july

I tried to submit on July 14 at VFS Lagos. My application was rejected. The supervisor was called and he told me Portugal embassy sent them email not to collect job seeker visa application.
