Vibesking: I've been using my RN7 for almost a year now without any screen protector and I've not had a single scratch on the screen!
However, as a new user back then, I was very cautious of my device. I didn't wanna take chances even though the manufacturer explicitly stated the phone came with a Gorilla Glass 5 (the best back then as far as durability is concerned).
So I opted to get a screen protector during the first month I bought the device. I ordered from AliExpress and the tempered glass arrived in a few weeks.
I was glad. At least my device would have extra protection. But unfortunately, my excitement was short-lived.
As I was about putting the tempered glass on, it broke! I dunno how it happened but it broke even before I had the opportunity to have it settled on my phone screen.
Apparently, the tempered glass I was hoping would protect my phone was even more fragile than Cabin biscuit.
I thought about getting another tempered glass. But once bitten, twice shy. So I said screw it! Ama use my device with no screen guard whatsoever.
It's been almost 12 months and I and my phone have lived happily ever after since then.
The weird stuff is, my phone still looks like it was bought yesterday! I would love to applaud my cautiousness, but I don't think I'm really that careful.
I sleep on it mistakenly [sometimes]. My female friends take it away for hours for photos and movies. It has fallen from a transit. It has dropped from my hands [countlessly]. It's been mistakenly thrown to a wall.
Behold, my RN7 liveth on. NO SCRATCH on the screen! Probably I'm just lucky.
However, here's my final verdict: If your screen takes a hit than it can bear, it will crack! Tempered glass or no tempered glass.
The Gorilla Glass 5 is solid. It can withstand a considerably strong hit and even repel scratches (I can attest to this). As for tempered glass, in whatever variation they come, they offer no real protection for your device. You're better off using your device without one. If i own a Redmi phone, i won't use a screen protector. But this nonsense lenovo screen wey i dey use, dey scratch like mad. The screen protector don scatter, i comot am yesterday |

sajmark: good morning fam. I am facing the temptation to remove/discard my screen guard, because it reduces the beauty and clarity of the phone screen. I am only considering this because my phone uses the Corning gorilla glass 5 (Redmi 7) but I really need first hand experience from guys who have been using their device without screen guard, is the Corning gorilla glass as hard as they advertise? is it really scratch resistant? please advise, to prevent the adventure from ending in tears. Apply liquid screen protector |

Bahddo: well, ignorance knows no religion (or absence of it). There's always something we don't know. The belligerent exists on both sides and we can't really decide what they choose to do on their day of folly.
The best any of us (regardless of the beliefs we hold dear or reject) can do is try not to be the same as them.
Cheers. You're a very wise man |

abdsamad: I think we'll just have to accept that our eyes and brain do yanny and laurel periodocally. because me I don't know how you came to conclude that atheistandproud's response was the problem. He criticised the guy's religion in response to the unprovoked attack on his stand on religion. It's okay to swing back when someone punches you. I can't even begin to imagine how many times a day he has to deal with assholes who attack him for no reason. Putting yourself in his shoes may help.
But like i said, maybe its just yanny and laurel. What do I know? Bahddo has explained where I was coming from. I rest |

atheistandproud: No sir, a dichotomy is not an insult, it means a contrast between two things and was written by men who were herders but if my grammar was offensive to you. I apologize.
I am also within my rights to feel offended. Sadly like the meme I posted, religious people go out of their way to attack irreligious folk with uttermost disrespect and yet expect the same to take it on the chin. If you retaliate in like manner, people ask you to be respectful. It doesn't work like that. If you denigrate someone else, then expect it two fold. If you play stupid games, then you win stupid prizes. It's that simple. Ok |
Phones › Re: The Xiaomi Thread. by ityP(m): 6:56am On May 16, 2020 |
Bahddo: e don do na. The thing is, there are others (besides the person you referred to) who would be offended also, because religion is a shared thing.
You are within your rights to get upset and react, but note that there are others reading who would also get offended by your own reaction. They also have the right to feel offended that their religion is attacked just because some other person said something silly to you.
Revenge is a never-ending cycle. Sheath your sword. Exactly what I've been saying. I rest my case sha |
