I am glad that Father Mbaka of the Catholic Church has finally seen the light and that he has denounced the Buhari regime.

This coming from a man that once supported the President vigorously, even when members of his own flock and faith were being slaughtered, marginalised and humiliated, is cheery news.

Yet there are still many more Church leaders that supported the Buhari government, that sold their souls to the devil and that need to follow Mbaka’s example and recant.

The great philosopher, writer and intellectual Mr. Dante Alighieri once said that “the hottest place in hell is reserved for those who maintain their neutrality at a time of moral crisis”.

To add to this it was our very own Professor Wole Soyinka, the distinguished Nobel Laureate, that said “the man died in him who remained silent in the face of tyrrany”.

I have no doubt in my mind that this is the time to speak out because we are not only in a time of great moral crisis in our country but we are also facing persecution and wholesale tyrrany.

I am making this contribution not out of fear for the plight of the Christendom in Nigeria because I know that, as the Holy Bible says, “the gates of hell cannot prevail against the Church”. It also says “He who watches over Israel neither slumbers nor sleeps”.

It follows that no matter what the enemies of the gospel throw our way, including one million President Buhari’s, at the end of the day we shall prevail.

I am making this contribution not out of fear or to divide our nation but rather in an attempt to inform the Nigerian people and the world about what is really going on in President Buhari’s Nigeria.

What many fail to appreciate is that the Church and the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ was built and spread by the blood and the bones of the Christian martyrs.

It follows that the more you persecute, jail and kill Christians and the more you subject them to terror, shame, insensitivity and humiliation the more the Church grows.

Where the so-called “great” Christian leaders of Christendom with the mega-Churches and the better known Pastors and Bishops in the land have compromised with evil and have chosen to either side with the enemy or remain silent when confronted with the tyrrany of the state, the Lord will raise other voices to stand up for and speak for His people.

Nobody is indispensible to the Living God, no matter how large, rich and powerful your Church is and no matter how many people you have in your congregation.

Once you have betrayed the faith and joined hands with those that seek to destroy the gospel and persecute Christians in our country you are finished and your end has already been determined by God. It is just a matter of time.

Yet thankfully there are some men and women of God that have refused to be silenced, that have proved to the world that they are not cowards and that have chosen to remain true to the faith.

These are the true believers who have not sold their heritage, faith and future for a mess of pottage. These are the faithful remnant who have refused to sit back silently and watch our Lord and His message being crucified all over again. These are the true saints whose reward is the Kingdom of God.

An example is Pastor Bright Bayo Oladeji, who is a journalist by profession and a Baptist preacher by calling. On the 2nd August 2016 he wrote the following on his Facebook page.

“Where are the Christians who sold the Church? The Islamic agenda is being perfected. Professor Ishaq Oloyede, a prominent Islamic fanatic who said he was not aware Christians are being attacked and killed is now to head JAMB replacing Prof Ojerinde, a Baptist.

Four Muslims were not replaced but left to continue. Out of the 17 offices, 9 new replacement are Muslims and 4 retained are Muslims. 13 out of 17 are now Muslims. NUC, Muslim. JAMB, Muslim. TETCOM, Muslim.

Where are those Christian leaders who sold the Church for a plate of porridge? Where are those telling us Professor Yemi Osinbajo would stand for the Church being a Pastor?

Do they involve him in all these lopsided appointments in favour of the North and Muslims or not? Do we have Christians among the APC leaders? Does Odigie-Oyegun, the National Chairman of the ruling party really belong to the Catholic church?

The fact that Buhari released these appointments the same day that the PUNCH Newspaper published an editorial titled”Buhari’s parochial appointments” (this is a paper that endorsed his candidacy) is a dirty slap on the nation.

To say the least, it is a corruption with impunity. Many are afraid to speak out and are being intimidated by the security operatives. Have we become second class citizens in our own country?”

Pastor Bayo, as insightful and courageous as ever, has asked a pertinent question.

Sadly the answer to that question is “YES”: since Buhari came to power Christians have become second class citizens in Nigeria. We warned our people but they wouldn’t listen.

Nigerians said they wanted “change” and now they must live with it. Every Christian that supported President Buhari and the APC, including some of the most prominent Church leaders, should bow their heads in shame.

As long as this evil continues we will not remain silent and neither shall we be intimidated. No matter how hard they try Nigeria will NEVER be Islamised and neither will our Christian faith be rubbished.

When Christians are treated with respect and dignity and when they are honored in the land that is when we will know that true change has come.

When Yoruba Muslims are allowed to lead their northern counter-parts in prayer in the mosque that is when we will know that true change has come.

When the secularity of the Nigerian state is reiterated and confirmed that is when we will know that true change has come.

When southerners are regarded as being on the same levell as northerners in the affairs of our nation that is when we will know that true change has come.

When the murderous Fulani herdsmen and militias are finally diasarmed and when they stop slaughtering our people with impunity and without any fear of retribution from the state that is when we will know that true change has come.

When Christians are no longer murdered in cold blood in some parts of the north simply for exercising their faith whilst the govetnment turns a blind eye that is when we will know that true change has come.

When Christians leaders are no longer subjected to insults and brutal assault by over- zealous security agents simply for praying and reading the Holy Bible that is when we will know that true change has come.

When the Igbo people are not treated as pariah citizens and when their children are no longer shot in the streets like stray dogs simply because, as a people, they have their own dreams and aspirations and simply because they are protesting against the manifest injustice that they have been subjected to in the land, that is when we will know that true change has come.

When Middle Belters and the northern minorities are allowed to carve out their own identity and when they are freed from the intimidation, harassment, hegemony, genocide, cultural imperialism and slavery of the core Muslim north then we will know that true change has come.
Until then the change that the Buhari administration has offered and served to the Nigerian people is nothing but fake. It is a classic case of 419. It is evil. It is wicked. It is nothing but a monuemental fraud.

Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo, Gombe State Governor has appointed the son of former governor Danjuma Goje as Special Adviser and Managing Director of Gombe Leasing Company.

Alhaji Ahmad Danjuma Goje, who is the eldest son of Senator Goje, was yesterday sworn-in alongside five others at the government house.

Senator Goje, who is representing Gombe Central in the Senate has been at loggerheads with Governor Dankwambo since 2011, especially after handing over power to his successor.

The six other special advisers sworn-in alongside Danjuma Goje, include Mr. Lewi Lasare, House of Assembly Matters; Mrs. Dudu Mamman Manuga, Director General, Gombe State Enterprises Development and Promotion Agency and Alhaji Bello Sulaiman, Chairman, Sport Commission.

Others are Alhaji Nasiru Haruna, General Manager, Gombe State Environmental Protection Agency (GOSEPA); Alhaji Jalo Ganga, Managing Director, Gombe State Investment and Property Development Company and Alhaji Ahmed Damji, Chairman Board of Internal Revenue.

The governor urged them to work diligently and harmoniously with other public officers toward the development of the state.

Everyone is at risk of skin cancer, both Black and Whites, regardless of race. Such a conclusion was made by a team of researchers from the Case Western Reserve University, in Cleveland.

The study involved nearly 97,000 patients diagnosed with skin cancer, also known as melanoma, between 1992 and 2009.

It showed that patients of African-American descent were more likely to die from skin cancer, while people with white skin are more prone to this type of cancer but also have the best survival rates.

Hispanic patients were second most likely to survive the deadly disease, followed by Asian American’s, Native American’s and Pacific Islanders.

Study author Dr Jeremy Bordeaux said: “Everyone is at risk for skin cancer, regardless of race. Patients with skin of colour may believe they aren’t at risk, but that is not the case and when they do get skin cancer, it may be especially deadly.

Because skin cancer can affect anyone, everyone should be proactive about skin cancer prevention and detection. Don’t let this potentially deadly disease sneak up on you because you don’t think it can happen to you.”

Scientists believe that phenomenon is explained by black patients disbelief that irregular spots on their skin could pose a risk. Besides, there may be biologic differences in melanoma among patients with skin of colour, resulting in more aggressive disease in these patients.

But more research is necessary to determine why survival rates differ among different ethnic groups. Meanwhile, doctors recommend to seek shade, wear protective clothing, and use a broad-spectrum, water-resistant sunscreen with high SPF regardless of skin colour.

A startling showing a dog being dragged to death behind its owner’s car has sparked enormous outrage in China. The disturbing footage was captured in Shandong, an eastern Chinese province, on Monday.

It shows a small dog being dragged behind the vehicle by a rope tied around its neck, scraping its paws and sides on the road as it struggles to keep up with the moving SUV

As more bystanders witnessed the animal’s intolerable treatment, people began following the driver until the car was surrounded by hundreds of furious Chinese people demanding an end to the cruel behavior.
Police and a SWAT team were then

reportedly summoned to the scene to break up the swelling crowd who pulled the man from his SUV and began punching him.

Some of those gathered around the bloodied dog cried as it died from its injuries a short time later.

Within hours of the horrific incident, footage had spread widely across Chinese social media, with the car owner’s name, phone number, company and home address being shared online.

In an effort to calm the media storm that refused to dissipate, the man in question – referred to by local media under the pseudonym ‘Qi Qing’ – released a statement that said his actions were [/b]“ ill-advised ” and expressed “ deep apology ” for what he had done.[b]

Xinhua reports that Qing went on to explain that he had rescued the dog from a shelter two years beforehand and it had bitten him twice and a colleague once which caused “ great harm ”.

Police said the driver has been arrested and they are investigating the incident.

Muslims in France have attended Catholic mass in churches and cathedrals across the country in a show of solidarity following the gruesome murder of a French priest. Interfaith services were also held in Italy.

Dozens of Muslims were among the faithful who packed into the Gothic cathedral in the town of Rouen, northern France, on Sunday.

Policemen and soldiers stood guard outside, seeking to reassure a jittery community five days after two jihadi teenagers killed an 85-year-old priest inside a church just a few kilometers away in Saint-Etienne-du-Rouvray.

"This morning we extend a special welcome to our Muslim friends,"Rouen Archbishop Dominique Lebrun said in his homily.

"I thank you in the name of all Christians. In this way you are affirming that you reject death and violence in the name of God."

A number of Muslim leaders attended the service, along with three nuns who were at the church in Saint-Etienne-du-Rouvray when Father Jacques Hamel was brutally murdered at the altar.

The killing gave rise to questions about lapses in security after it was reported that both 19-year-old offenders were known to authorities and had attempted to reach Syria. There were also fears the attack could create possible tensions between the religions and add to divisions in French society.

French Prime Minister Manuel Valls on Sunday called for a new "pact" with the country's 5 million Muslims, which make up the largest Muslim population in Europe.

"Islam has found its place in France... contrary to the repeated attacks of populists on the right and far-right," he said, calling for the rejection of Islam to be combatted "with the greatest strength."

Churches in other French cities also opened their doors to Muslims on Sunday. Dalil Boubakeur, the rector of the Mosque of Paris, was among those who attended congregation in the capital's iconic Notre Dame cathedral.

"The situation is serious," he told broadcaster BFMTV. "Time has come to come together so as not to be divided."

Multifaith services were held across Italy too, notably at Rome's Santa Maria di Trastevere church. In Naples, Abdullah Cozzolino from Italy's Islamic Confederation spoke in the Treasure of St. Gennaro chapel next to the Duomo cathedral, stressing the [/b] "need of dialogue, more affirmation of shared values of peace, of solidarity, of love, out of respect for our one God, merciful and compassionate."[b]

Chinedu Ibe, a 24-year-old 200-level Imo State University student, was brought before an Igbosere Magistrate’s Court sitting in Lagos state, for alleged damage and stealing of car parts yesterday.

Ibe said he was told by friends that he could only get clean cars to steal parts from at Lekki.

He faces a-two-charge of stealing and damage, preferred against him by the police.

The prosecutor, Sergeant Cyriacus Osuji, while reading out the charge, explained to the court that the crime was committed on July 24 at about 2:10am. at a commercial bank at Oniru Estate Victoria Island, Eti-Osa, Lagos.

He further stated that the defendant destroyed the side glasses of five cars parked within the bank’s premises, all valued at N900,000.
The prosecutor noted that the offence contravenes Section 409 and 348 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.

Ibe however, said he was brought into the business by one Chidi, whose address he could not tell.

Ibe and his aunt live in Ojo Local Government area of the state.
He told the court, “Chidi, who introduced me into this business, told me that it is only in Lekki I can find good cars and good parts to steal.

“I have stolen seven cars, four from Surulere and three from Okoko. What surprises me is that it is this same Chidi that buys these stolen parts from me.
“The highest price this Chidi has paid me for these parts is N28,000 and what keeps me amazed is that Chidi has been protecting me from the police.

“Whenever the police are after me, I usually call Chidi and we meet somewhere in coconut and then he resolves the issues.”
He was granted bail in the sum of N100,000 by magistrate, Mrs Adepoju, with two sureties in like sum.

The Magistrate said the sureties must be related to the defendant and must provide evidence of two years tax payment and their addresses verified.
The matter was adjourned to September 20 for mention.

Pastor Enoch Adeboye, The Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, General-Overseer has declared that he will not seek vengeance against killers of a member of his church, Deaconess Olawale Elisha, who was gruesomely murdered while evangelizing in Kubwa, FCT.

Daddy GO, as he is fondly called, stated this on Friday during a Ministers’ Conference at the Redemption Camp, Kilometer 46, Lagos – Ibadan Expressway.

Elisha, an assistant pastor at the church’s Divine Touch parish, was slain by unidentified persons on June 9 at Gbazango-West area of Kubwa, a satellite town in the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, while on Morning Cry.

The General-Overseer noted that since Elisha was on the divine mission to win souls for Jesus Christ, it would be unscriptural and anti-Christ to pray for the death or even seek to kill the same souls she sought to save.

He said, “I’m not looking for vengeance. I won’t listen to people asking me to seek vengeance.

“I won’t pursue the case. That’ll be contrary to what she wanted.

“She wanted them saved, not killed.

“What will their killing do for me?”

The Inspector-General of Police, Ag.IGP Ibrahim K. Idris, NPM, mni has warned criminals, especially kidnappers in the country never to think Nigeria is lawless.

IGP Idris gave the warning when Operatives of the IGP’s Intelligent Response Team “IRT” arrested a notorious kidnapping gang known to have been terrorizing law-abiding citizens in Rivers State and its environs.

The gang met its end when they kidnapped a woman and her one year old daughter from her Port Harcourt home, demanding the sum of two million, five hundred thousand naira as ransom for their freedom. Based on credible technical intelligence generated by the IRT, this was however agreed as bait.

But the end of the kidnapping gang came when in their attempt to claim the said sum of money at the agreed point; Operatives of IRT engaged them, rescued the victims and arrested four of the kidnappers who gave their names as: Herbert Oriminagbe, Chijioke Akah, alias Kottos, Kelechi Nwaordu, alias Seedof and Nelson Ajumogobia alias Ibios.

In their confessional statements, the gang admitted that they were also responsible for the kidnap of one Undunobuk and other innocent Nigerians.

Going through a laptop computer recovered from them, it was discovered that the real owner Undunobuk was once robbed in his Port Harcourt residence and later kidnapped to unknown seaside only to be released on the payment of one million, three hundred thousand naira ransom.

The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Ibrahim Idris said the Nigeria Police Force has the technical and intelligence capacity and capability to reduce the perceived rise in crime, especially kidnapping, armed robbery, cultism and other forms of violent crime.

 He therefore charged Nigerians to always inform the Police when they perceived any act of criminality and avail necessary credible information.

Former Managing Director of the defunct Nigerian Airways, Captain Mohammed Joji, has on Wednesday in Kaduna advised President Muhammadu Buhari-led Federal Government not to romance the Niger-Delta Avengers by going into dialogue with them.

He said that Nigeria, like China should introduce capital punishment for stealing and corrupt practices.

Joji said, by blowing up oil pipelines and destroying other key facilities that affect the economy of Nigeria, the Avengers had declared war against the Nigerian state, therefore, they should not be treated with globe hands..

The captain said the militant group had inflicted a lot of pains on Nigerians and about to cripple the nation’s economy.

While lamenting that the activities of the Avengers was responsible for the scarcity of aviation fuel, the aviation expert said,
 “If the ‘madness’ is allowed to continue, it would ground the aviation industry, which will in turn ground the economy.”

According to him,
“Fuel scarcity in the aviation sector is a sabotage by the so called Niger-Delta Avengers, so pipeline vandalism must be brought to a halt if the crisis must end.
“I am not an advocate of negotiations with a terrorist group. So, the Federal Government should forget about democracy and go fire for fire with the Avengers,”  he said.

Speaking on the fight against corruption, the Kaduna based industrialist said, capital punishment for corrupt people was the way out, if we must rid the country of corruption.

In his words,
 “Each time I think of how corruption has dragged down the development of Nigeria, I just wish we can do what China is doing; slaughtering whoever found guilty of stealing and corruption. We should not be seen as sympathetic to people who want to ruin the nation’s economy for personal gain.”

He, however, called for the establishment of spacial courts to try corruption cases, in order to fast track justice delivery.

The Federal Government has on 27July assured that the National Home Grown School Feeding Programme will commence in September with 5.5 million pupils nationwide.

It was divulged in Abeokuta on Wednesday by National Programme Manager, Mrs Abimbola Adesanmi,

She however  spoke at the opening of a two-day stakeholders’ workshop on the Ogun State Home Grown School Feeding Programme.

Adesanmi noted that the scheme
“would accommodate pupils in Primary 1 to 3 at the outset, and would move to other classes once the nation’s resources improves”.

The official further explained that all the states of the federation would benefit from the social intervention programme, depending on their preparedness

On Tusday, in Oghara community in Ethiope West Local Government Area of Delta State, the residents were aggrieved and stormed the Nigerian Navy Logistic Command, calling on the Navy officials to vacate the area.


The residents said the Navy took the land illegally and vacate the area for their use. The protest held the busy Warri/Benin Expressway as they barricaded the road to press home their demands.

Their action grounded vehicular movement on the highway preventing free movement for almost an hour.

The protesters with placards read 'Navy Leave Our Land Alone, Our land is our oil, [b]‘Navy is water, not land, get-off our land’ [/b]and other inscriptions to voice home their anger.

Speaking to journalists at Oghara, a group under the aegis of Oghara centre for social justice, called on President Muhammadu Buhari to evacuate the Navy personnel from the area.

They called on President Buhari to ask the Navy to pull down the fence demarcating the area from the community and pay damages to residents who have suffered loss due to the action of the Navy personnel.

But the Flag Officer Commanding of the Logistic Command, Rear Admiral Begjoy Ibe Enwo, said the allegation against the Navy was spurious, insisting that the Navy did not acquire the land illegally.

He said all lands being used by the Navy were legally acquired
He added that the Delta state government in the days of Emmanuel Uduaghan released the disputed land to the Navy with the Certificate of Occupancy.
According to him, the Navy presence in the community was for strategic reasons and not for the purpose of occupying land.

Delta State commissioner for lands, survey and urban development, Dan Okenyi, promised the state government would look into the issues surrounding the land and make appropriate recommendations to forestall breakdown of law and order.

A18-year-old girl, Okike Ezinne from Isu Mbaneze in Ohaozara Local Government Area of Ebonyi State has been arrested by the Enugu State Police Command on Tuesday for allegedly selling her baby identified as Chisom Raphal for N300,000.

According the spokesman of the police in Enugu State, SP Ebere Amaraizu, Ezinne blamed her bosom friend for tricking her into selling off her baby.

Amaraizu disclosed in the statement that the girl had the baby out of wedlock and decided to keep it but was reportedly tricked to sell off the baby by her friend, one Promise Godwin, a 20-year old single mother.

He said that the suspect narrated that when things were no longer going smoothly for her at home, her bosom friend identified as one Promise Godwin, also from Isu Mbaneze Ohazara Local Government Area of Ebonyi State approached her to come to Enugu with the child with a promise that somebody was going to take care of Ezinne and little Chisom Raphael.

[b]“According to Ezinne, she later joined the friend in Enugu where she secured an accommodation at Coal Camp axis but later found out that the friend has abandoned her husband and was into commercial sex work at Four corners junction, Enugu to make ends meet.

“Sometime in the month of March 2016, Promise Godwin perfected the purchase deal of little Chisom at the rate of N300, 000 with 46-year-old Gloria Okafor from Uturu but married to now late Sunday Okafor of Umudi Lokpanta in Abia State whose major occupation is to get and sell babies to prospective buyers within Uturu, lokpanta and its environs,” [/b]the police spokesman said.

Amaraizu said that police gathered that following the establishment of the sales understanding between Ezinne and Promise with Gloria Okafor, little Chisom Raphael was taken to Limca bus stop at Okigwe, Imo State, along Enugu Port-Harcourt Expressway, Okigwe where Chisom was sold to Gloria Okafor at the rate of N300, 000 and money given to the mother of Chisom in cash.

“On coming back to Enugu, the suspects shared the money as follows:N200, 000 to Ezinne, the mother of the sold child, N50, 000 to Promise, while the remaining N50, 000 went to the motorcyclist working with Godwin Promise at the Four Corner Brothel where she is staying”, [/b]he added.

According to Amaraizu, Gloria Okafor, having been nabbed, revealed how she bought the child from the duo of Ezinne and Promise but maintained that the child was later handed over to the buyer that same day and that the buyer was now at large and further revealed that Godwin Promise, who is already 8-month pregnant and also with a child of one year and a month, has also perfected arrangement to sell off the baby whom she named Chiadikaobi to a prospective buyer before they were nabbed by the operatives of the Central Police station of the Nigeria Police, Enugu State command.

“Suspects are now helping police in their investigations and begging for forgiveness but however blamed the situation to act of satan.

They say Love is a strong natural bond  of affection between two people. Yes, I may agree nobody is above love but in some cases, you need to distinct yourself and do the impossible. I wrote this to create an awareness to those young ones who think they can do without love and sex.

Are you kidding me? Some say "they can't survive without love, if their Bae leaves them they would die, Some get to the point of committing suscide e.t.c When I see such post I laugh but wait, at your your age are you suppose to even keep a relationship at all? 

Consequence you should know having relationship at early age 


1. It ungodly, Null and Void via Bible/Kuran 
First and foremost, I would use references from these holy books and I believe 99 percent of you all are religious. Of a true believe you me that most of these relationship is just because, the boys would want some points(Sex) from the girl and the girls can't help it because they need the money. Imagine selling your dignity Cause of money?? Well am not going to stress on that.

Bible: The Bible rejects this act strongly and it is boldly stated in the bible. We know and believe their is no way a relationship can work in Nigeria or any were in the world with no Sex. Now stating from the bible.

2. It is a platform for distraction


Well this I would spend no time in explaing cause I believe you already know. If you are dating a girl when you are 14-18 years old in secondary school, then I would apparently say your case is strongly not banal and you therefore may be the architect and designer of your failure in future. 

Well when I gained Admission into a popular Nigeria University, I was bewildered seeing some of my course mates hovering around, going to different lecture halls fishing for fishes instead of concecrating on their books and they are the ones that always comes out with the lowest grades, Sending money meant for text books on girls? How awkward. 

And for those who just graduate fucus on how to get money before falling in love or thinking of marriage.Why?, because you shouldn't bring innocent children into the world to suffer. But if you are due for marriage, you can go ahead and marry but still be focused.


4. It confounding and drives Mental

How do I buy this and that for my Bae, Omg!! If I Dont do this my bae might want a breakup, an unwise man would say. Like I earlier said, you would now use your money in which your parent suffered to get before forwarding it to you for text books to your so-called girlfriend, What baffles me is that the 'said loving girlfriends' won't ask where the money came from, as far as they have seen money,All thanks to God, My bae is the best, the boy would end up failing his papers because most lecturers in Nigeria record basically on their text books more than their exams, now answer me, Who is loosing and who is doing who?

Maybe if you are done with schooling, trying to think what to do with little money in your bank savings, she would demand enormously from you and threaten to break up if her demand isn't met, you would start calculaing on how to share the money to her, should I tel you something? Shame on you is all I got to say.

4. Unwanted pregnancy

Lastly, for the girls, you haven't finish with your first degree and you eventually took in, all because of the miserable amount rendered to you.
Can't you become an enterprise on your own? Are you better than those matured ladies that sells bread in order to earn a living? Remember the girl that Linda helped? What was her job? Oops perhaps I should tell you, she was a brick layer. What of the one Psquare is currently looking for? Or do you want me to tell you? She is a mechanic, What about Olajumoke Orisaguna? The street bread hawker now Model? Did they know when and how their calls where picked by (Chineke, Oluwa, Obangiji)God? Why selling your Only most important dignity for just some little amount of coins? And later ends up in had I know final brutality by getting pregnant?

The Ohanaeze Youth Council, OYC, has demanded the immediate release of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, saying it was long over due.


It could be re-called that Kanu, a major pro-Biafra activist has been in detention after he was arraigned in court by the Federal Government.

President of the OYC, Mazi Okechukwu Isiguzoro, who made the demand for his release, in a statement he issued in Enugu on Monday, said such step would help in calming frayed nerves across the South-East and the South-South region.

He declared that 
“the continuous detention of Nnamdi Kanu is in no small measure contributing to the volatile security situation in the Southern Nigeria.

“On so many occasions, several agitating groups have given his detention as one of the many reasons behind their activities.

“In the light of the above, we urge the President Muhammadu Buhari administration to give peace a chance by enabling at atmosphere of dialogue.

“Both the international conventions and the Nigerian Constitution allow for self determination. However, we insist that such much be done with due regard to the laws of the land.”

“We, therefore, urge the present government to unconditionally free Kanu from detention.

“The government should take our assurances that we shall make efforts that no one take up arms against the government. We say this because the IPOB, to which Kanu is a member, has remained non-violent and peaceful”, he added.
