Families still wish to be closer to their departed loved ones. Also many state run cemeteries have been compromised. People excavate bodies for parts and more. i have seen a cemetery where an occupied grave is reassigned or resold to a new funeral for burial. |
Kosiso12:In Nigeria, the emergency vehicle remains the pickup truck. It is well. A country without dignity for her citizens. |
The problem with Nigeria is engaging the right people when it comes to international events and conferences. The slots and choices usually are grabbed for the sake of trip enjoyment and the allowances in fx that go with it. You see this in sports, trade, tourism and other such programs. So when you do not have persons with the right capacity to exhibit a product or discuss relevant activities all you have will be people who fly for deee, stay in hotels, occupy the seats at the conference and return with nothing of value for the country. |
ElSudani:They have said now "throughout the flight". |
Modern mobile devices do not emit harmful signald when on flight mode. Today's aircraft avionics and instrumentation are also built to high quality anti interference standards to ensure safety. However just like the no smoking and no blades and fluids rules that came to play after Sept 11 total safety has become the concern for air travel, because you can never tell when the evil man is on board. It's possible to have a mobile device modified as some sort of explosive with it's battery. I am surprised they haven't banned phones and laptops on board because batteries are one of the restricted items on flights. |
SmartPolician:Without aging too. That should not be left out. Living 100 and above aging may not be fun. |
Bahamas95:That's why they are described as unbelievable. |
I think its better. If he gets a Yoruba, Igbo or Edo expert on the job we all know what will happen. A real Nigeria strategy needs to be honest, strange, decisive and aggressive to achieve results. |
Dennisochampa:My guy people have made calls o! Something (someone) gave that girl de moral o! Minister sef never sleep o! Whether she go calm or press charges in a civil case is next. |
Where due process is not in place, jungle justice practiced, everyone wants to show authority, action is taken before judgement. |
NothingDoMe:How do you escape arrest at an airport when you will eventually go through the arrival hall with security personnel stationed there? |
Were you on board the plane? None of us were? Until the flight arrived Lagos no one knew there was anything wrong. Until there is a fair hearing no one should conclude based on the airline's report and actions. The true story seems like 1. She was asked to switch off her phone and she insisted her phone was already on flight mode which technically is safe. 2. This didn't go well with the hostess who insisted she must turn off the phone power. 3. After a few back and forth which escalated, a passenger next to her grabbed her phone and switched it off which aggravated matters more. 4. She verbally assaulted the passenger and flight attendant. 5. Upon arrival she was prevented from disembarking from the aircraft and was reported to have been put back on her seat several times until everyone else left the plane. 6. While all this was ongoing the flight crew were determined to make a formal report and have her arrested for the verbal or whatever assault which had taken place already. So they reported to their officials in Lagos who invited security while holding her back. 7. While she was already held and ran out of patience with just the flight attendant at the door waiting for security to arrive she assaulted the flight attendant removing her wig and refusing to be intimidated by several others. 8. When security arrived they pulled her out of the plane and the rest is what we know. Who should have maintained peace here? Obviously Ibom Air officials have released a statement based on their flight crew's one sided report without any witnesses report. AWONEYAN: |
We're these withdrawals made last week? Why now? As we read this, someone is withdrawing. |
No need for the $100m |
She don well? Becos boys don de reason her somehow. |
If you're not buying it bro. Just send me location of dealer and contact, I'll take it. |
Everything is online now. It's clear she doesn't appreciate this guy else whatever he send her should be ok as long as it's from him with a genuine purpose. What if he got her a card which is almost all what we had those days. |
"... me as a girl". The difference is, real girls will become women but you will not. Old age is coming soon. It brings with it all the realities of life. |
Sadly, Africa is naturally blinded to realities. |
What of governors who will not host any of the players? |
Another attractive repayment option for the every day borrowing government. We are already paying through our nostrils. While that may not be the problem the real problem will be when the money isn't used for the debt repayment but for elections. |
Why not warn the discos of unforseen consequences of not meeting expected payments or revenue due to tariff reduction. Rather than saying people shouldn't get electricity cheaper. |
Government cannot interfere with these things because. 1. They have been paid by these people before setup and they pay huge annual operational revenue heavily to government agents with the knowledge that these monies are not going to government wallet. So they are aware that the land is corrupt and just for surviving. They know nothing is authentic, just money, health permit, environmental assessment, workplace safety papers, even the staff declaration all is gotten at a price. 2. Government is not providing anything, they are paying for their facility protection, armed guards, community etc. The cheapest are their hired security guards who will be paid peanuts working more hours. 3. They generate their own electricity, provide water, transportation at scary cost. even getting around the city they have to pay to be safe from crime. So how can they be nice to the workers from a country that is so dependent on what anyone can grab illegally. |
This kain man never make money at him age, and thinks ritual will change that. Now he is going to jail. How do hotels even allow multiple people to check into a room. Don't they have other spaces for friends? that alone is a red flag. |
Our country will set criteria for education, entry to tertiary institutions, Cut off marks for UTME, criteria for scholarships, criteria for sports representation but a low bar for leaders. Cant we see what our problem is? These illiterate people who have grabbed our political atmosphere are just after them selves. Will a bank, research facility or oil services coy employ this man? So why should we deceive ourselves thinking that in our national development and all the cream of law makers without intellectual height can figure out the right plan to move our complex nation with complex problems forward. Some things needs to change. One of the earlier responders said "this shows you don't need education to make it", So leadership gotten unfortunately is called "making it" at the expense of peoples future, young and old. |
He should have been closer to the people. He was too distant. Anyway at 82 and his records, his demise should be a celebration of his life. |
When will these politicians spend all their might discussing and pursuing issues of all national economic and social interest. This political tenure has greatly derailed. |
If the teacher had killed him in self defense since its clear the boy's aim was to kill, by now the story would be different. It's disturbing being confronted by a teenager or teenagers and you begin to break their jaws and smash their heads in defense. An mature person, teacher, mother father, would always try to show restraint at first thereby compromising his position. If I am faced with this life threatening situation, I will kill the idiot like a fly. |
Milking the people senselessly and calling it revenue. what are we generating after this? Is it jobs? Industry or are we putting the money to subsidize some tax free items that are very essential like medical and manufacturing equipment? If we are producing enough affordable 2025 cars and quality machine parts, it will make all the sense to put high taxes on imports. |
Little girl doesn't know what's going on. A child's innocence against a selfish society. |
As usual technology threads don't get too far on Nairaland. Maybe a bit if its about phones. Ill be watching this one. |
