I need some contribution here! If you are relocating to or visiting a city for a short stay, what are the likely questions you would ask about the city? Mine: ----------------- 1. Where can I get a part time job in [city name]? 2. Are there good health care centers & facilities in [city name]? 3. How safe is living in [city name]? 4. Where can I find real estate agents in [city name]? Do add yours, I am looking at getting at least 100 likely questions. Thanks for adding one in advance!!! |

Vanguard is trending upward steeply. The daily ranking is at peer with NL. I won't be shocked to see it overtake NL within couple of weeks. Anyway they have better funding and reach. They have by far, a better social cirlcle than NL. That could be a major + |
*dhtml:The technocrats I need are not web designers but people with ideas on how to make the project work. If I am giving out scholarships or building a school I should know the proper way to implement it. There are gr8 minds and consultants one can get FREELY on NL to assist with technical or professional advice. |
@Dual Core I no halt now! I just completed the target 30,000 websites using sub-domains. Sites created on blogger, even though they are sub-domains are also regarded as different websites. That is what I have done. 36,000 sub domains created with distinct contents. Already loaded over 50million local businesses on it. I should be adding the fact files and visitors questions by the weekend. That should officially close this project!. |
I am officially done with this project, Concluded creating 36,312 websites to cover cities across US, UK and Canada. Using the Omavo blogging framework I built. See some of the Community Pages: http://yellowstonenationalpark.omavo.com http://newyork.omavo.com http://buffalocity.omavo.com I think I am done with my target of 30,000 websites. I will be focusing right now on correcting minor errors and also making some few edits and adjustment to the different websites. I should be able to open another thread for the City Development Project by next month 15th (Not on webmaster) when some better revenue should have started coming. I need other technocrats to guide me as I do my own best affecting lives in my city. I plan starting with scholarships to kids who can't afford private schools. |
@remoranger Sorry my bad! I am a traffic monster. This whole thing is about creating traffic. I needed a footing to monetize the traffic, hence the zillion of sites. They are not meant to stay for very long. I am actually keeping just Omavo.com, which I will finally settle down to build upon. It is my real project which is a framework like Wordpress, blogger etc. I saw u ar into directories, if you need a state by state database of all registered companies in Nigeria directly from CAC do beep me, I will send it freely to you. |
Already I have been able to gather about 190k hits so far! Earnings already around 4euros daily. Will climb tremendously by next week when more of the pages most have spread worldwide. As stupid as my Aircraft site, I get lot of mails daily: See an example of a mail I got: Dear sirs,All websites I am making are not for most Nigerians. They are completely offbeat but will surely deliver the dole. Revenue is all it is all about. This nonsense will make sense shortly. I would have explained the deep principles here but that would be blowing away trade secret and creating unnecessary competition. All I need is a billion Page Impressions and that can create the revenue I need to kick start the project in my town. Already have about 190,000 views and it a good start. You can monitor site traffic stats here: http://om-hosting.com/ |
Lets just hold on a little and see how it goes. Result is what will determine if this will work or not. We all learn daily! |
remoranger:I was wondering why yours designed for humans is ranked 543,634 (I mean your site websitenigeria.com). Mine built for aliens is ranked 19,468 (I mean my alien site omavo.com). Why should an alien site be doing better traffic than yours? The world is scrap and only crazy people make it to the top. Normal people like you can't even phantom what drives billionaires. |
This should be the way to get it working. First convert the time stamp to unix time stamp and back to date. The function above should be modified to contain the Unix time stamp convertion. function getTextDate($timestamp) { $unix_time = strtotime($timestamp); if(is_numeric($unix_time)) { $read_in = date("F j, Y, g:i a", $unix_time); return $read_in; } } echo getTextDate('2011-07-28 04:54:54'); Output should be: ============================================== July 28, 2011, 4:54 am |
That is way too long. This is shorter: function get_date($unix_time) { if(is_numeric($unix_time)) { $read_in = date("F j, Y, g:i a", $unix_time); return $read_in; } } |
Just changed the title to reflect the new state of the SDCP. I am now developing over 30,000 websites before year end rather than just 1,000. People were all shouting when I said 1,000. Right about now, I am building a website per city around the world. Already have about 35,000 thousand cities well profiled. I will use sub domains for the cities to reduce domain cost. Should be through with hard coding all the cities sub domains and content into one domain before the weekend. Do watch out for it. |
binkabir, raise some very strong issues I never thought much about, backup! binkabir:Being googling around for SVN Backup and how to implement this. Those with ideas about how this work should throw more light. |
A mail I received from the the company after I wrote him back that I can't remove his website from the scam reviews, his reply got me thinking that the UK seem to have more polished online fraudsters (419) than Nigeria. The media from the western world tend to cover their a.ss and their poos. We Africans simply don't get it, we are always quick to buy their brain washing media gimmicks. The real thieves live in western soil. Imagine Firstload having more than a million poeple they have scammed and are still online promoting their business. Hello Scam Guide, |
Nigerians think that they are too smart!!!!!!!!! The man Rochas has said some of his aides will generate their own funds for running their offices. What is the problem with that. We like talking trash all the time. If I was given such great opportunity to head such office and given the mandate to generate my own running resources, I will gladly accept it. POWER IS USED TO DO WORK in physics. So with power and control, I can generate resources if I am brainy and smart. Many of us here complain because we lack the ability to even start a business talk more of running an office. Do remember that the Ibos are very business minded ppl and you can't take that from them. They do the impossible with very little resources. |
I built a review site strictly for reviewing scams across the web. I ran a review for 10million websites. I have receive series of threats from most site owners that I should remove their sites as it is affecting their business. This particular site owner has been on me: http://scams.omavo.com/?p=42485 I finally told him I am a Nigerian and that we are being labelled scams and filth to the internet because of their shi.t and that he can proceed to sue me within my jurisdiction which is Nigeria or send me a visa to a court of Law in Germany. Nigerians needs to really think out of the box and develop web projects that help other nationals rather than ourselves. Majority of funding I got for my 1,000 website project SCDP came from donations from Americans and Europeans using the site. |
Just created a page where we can all monitor the websites more easily. I also added a way for people to track how each site is faring based on views or hits. Visit Tracking Page www.om-hosting.com |
^ I just checked some of your sites now, I think you are not doing badly at all. You are more inclined to graphics and colors which has dominated your designs and concepts. Current design trends pay more attentions to simplicity and lesser graphics. The core technology like the scripting and styling of elements is more important. If you must reach out to the global millions of internet users, you must upgrade. Too much graphics is old fashion. Check out facebook, google, yahoo, mashable, msn etc, you will understand the trend. We are both on two separate side of the coin; you are a web designer while I am an application programmer. If you ask me my sincere opinion about your sites, I will say this: - design fantastic but reach poor. There is no SEO and your pages will be lost completely on the web. All web traffic stats of the sites u listed are down, meaning it is not very relevant to people. Nobody seem to use them! flawlesspromakeovers.com - Nil npmcn.edu.ng - 1,498,623 (poor) Rank clementcrownrise.net - Nil My target is to make money developing high traffic (organic) website whose primary traffic source is search engines and referral links. I am not interested in beauty and aesthetics like you are. What is my business with flash, colors or heavy graphics? What I need is millions of visitors to buy products, click ads and view pages which usually translates to money not fine heavy clumsy and poor loading websites whose graphics peels out slowly and also sending my visitors packing. I am pursuing something completely outside your imagination, and I am well equipped to face it. My target is not about 1,000 websites but 10k USD daily. Whichever comes first I am fulfilled. Note: I only started this thread to ease out my almost 16hours daily working on this project and to also get challenged to fight on. |
clementcro:There is a great difference between experience and reading web design books. When you say crappy website I don't really get it, Are u saying these websites I did within one day are crappy? www.omlyrics.com www.ombooklibrary.com The steps you listed above can be achieve within few hours depending on the speed of the developer and the strength of the developers code and snippet repository. |
Dual Core:You are absolutely right! I will do just that. |
I wish I could quickly get another site up today, but I have to battle with Ajax and JQuery scripting today as my next websites makes use of Ajax. My next website is a polls based portal running on a 5million celebrity and famous people database. I want to run a global opinion polls for these celebs to determine real public perception about these people. The media sometimes hype celebs blinding their real impact on society. I started something like this last year and lots of celebs visited the sites and even drag their fans to improve their polls. Watchout for this website sometime tomorrow night. |
Just drop another site. Took me a lot of time to complete this. Site has over 50million books and authors. Had to submit over 1000 sitemap to 3 search engines - bing, yahoo and google. Site Link: Book Library For References & Reviews http://ombooklibrary.com What a crazy tedious sameness. |
Just drop another one. Do check it out through this link: Musical Artists, Bands and Lyrics http://omlyrics.com |
I will be listing 10 new websites before the weekend. I just completed 8 of them now but they all seem to interconnect as resources are shared between all. I will need to get all ten loaded before I can share the links with us on NL. All ten sites runs on a total resources of over 100million database records. |
Will this be authorized on Nigerian roads? It won't be difficult for our legislators to quickly sign it into law because they will be the first to acquire it. |
A flying car retailing for £150,000 ($242,000) could be soaring over British traffic as early as next year. The manufacturer of the two-seat plane that transforms into a car at the touch of a button says prospective travellers have been paying £6,200 deposits to be the first in line to buy one. More than 20 Britons have reportedly expressed interest in the new transport phenomenon - despite its release date not set down until late 2012. The Terrafugia Transition craft can fly 500 miles (800km) on a single tank of fuel and can lift off from almost any long straight road.
