EZEIGBO2OFIMO:Thanks so much. |
EZEIGBO2OFIMO:Thanks for taking your time to respond. The same energy could have been used in channelling me towards the right direction though. |
Hello, please I intend to take GRE early next year, I've been following this thread for about three years now, and there used to be a way of getting access to some preparatory materials via email canned response. I would appreciate it if I can have access to the materials as well. Thanks |
Hozier:Nonsense. I go about with my laptop and the reciept of course. In your little world, laptop is a scam machine, what a myopic response. |

Machine Learning (or Artificial Intelligence) can not be explained accurately in less than a thousand words. It’s like trying to explain the evolution of human race in a single essay. You can try, but lots of important information would be left untouched. My goal is not to discuss all about machine learning in this article (my understanding of the subject is also very limited), but rather to share few details that will change your status from being a novice to a slightly informed individual on the subject of machine learning. What is Machine Learning? Doing away with the big term; it’s basically having a computer perform complex task based on available data and previous experience. Take for instance; your Facebook feeds is a product of basic machine learning. It will only show status and post from people you’re familiar with or those you’ve interacted with. This explains why users have dynamic feeds based on their interest. The algorithm (sorry, no better words) that sort users feed has learn to show only status and post that will appeal to them based on their interest. If you have a crush on Facebook, and you check his or her profile often, you’d realize that every of their post would always show up in your news feed. That’s a very basic example of how machine learning works. It basically analyze big data, makes sense of it, then make decision based on the data and previous experience. The goal of machine learning or artificial intelligence generally is to get a computer (software or hardware) to perform a particular function or task without getting gigantic instruction. It’s like giving a computer a mind of it’s own. Traditionally, programming has always revolved around logic; if A happens then proceed to B, if not, execute C, if B is executed, Run D while E records users action from point A. Traditionally programming has always been a this or that instruction. Machine learning takes it beyond that. It tells the computer; you have A, B, C, D and E at your disposal, make sense of what can be done with the resources and give a good result. That sounds complex because it is. Machine Learning is complex. Another example of machine learning product that a novice can easily relate to is Google Search Engine Result Page. Google automatically rank results based on hundreds if not thousands of factors. The ranking is done by algorithm that does not only understand the data available to be processed, but also understands the behavioral pattern, location and interest of the person doing the searching. This explains why a somebody searching for “best restaurant” from Nigeria (Lagos) will get a different result from somebody searching with the same strings but from Paris (France). Back to the Facebook example of application of machine learning (Facebook because I know most people are familiar with this). Have you ever uploaded a picture on Facebook, and you try tagging your friend, but facebook automatically recognize the person in the picture even before you input the person’s name? Well, that’s machine learning. If you’re having a bad internet connection, and a picture fails to load on Facebook, a text usually appear in the image box, the text would be something like this: “image probably contains, animal, female human, plant” Something like that… Machine learning (Artificial intelligence) at work. What’s the Craze All About? ML and AI has been on the upward trend lately. Lot’s of seasoned programmers are delving into the field of machine learning. As a matter of fact; ML is currently considered a buzzword of the season. Machine learning is the future of technology. Getting computer to run on their own with little or no human input is the next big thing. It’s a very huge field niche in computer science, and it overlap several other complex field such as mathematics, statistics, physics, software engineering and several other fields based on your preferred sub-niche. From the paragraph above, you would deduce that a deep understanding of mathematics, statistics, software engineering is needed to attain a “beginner” status in the field of Machine learning. Although it’s not a new field, but learning resources available for this field is still in the primitive stage, meaning, you have to combine the pieces from different fields together to make sense of how things works. -Data is money. Although very people can make sense of “jargons” (data), the very few people that can make sense of it get paid a lot of money to put their knowledge into action. Averagely, a machine learning programmer in the US earns about $150,000 per year. While data scientist earns about $160,000 per year on the average. With that being said, it’s not hard to conclude on what the craze about machine learning is all about. People want to build something super for the next generation of human race, they always want to get paid handsomely while doing what they love. Most machine learning programmers generally have less than 10 (ten) years of experience, it’s a field that is just gaining traction and as such, knowledge in the field put you ahead of millions of people walking the surface of the earth. What Can You Make Of This Information? For one, you know what machine learning and artificial intelligence is all about now. You won’t look clueless when a discussion about the subject comes up. Although it’s advisable that you stay silent when experts are talking about the subject so you can learn more. If you’re the curious type, your interest is probably piqued by now, and you would go on searching for resources on how to become a machine learning programmer. In the future, I intend to write about available resources to get started with learning machine programming. That’s machine learning in less than a thousand words. Use the comment box for specific questions. Source: http://www.growth.ng/machine-learning-for-novice/ |
Don't send him any message. Assume he's dead to you. Really, this trend is growing very fast in Nigeria, and a law should be put in place to curb this foolish attitude from men. PS: if you're between the age of 25-18, and your parents are still together, be happy and grateful for what you have. |
This saddens my heart |

Good morning bosses. I noticed that my car AC works perfectly in the evening (7pm downward) and in the morning (before 12pm). In the afternoon, it doesn't seen to work, its effect in the afternoon is almost insignificant, and can be liken to that of a weak fan. I drive a 2005 Toyota Matrix. Haven't touched anything since I bought the car. So am a bit concerned about using quack engineer that would mess it up through trail and error. Oh, I also noticed that my inner light comes up at the wrong time of the day. Normally, it shouldn't come up until evening time. But for two weeks now, it would automatically come up during the day and sometimes go off by itself. I don't know if this has anything to do with the whole AC issue. Any tips would be appreciated. |

Common music video, they will go abroad to shoot it. It might interest you to know that Usain Bolt has never shot an advert outside of his home country. It's either there or no deal for any interested company. |

Still don't understand what the fuss is all about though. I lock my door everyday, not because I hate those living outside, but because I care more about my safety. So what's the fuss about again? |

MODULE 1. Basis (How it works, What you need, The Mindset and Getting ready).. A. How amazon affiliate marketing works. Just like every other affiliate marketing scheme, amazon affiliate works by paying affiliate for every referrals then send to amazon site. Note that referrals but buy an item from amazon before you earn any commission as an affiliate. The beauty of amazon affiliate over other method is that; you earn commission for any product purchased by your referrals within 24hours of landing on amazon through your link. Let me explain that: Let's say you have a website about chin chin, and a visitor landed on your site, searching for best chin chin in the market. After reading your review articles, he/she clicked on your amazon link and landed on chin-chin product on amazon. Let's assume she bought the chin chin, but while buying the recommended product (chin chin), she saw a nice blue dress and decided to buy that one as well. You would earn commission for both the dress and the chin chin. That's what gives amazon affiliate an edge over other affiliates like click banks. As an amazon affiliate you stand a chance of earning, even if your traffic isn't as targeted as it's supposed to be. Reverse is the case when it comes to other affiliate marketplace. For every purchase made on amazon buy your referral, you earn certain commission. This commission varies depending on the category of product you're promoting. Take for instance, electronics category will give you only 4% commission. To put that into figure perspective; let's imagine you're promoting a $200 Television on amazon, when people buy the TV, you earn $8 per sales. If you are in the clothing category with about 7.5% commission rate, you would earn about $16 for a $200 product. This category is another fact to consider when choosing your niche. Amazon also has a product volume commission. What this means is that, the higher the number of product you sell monthly, the higher your commission rate. It increased from 4% to about 8% every month, and automatically resets at the beginning of the month. B. WHAT YOU NEED: 1. Laptop Computer 2. Good internet Connection 3. Decent writing skills or money to hire a good writer. 4. Persistence 6. Patience 7. A little bit of luck (Pun intended). C. THE MINDSET It's very important that I talk briefly on this part so you would know what you;re getting yourself into. You will not make QUICK money from amazon. Check my stats above, i wasn't making serious money until after six month of commencement. But since majority of the work invoved has been done during the first three months, the following months was to allow the site to grow,a dn the income was more or less passive. Don't say I didn't warn you. Six (6) month is a long time to wait if you're not the patient type. You would feel like giving up along the way. You might even get frustrated, but persistence is the key. If you're persistent enough, six (6) months will pass by and you would have a passive source of income before you know it. I picked six (6) month out of my head, it's not a rule of thumb. C. GETTING READY Now that you know what the whole business is all about, what's the next line of action? You can check the list of things needed above to see what you don't have amidst them. The first thing is to get it asap. Because you can't do without any of them. Once that is done. Complete the assignment below, and we would discuss further on it in the next module (Next Week). ASSIGNMENT: Make a comprehensive list of things you can easily write about, mostly things you have vast knowledge of. Take your time to write them out for the entire week. Add more item to the list as the week progresses. It's important that you do this because it will make our work easy in the next module. Cheers. PS: If you have any question so far, feel free to leave a comment on the thread and I will answer as soon as I can. |
I've seen several threads on nairaland about affiliate marketing, and bunch of folks are not willing to teach newbies without selling some sort of material to them. I intend to share all I can as far as affiliate marketing is concerned on this thread. Amazon affiliate marketing specifically because that's what I am making money from currently. THE CATCH: 1. Although I won't bill you for any Ebook or lesson whatsoever, I intend to make some cents (or dollars) through affiliate commission when you buy products that I recommend on this thread. Consider it as a way of saying thank you for my effort. 2. Of the six modules, I will publish just three on here, while the remaining three would be published on my site, that way I get to direct you to my blog, and capture your email for future marketing purpose. (That's sincerity at it's peak). PLAN: It will be a weekly thing. At the beginning of the week (Sunday or Monday), I will post a new lesson, and also answer questions that might have arose during the week. MODULE: The entire lesson will have six (6) modules, in which I intend to share everything you need to know about making money from amazon affiliate marketing. Module 1, Module 3 and Module 5 would be published exclusively on this thread. Module 2, 4 and 6 would be published on my website. The lesson modules are listed below: MODULE 1. Basis (How it works, What you need, The Mindset and Getting ready). This module will discuss the nitty-gritty of amazon affiliate marketing, how you would make money from it, the items or materials needed to get started and other valuable information in-between. MODULE 2. Finding Your Niche. This module will show you every thing (with pictures) how to get the right niche for your amazon affiliate site. It's very important that you understand this part because it goes a long way in determining the success of your adventure as far as affiliate marketing is concerned. MODULE 3. Validating Niche Ideas Getting a less competitive niche is one thing, getting a niche that is guaranteed to make you money is another thing entirely. This is what I Intend to share in this section. The aim is to show you how you can validate your ideas and test if the niche is what dabbling into or not. I've seen people investing time and money on a site that would never see the light of Google's first page. Don't blame them, the probably fail this module during their learning process. MODULE 4. Setting Up Your Site (Buying Domain name, hosting etc) This part is a bit technical. I will write briefly on choosing the right domain name, where to host your website etc. The other part about setting up on wordpress won't be covered in details. I will mostly reference some good articles on that. MODULE 5. Writing Affiliate Content that converts This is another important aspect of affiliate marketing. There are different ways of writing. Some write-up will persuade people to buy, while others will not. Basically, you want to master how to write articles that persuade people to buy a particular product, even though you've never seen or use the product yourself. MODULE 5: SEO I saved the best for the last. If your site is not on page one, preferable #1 to #3, then chances of making serious money is very low. You can imagine how competitive it is to get featured on Google's page one. SEO is the part of the course that would show you how to get your site on page one of Google search engine result page. This part is a little bit broad, but I would try as much as possible to share the important information that will get you going. One you know the basics, you can figure out the rest on your own as time progresses. WHY YOU SHOULD FOLLOW MY GUIDE? Because I am making money from the method. I intend to teach what's working for me, and hopefully would work for you too. Find proof of my 2016 earnings attached.
