Registrar, Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board ( JAMB ), Prof. Is-haq Oloyede, on Friday said the board would release the 2018 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Board on Saturday. He said the board would give details of the results to reporters on the same day. The 2019 UTME was conducted between April 11 – 18 this year. He said: “We had a meeting on Friday. And so, we are releasing our results tomorrow.” Meanwhile, the board on Friday paraded one of its staff caught collecting N25, 000 from an admission seeker in 2018. Adamu Martin, a jamb worker attached to the Information Technology Service, was said to have promised an unnamed candidate admission in 2018. Oloyede said the board was conducting internal scrutiny of its staff, noting that any staff caught would be dealt with. The registrar said: “He collected N25,000 for admission. So, we are not hiding anything. Even internally, we are doing scrutiny. Anybody caught will be dealt with according to the law.” The culprit, Musa confessed to the crime, adding that he had refunded N10,000 to the admission seeker when the admission did not come through. He said: “The person came to me for admission and I now told him that I knew people who would help. I collected N25,000 from him. But it did not work. So I now refunded N10,000. “He was the one who reported to the registrar. The person I contacted to assist the admission seeker said they had already closed the admission. So I had refund part of the money. “I apologise and I want JAMB to temper justice with mercy. Do you know what the
fastest growing religion
in America is? It isn't
Christianity. According
to the latest U.S.
Religion Census that
was just released on
May 1, 2012, the
fastest growing religion
in America is Islam.
The data for the
census was compiled
by the Association of
Statisticians of
American Religious
Bodies , and the results
were released by the
Association of
Religion Data
Archives . From the
year 2000 to the year
2010, the census found
that the number of
Muslims living inside the
United States increased
by about 1 million to 2.6
million - a stunning
increase of 66.7
percent. That is an
astounding rate of
growth. Meanwhile,
most Christian
denominations had
rates of growth that
were far below the
overall rate of
population growth in
the United States, and
some Christian
denominations actually
lost members. Sadly,
when Barack Obama
once said that " we are
no longer a Christian
nation " he wasn't too
far off the mark.
Christianity is rapidly
losing influence and
other religions such as
Islam are rapidly gaining
members and building
new places of worship.
As other major religions
such as Islam continue
to grow in the United
States, it is inevitable
that this will reshape
America in many
different ways in the
years ahead.
So what about other
religious groups?
How did they fare
according to the U.S.
Religion Census?
Well, the following are
some of the growth
rates for major religious
organizations from the
year 2000 to the year
2010....
Mormons: +45.5%
Evangelical Protestants:
+1.7% (far behind the
overall rate of
population growth)
Catholics: -5.0%
Mainline Protestants:
-12.8% (an astounding
decline)
But it was Islam that
experienced the most
explosive growth.
According to Ihsan
Bagby, a professor of
Islamic Studies at the
University of Kentucky,
there were about
1,200 mosques in
America back in the
year 2000.
According to this new
census, there are now
2,106.
All over the United
States we are seeing
"mega-mosques"
being constructed, and
in many cases the
funding is coming from
overseas.
And these mega-
mosques are not going
unused. In some areas
of the country, Islamic
communities are
experiencing absolutely
explosive growth.
The following example
comes from a recent
USA Today article....
Imam Muhammad
Musri, president of the
Islamic Society of
Central Florida, saw
growth explode by a
whopping 473 percent in
and around Orlando's
Orange County,
according to the RCMS
study, and he thinks
the growth is actually
double the 10,000 new
Muslims reported by the
study.
He said Muslim growth
has been fueled by a
wave of post-9/11
converts, American-
born children of
immigrants having kids
of their own, and jobs in
the booming medical
industry. In central
Florida, he said, Muslims
are just following
everyone else in search
of "better weather,
cheaper prices, cheaper
homes."
A lot of this growth is
being fueled by
immigration. A survey
conducted by the Pew
Research Center back in
2007 discovered that
39 percent of all adult
Muslims living in
America were
immigrants that
had arrived in the United
States since 1990.
This rapid influx of
Muslims is reshaping
communities all over
America. For example,
Muslim students now
account for
approximately 10
percent of the total
number of students in
the New York City
School District.
And all over the country
many school districts
are now changing
their school
calendars to observe
Islamic holidays.
In fact, in Dearborn,
Michigan football
practices are actually
scheduled around
Ramadan. The
following is from a Fox

In Dearborn, Mich.,
where schools are
closed on both the day
before and the day of
Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-
Adha, the
predominantly-Muslim
football team has
switched its two-a-day
summer practice
schedule to 11 p.m. to 4
a.m. during Ramadan, so
that Muslim players --
who fast while the sun
is up – won't be forced
to practice in the heat
without drinking water.
The move received little
backlash in Dearborn,
because most of the
football players are
Muslims.
Dearborn is located just
outside of Detroit, and
it contains one of the
densest Arab
communities outside of
the Middle East. Each
day, the local mosque's
call to prayer can be
clearly heard all over the
city. Dearborn is a clear
example of why we can
no longer call America a
"Christian nation".
But Islam is not the
only non-Christian
religion that is growing
rapidly in America.
The latest U.S. Religion
Census found that non-
Christian groups grew
by 32 percent overall
from the year 2000 to
the year 2010.
Meanwhile, as I have
written about
previously, the decline
of Christianity in
America is accelerating.
Back in 1990, one
survey found that 86
percent of all
Americans identified
themselves as
"Christian" of one sort
or another.
By 2008, only 76
percent of all
Americans identified
themselves as
"Christian" of one sort
or another.
Meanwhile, atheism and
the "not religious" are
experiencing huge gains
in numbers. For
example, the U.S.
Census Bureau says
that the number of
Americans with "no
religion" more than
doubled between 1990
and 2008.
Even many of those
that still apply the label
of "Christian" to
themselves are not
very committed. The
latest U.S. Religion
Census found that
approximately 150
million Americans are
not actively engaged
with any religious
community at all. That
is nearly half of the
population.
So America is changing.
It is becoming less
religious and it is
becoming less Christian.

Oyedotun said his

and he discovered

drinking beer and

him, gives serious
concern to the
extent that he
hardly prayed as
he used to do
before they
became husband
and wife.
The pastor said he
met Lydia in
lbadan and they
got married legally
while the union,
according to him,
is blessed with five
children.
He added that
what informed his
decision to sue for
divorce was that
he found that she
was dating some
rich men in his
church, and that
when he
confronted her,
she threatened to
deal with him
ruthlessly. The
plaintiff said that all
efforts to stop her
from continuing in
the habit proved
abortive.
He therefore urged
the court to
dissolve the
marriage and grant
him custody of the
children. Though
the 37-year-old
woman denied the
allegations levelled
against her by the
husband, she told
the court she was
ready to accept the
divorce since her
husband was
adamant. Lyndia
said it was not the
end of road for
her.
The respondent
however pleaded
that the court grant
her custody of the
children because
she knew that the
money Samuel
would be making
from the church
would not be
enough for the
upkeep of the
children.
Meanwhile, the
case was
adjourned for

has disclosed that about 50
Christian young men last
night stormed the mosque
and in furtherance of the
Muslim Ramadan, broke the
Ramadan fast with Muslim
youths as part of ongoing
efforts to strengthen unity,
peace and coexistence
between both faiths in the
troubled State.
The source said that there
was consternation when the
Christians arrived premises
of the Mosque and
proceeded to meet their
hosts,and after exchanging
pleasantries participated in
ending the Ramadan fasting
for the day as Muslims in
the Mosque watched.
The leader of the Christians,
Obadiah Dijji, according to
the source said that they
decided to visit the historic
Mosque and break fast with
their Muslim friends due to
many reasons.
He said, “Christianity is not a
violent religion and does not
teach hate and restiveness,
and it is in that regard that
we are here. Again, this is
historic this is Sultan Bello
where Sir Ahmadu Bello
prayed and he was a good
man who preached peace.
This is where late Sheik
Abubakar Gumi preached until
his death.
We are here for peace and
may God give Nigeria peace.”
It would be recalled that on
June 17, a series of crises
erupted in the state when
suicide bombers attacked
Churches in Zaria and
Kaduna town. The Boko
Haram sect claimed
responsibility for the
bombings. The attack led to
irate Christian youths
attacking Muslims, and after
two days, the Muslims also
retaliated in areas where
they are dominant.
Dijji also said that the Muslim
youths have paid a similar
solidarity visit to Christians
at the Christian Association
of Nigeria secretariat

I dont know why some people think with their anus, these reprisal attacks can never deter bokoharam from perpetrating their evils, it will only encourage them to bomb more churches because their primary aim is to destabilize this country and make it ungovernable. These christian youths should know that muslims are not their enemy. Most muslims detest and condemn the attacks on churches. Innocent muslims were killed in the reprisal attack. Bokoharam are our collective enemy irrespective of religion. May God safe nigeria
