Please I have a question to throw, I need valid answers my pple.. I want to apply for transcript via my university I graduated from for intending masters in one of Germany schools, but av not applied yet for some schools deadline is still within my reach to apply bfore closure. I graduated from a state university of which de just adopted the method of applying for both certificate and transcript online,so now I'm confused bkaux I want to apply for international transcript and I don't av a specific school in mind yet to send it to as I'm still doing my research and also to cut cost of resending to different school i want to apply to, is it possible I tell the person in charge of transcript to forward my international transcript to a university in Nigeria so I can pick it up from d university and use it to apply to all d schools I want to apply to,just to save cost..or how best can I go about this issue to bring positive result for me,I need all possible reasonable contribution on this..its urgent thanks... |

No tangible job, even those with jobs are leaving daily to better their life. Come with whatever budget you have, let me put you through to study in UK. If your budget is not enough, I will let you know. I'm sending u an email, pls reply |

Basalt: Nice Questions. Well, I have not yet graduated and got professional jobs but I think I already have the idea from the intensive research I did even before application.
First of all, I will start by telling you that you should be worried about getting MSc admission first because your GP is on the lower side (if actually 5 is your maximum scale) Most German schools demand 2.5 German scale (This is the formular for converting your GP to German scale =Nmax-Nattained/Nmax-Nlowest) x3+1. I did a quick calculation on your GP and got 2.747 German scale which is below 2.5. Most schools will send you rejection mail unless you have practical experience related to your course to back it up. Thats why I said you should first think about how to get admission with GP less than 2.5 German scale (Nigeria highest is 5 while German highest is 1), though its very much possible but usually harder. Note that in Germany, the smaller the grade the better. 1,0-1,5 sehr gut (very good: an outstanding achievement) 1,6-2,5 gut (good: an achievement which lies substantially above average requirements) 2,6-3,5 befriedigend (satisfactory: an achievement which corresponds to average requirements) 3,6-4,0 ausreichend (sufficient: an achievement which barely meets the requirements) 4,1-5,0 nicht ausreichend / nicht bestanden (not sufficient / failed: an achievement which
Secondly, I think data management is IT course and not so related to Geophysics. I doubt you can get admission in MSc Data management with a BSc in Geophysics. If you wanna change carrier, you start from the scratch (B.Sc) and mind you that most Data management MSc courses are not tuition free, so you have to be prepared for tuition fees.
You made mention of professional jobs being the main reason you wanna migrate to Germany. I perfectly understand your point. If you are a registered member of linkedin, you will see many Geoscience vacancies in Germany which shows that Geoscientists are still in demand but the question is ARE YOU QUALIFIED? The first step to qualification is knowing GERMAN to atleast B2, having practical skills which you can get from the industry during your internship, attending seminars and making connections etc. Truly, there are more opportunities for those in IT field but also know that Indians are mostly in IT and they are very good in IT so you must also be ready to equip yourself and compete with them in the job market. Let me also tell you something you have not thought about. Don't you think you can stay in Germany as a student and raise millions of naira (which is not easy to raise in Nigeria) and still graduate with a good GP, then in the worst case scenario if getting professional job in the country fails due to limited opportunity for your course or due to your inability to possess what they need, you can use the millions of naira to migrate to other countries that have more opportunities for your course? Countries like Canada, USA, Australia, Norway all have good opportunities for earth scientists due to their wealth in Oil deposit and kerogen. So you have nothing to lose in Germany if you have a good GP and practical skills and save money for possible migration when you encounter worst case scenario. Before the end of my MSc program, I am targetting atleast 5million naira savings that even if the worst happens which is not our portion, I can use the money to finance myself and explore other countries. My number one aim of leaving Nigeria is to be a citizen of a first world country. If Germany don't give it to me through the process of getting professional job or marriage, then I try other countries. My heart will rejoice wheneever I get any of the following international passport Germany or Australia or America or Canada or UK or any passport of any good and sane country to retire with my children. Returning to Nigeria to base after studies is not an option at all and I know for sure that God will grant me of my heart desire. I don't know about you but I am working towards possessing a first world international passport to add to the Nigerian own I already have so that I can easily migrate whenever I need even in my old age , Kia,bros see,u finish work, well detailed explanations,I am most grateful Mr basalt.thanks for taking ur time to explain all these... Lastly, if I should migrate wit my small millions after MSC graduation to places like Canada or US,will de also honour the German msc knowing DAT der are students wit MSC in dia own Canadian or US schools, how strong is the MSC in German schools,I feel the Americans like dia own and Europeans also prefer dia own too,so how strong will my MSC in Germany pave way for me in countries like US,Canada and the likes, any idea plz? |

Basalt: Ask your questions here and believe me, I will give you all the answers from my little personal experience Okay tanks,my B.Sc was geophysics with a cgpa of 2.67,my first question is how flexible in the job market geophysics, geology is in the job market in Germany is it okay I continue my MSC in Germany also doing same geophysics as I am thinking of choosing another course relating to IT DAT still have connection with geoscience, something like data management etc 2) my main aim is to get a job after MSC,is not like I'm suffering to eat here in naija or shelter etc,I can decide to hang on to wait for job over here but naija as it seems now is so unpredictable and age is not by anyones side, what are the things to consider in my job search after my MSC,bkaux DAT is the main reason For me wanting to leave naija, not to hussle since you're there and also doing my course I have deemed u overly fit to guide me tru this as I intend traveling 2020,intend ryting ielts Feb time and start processing things, please help me with credible and good information so I won't make mistake, especially my course choice, tell me the best to do since you're in Germany and the labour market demands I really appreciate your response Mr basalt when free, thanks in anticipation.. |

buddy221: Its always different thing travling on a Student Visa and travling on visitors visa. Op your case is different ...no special thing about it. I've a friend in stugart he is making more money than you. This whole thin is all about your planning. I believe anybody who love you will always discourage You about travling on short visa and planing on over staying because you are bound to suffer. In this case i think there advise is valid and on point. Your Chances of succeeding as an illegal migrant is 80:20. No family will ever discourage its relatives not to go and study abroad when opportunities occour. Alot Of people are suffering in Germany or other parts if Europ because they are illegal. I'll still discourage my love one not to travel illegally. Reason with me. I sent u an email not quite long, let's talk der plz |
Travel › Re: DON'T LISTEN TO Anyone Who Discourages You From Travelling Abroad by Jacknn: 5:39pm On Nov 03, 2019 |
Basalt: Yea, it's me Basalt and I always don't wanna paint words. I am a graduate of Geology from UNN (with over 4point GP). I received much discouraging advice especially from my relatives in America and even my friends telling me that since I have a high GP and still young I should continue applying for jobs in Nigeria because Abroad is no longer what it used to be. I was listening to their lies and applying to non existing jobs for complete 2YRS. Out of all those applications, I was able to secure only private school jobs which paid less than 30,000 with lots of stress on my life. After 2years of frustration and earning like a rat, I came back to my senses.
I sold everything I had, borrowed money from my elder sister's husband (God bless them for me) and entered Germany last month on student visa because to me, all die na die (even if I perish in Germany I will perish happily than continue crying in silence in Nigeria)
On getting here mehn, the first thing I regreted was not leaving Nigeria earlier. I blamed myself for listening to their lies and discouragement all these while thats why I deem it important to open this thread and pray Moderator pushes it to the front page because I know there are many people receiving such discouragement as we speak. within three weeks of comming here, I have a part-time job that pays me 13.5 euros per hour (I work for 80hrs per month) in addition to that, I have one mini job that pays me 445 euros per month.
My accommodation is 350 Euros per month and my living expenses are about 150 Euros a month or highest 200 if I spend heavily. In addition to that, I have access to a world-class education for almost free and stand a better chance of getting a professional job after my masters and you know what that means? Now do the Maths and tell me how it is not better than less than 30,000 Naira which I was earning in Nigeria before leaving?
Some people will say I am lucky but honestly, I am yet to see any student in Germany die of hunger here unless he is lazy. I repeat, NEVER you listen to anyone telling you to remain in Nigeria UNLESS you are earning fat salary in Nigeria, even the so-called politicians send their children here. . Good day Mr basalt,I'm in need of credible information as I want to make a drastic decision in my life, which if not properly advices might make costly mistakes, pls you're in the right position to guide me,I just sent you a mail plz respond ASAP when you're free, thanks in advance man,a broda needs help..tnks |

If it does not, I'm sure he'll clock 3 before you both are done with IELTS and ECA.
You could also consider doing CIMA to boost your points.
