No need for the insults, child.

I went to school in the eighties.

I know that you can interchange them. I'm just saying because something is allowed doesn't means you MUST do it.

Did you not read my examples?
You don't understand what "end of discussion" means?
PoliticsRe: US Government Speaks On Calling Buhari “Lifeless” by JacksonOyibo: 6:03pm On Aug 30, 2018
Jeezuzpick:
OK Prof.

"Mommy stared at the dessicated mummy in the crypt"

"Mummy stared at the dessicated mummy in the crypt"

Which reads better?

"Mom kept mum about my birthday gift"

Mum kept mum about my birthday gift"

See my point?

Oxford or whatever is a guide, not the law. It may be interchangeable, but please don't do it if you want to make sense in your writing all the time.

Thanks.
Mr. Man stop arguing with facts. Mummy is British, Mommy is American. They are interchangeable. Context is what lets the reader knows whether the word is mother or dead body.

Context is simple "common sense"!

As old as you are, you don't know that English words can have dual or multiple meanings? Or are you still a teenager?

The dictionary is not law? Guess what? When it comes to languages it is! It sets the standard.

You simply don't know that they are interchangeable and I have schooled you on that. If you want to keep arguing that they are not interchangeable after showing you hard facts... End of discussion.... please don't reply me.

Jeezuzpick:
If you interchange them, I don't!

My mother is my Mom or Mommy.

I wasn't born by a mummy!

Besides, check well.

I'm not really sure the words are interchangeable, except we Nigerians don't care.
Go and check Oxford dictionary (or any standard dictionary)... then come and say this again.

HINT: In EVERY English dictionary Mummy is an alternate spelling for Mommy... go and check it.

If you don't have a dictionary.... use Google search.

Yeah cos Nigerian based girls are too dumb to learn how to program abi? Just like a Nigerian girl kicking ass at pes or FIFA is impressive. cos those things aren't made for girls. The irony bites when you realize that pioneer programmers were women.
Yes they were women but NOT Nigerian women.

your example doesn't tally with your statement...everyone knows Pepsi is worth #100 so paying extra is like giving incentives in jobs....na human being we dey talk about no be Pepsi....
The same reason why big companies pay almost the same amount for their drivers as small companies/individuals.... there is no need to pay more for the same thing.

I was interviewed for the Job of a facility manager in a school that has nur/pry and jun/Sen sec schools and also has a boarding house. I was offered below sixty even after i proposed 100k. What do I do now pls? This is the first proper interview I attended after NYSC, SO I THINK I PLAYED A NOVICE AT it. Is it okay to renegotiate the salary even after i agreed to the previous proposal or I just let the Job go?

Experts pls help
That is what they are willing to pay. It is a "commodity job".... if you quit they would easily get your replacement. Think of it this way, just because a man is rich doesn't mean he would be williing to pay N2000 for a bottle of Pepsi which costs N100.

Mummy is also the alternate spelling for Mommy.

Jeezuzpick:
Your Mom?

Why would I compare Jona with your Mom?

I was talking about......well....

Its so sad that you resorted to such insults without thinking, but that's typical of some folks on NL.

If you don't know the difference between Mommy (mother) and Mummy (dried embalmed body from ancient Egypt) then I don't need to bandy words with you.

You are too ignorant.

There is a bit of hope for you, though, if you can learn and build up your mind.
