Amid allegations of government interference, The FIFA emergency committee has decided to suspend Nigeria from all international football.
The suspension in accordance to Article 13, par 1 and Article 17, Par 1, of the FIFA Status which states that member associations are to manage their affairs independently and with no influence from third parties.
With this suspension, NO Nigerian team including clubs are able to play internationally.
The football governing body gave Nigeria until Tuesday to reinstate the sacked Nigerian Football Federation Executive committee after the NFF was dissolved last week only to be replaced by a sole administrator.

According Spanish news agency EFE , Argentine footballer who plays as a forward for La Liga club FC Barcelona and the Argentina national team, Lionel Messi has been accused of tax fraud to the tune of £3.4million and faces up to six years in jail if he is found guilty.

The Africa XI beat the World XI 4-2 in an entertaining encounter at Micheal Essien's Game of Hope and Inspiration in Ghana on Saturday afternoon. The game was played in the Ghanaian capital Accra on Saturday 8th June, to help raise funds to support underprivileged children in Ghana through the building of local projects in rural communities.
Ghana's own Michael Essien, Jayjay Okocha, Adebayor, as well as the rest of the Black Stars of Ghana team made up the Africa XI squad.
African football legend and former Super Eagles player Jay-Jay Okocha showed his brilliance as he unleashed a dipping volley that dropped just over the bar. The Nigerian was also keen to show he had retained his box of tricks despite his retirement.

Manchester City recently announced a new partnership with South African football club Black Aces FC.
The three-year arrangement will see Black Aces, based in the Mpumalanga province, become City's "official regional school of football partner".
As part of the deal, the English Premier League side will help coach local South African children.

FIFA's Congress in Mauritius on Friday adopted a resolution that will lead to tougher sanctions in cases of racism, including points deductions and even relegation for repeat offenders.
Teams could be relegated or expelled from competitions for serious incidents of racism after tough new powers were voted in by Fifa.
First or minor offences will result in either a warning, fine or order for a match to be played behind closed doors.
Serious or repeat offences can now be punished by a points deduction, expulsion or relegation.

Many of the voters at the congress where overwhelmingly in favor of the resolution, with 204 votes for and just 1 against,(wonder who had the one vote against)

The 46-year-old Executive will serve a four-year term on the committee after winning the vote at the FIFA congress in Mauritius. Sidney Sam is being labeled disrespectful by the Nigerian Football Federation after the 25-year-old midfielder who plays for Bayer Leverkusen stated he had no interest in ever playing for Nigeria.
Sam who is half Nigerian and German was at some point interested in switching his international duties from Germany to Nigeria; however, after he was called up for Germany's friendlies against Ecuador and the United States, the Bayer Leverkusen player claimed he never intended to represent the Super Eagles.

NFF spokesman Ademola Olajire told BBC Sport: "It's disappointing, disrespectful and not correct.
"If he's not interested, he's not interested and no-one is going to beg him to play for Nigeria.

The Super Eagles will play against Mexico next two weeks, in Houston, USA to prepare for the World Cup qualifiers and also the FIFA Confederations Cup. The Super Eagles will then proceed to Nairobi after the game in USA against Mexico, for the World Cup qualifiers on June 5, and a week later play against Namibia in Windhoek, before jetting out to Brazil for the FIFA Confederations Cup.

Head Coach, Keshi made a few changes in the team''s list, this time, we have 2 new additions to the team; Anthony Ujah of FC Koln and Kano Pillars forward, Gambo Mohammed got their first Super Eagles call up. However, Ahmed Musa and Fegor Ogude were left out of the friendly due to prior club engagements.

All in all, the proposed team will have 9 home based players and 16 foreign based players.

Joint top scorer at the just concluded AFCON, Emmanuel Emenike went under the knife Thursday for a knee surgery, the Nigerian striker will be out for the next 6 weeks.
Well, while we wish Emenike all the best and quickest recovery too, for the Super Eagles, this means that the Spartak Moscow striker will miss next month’s World Cup qualifiers against Kenya and Namibia.

Emenike’s Russian club Spartak Moscow released the statement on their website saying- "Emenike underwent a successful operation on his meniscus and will miss four to six weeks," The forward will miss the last four games of the season in Russia.

Former Nigerian football stars play in memory of late Super Eagles legend, Rashidi Yekini
Former African Footballer of the Year Rashidi Yekini who featured for Nigeria at the 1994 and 1998 World Cups was on Friday remembered by a testimonial match in Ibadan a year after he died.

The former Shooting Stars and Nigerian striker died at the age of 47 on May 4 2012 after a brief illness.

The memorial match was held at the Lekan Salami Stadium, Ibadan, Nigeria and was played between the All Stars of Ibadan (Friends of Rashidi Yekini) against BRF All Stars of Lagos State on Friday.

According to MTNFootball.com, Nigerian and West Brom striker Osaze Odemwingie is set for a sensational Super Eagles return only weeks after it seemed he will never play for Nigeria again.

Despite being suspended from the Nations Cup following his performance, Tunisian referee Slim Jdidi made FIFA’s World Cup shortlist.

The Confederation of African Football sanctioned Jdidi for his conducts in the semi-finals specifically in the game between Ghana and Burkina Faso. In the very controversial game, Jdidi ruled out a legitimate looking goal as well as dismissed a strong penalty claim for the Burkinabe while handing a suspicious spot-kick to opponents Ghana at Nelspruit. The Tunisian referee also sent off Burkina Faso’s Jonathan Pitropia, however, CAF overturned his decision quickly allowing Pitropia to represent his country in the finals which they lost to Nigeria.

Financial help came the way of ailing former Super Falcons and Shooting Stars Coach, Joseph Ladipo, fondly called ‘Jossy Lad’ Monday night as Oyo State Governor, Senator Abiola Ajimobi, doled out N5 million for his treatment.

This Sunday, long-standing Confederation of African Football President Issa Hayatou is set to be re-elected into what he says will be a final term in office.

The Cameroonian who has been in office since 1987 is running unopposed after his only rival - Fifa Executive Committee member Jacques Anouma - was barred from standing for office due to some technicalities.

Despite several allegations of corruption that trails Hayatou, the Cameroonian has recorded some achievement during his long tenure some of which includes increasing Africa’s World Cup entries from 2 to 5 teams, creation of new tournaments, increased finances as well as bringing the World Cup to Africa.

Former Super Eagles star Nwankwo Kanu has lost a staggering $9m (about N 1.4 billion) to fraudsters. A top executive of his hotel has been arrested and charged to court.
According to PM News reports, Managing director of Hardley Suites Hotel in Lagos, Ayoola Gam Ikon was arrested and charged to court for the alleged fraud.

Operatives of the Inspector General of Police Monitoring Unit arrested the suspect, Mr. Ikon, for allegedly stealing the sum of N1.4 billion belonging to the hotel owned by Kanu. Also arrested along with him over the alleged fraud is a hotel staff, Oke Samuel.

The Super Eagles of Nigeria will face Mexico in a friendly on May 31 in Houston, Texas, USA.
Following their astounding performance at the 29th Africa Cup of Nations in South Africa which earned them the right to be called African Champions, the new and improved Super Eagles are billed to represent Africa in the Confederations Cup in June, the tournament will be held in Brazil.

Mexico and Nigeria last met in 2007, with the teams playing out a 2-2 draw at Estadio Olimpico Benito Juarez in Chihuahua, Mexico.
