Amid allegations of government interference, The FIFA emergency committee has decided to suspend Nigeria from all international football. The suspension in accordance to Article 13, par 1 and Article 17, Par 1, of the FIFA Status which states that member associations are to manage their affairs independently and with no influence from third parties. With this suspension, NO Nigerian team including clubs are able to play internationally. The football governing body gave Nigeria until Tuesday to reinstate the sacked Nigerian Football Federation Executive committee after the NFF was dissolved last week only to be replaced by a sole administrator. Manchester City recently announced a new partnership with South African football club Black Aces FC. The three-year arrangement will see Black Aces, based in the Mpumalanga province, become City's "official regional school of football partner". FIFA's Congress in Mauritius on Friday adopted a resolution that will lead to tougher sanctions in cases of racism, including points deductions and even relegation for repeat offenders. Teams could be relegated or expelled from competitions for serious incidents of racism after tough new powers were voted in by Fifa. First or minor offences will result in either a warning, fine or order for a match to be played behind closed doors. Serious or repeat offences can now be punished by a points deduction, expulsion or relegation. As of Monday, they already have 21 players in camp, defender Efe Ambrose and midfielder Ogenyi Onazi are expected to join the rest of the team by Monday evening. The team trained for two hours on Sunday as Head Coach Stephen Keshi observed: “There is very good team spirit in camp and I am quite happy about that. Everyone is in great shape and rearing to go. “I am expecting Efe (Ambrose) and (Ogenyi) Onazi on Monday, and (Brown) Ideye will join us in America. Of course, we’re not going to go with everybody to the USA, although I would have loved to take everyone. The Super Eagles will play against Mexico next two weeks, in Houston, USA to prepare for the World Cup qualifiers and also the FIFA Confederations Cup. The Super Eagles will then proceed to Nairobi after the game in USA against Mexico, for the World Cup qualifiers on June 5, and a week later play against Namibia in Windhoek, before jetting out to Brazil for the FIFA Confederations Cup. Joint top scorer at the just concluded AFCON, Emmanuel Emenike went under the knife Thursday for a knee surgery, the Nigerian striker will be out for the next 6 weeks. Former Nigerian football stars play in memory of late Super Eagles legend, Rashidi Yekini Former African Footballer of the Year Rashidi Yekini who featured for Nigeria at the 1994 and 1998 World Cups was on Friday remembered by a testimonial match in Ibadan a year after he died. The former Shooting Stars and Nigerian striker died at the age of 47 on May 4 2012 after a brief illness. Despite being suspended from the Nations Cup following his performance, Tunisian referee Slim Jdidi made FIFA’s World Cup shortlist. The Confederation of African Football sanctioned Jdidi for his conducts in the semi-finals specifically in the game between Ghana and Burkina Faso. This Sunday, long-standing Confederation of African Football President Issa Hayatou is set to be re-elected into what he says will be a final term in office. The Cameroonian who has been in office since 1987 is running unopposed after his only rival - Fifa Executive Committee member Jacques Anouma - was barred from standing for office due to some technicalities. Former Super Eagles star Nwankwo Kanu has lost a staggering $9m (about N 1.4 billion) to fraudsters. A top executive of his hotel has been arrested and charged to court. According to PM News reports, Managing director of Hardley Suites Hotel in Lagos, Ayoola Gam Ikon was arrested and charged to court for the alleged fraud.
