Fiscus105: How are we going to go into big production, without (petrol, diesel and electricity)? THEY are the engine rooms for productions, these two energy apart from other factors which including heavy machines. For now, we are not seeing them readily available in naija territory, but outside nigeria, to get them, we need dollars to get them. That's where empowerment comes in. Is there no electricity in Nigeria? Of course there is, big industries across the country are powered by same Nigerian electricity for almost 24 hours a day. A dollar can be equal to A naira and without empowerment to go into production, the society will still be where it is. |

The illusion that everybody wants to japa is not true. There are millions upon millions upon millions of Nigerians who have no intention to japa. All they want is to build a successful life here. The narrative that everyone wants to japa is false. |

Cdoki: I agree with you, but not totally, no investment will succeed in a society with insecurity is the order of the day. Farmers are being killed by bandits, and business men and women are kidnapped on a daily basis, and politicians are not accountable to their people. Imagine the amount the amount our senators want to spend only on SUV cars, money that some will never in his or her entire life, will be used to buy car, for one individual, and when dollar is #1300 l, no good road, minimum wage is #30k,. May God help this country. I think the solution is when the north agree to put away our differences and join head to fight bad leaders. The problem with Nîgerià is having a problem to every solution. So because of insecurities we shouldn't think of boosting the economy? Insecurities is everywhere, talk about France, USA, they have a high rate of insecurity, let's talk about boosting the economy, u can't fight bad leaders and win, u know why? Those going to wàr with u are also as bad as the leaders. |

Our issues is not with dollar, that's where most of u Nigerians have misplaced priorities. Our major problem is with production. If u happen to be in places like Benue during harvest season, u will hear that a paint rubber of groundnut sells for as low as #400 or #500. In other times, it sells for double that price. This is just an illustration to show us that things will become cheaper when we have it in abundance. Prices of goods and services will reduce only when we have them in abundance, how do we get them in abundance, by investing in production, what we should be agitating for is support from all quarters, from FG, various State Governments, wealthy individuals to invest into the society by empowering young Nigerians with the finance to go into production. The energy we use in posting, reposting and talking about dollar, if Nîgeriàns channel that energy into this, we won't be talking about dollars on the long run and things will be easier then. |

YouandiAllofus: Removal of subsides on petrol and floating of naira without necessary modalities to cushion the resultant negative effect on the economy brought about this untold hardship. That is failure of planning and implementation on a national scale. Gross incompetence!
Below is a previous thread on companies closing down as a result of harsh operating environment occasioned by cumbersome policies unfavourable to organisations and their growth.
If multinationals can shut down, what then do we expect from the local industries when they all operate under same policies? A whole lot of companies must have shut down! And going by this, unemployment rate cannot be said to be thesame. Ironically, all the listed companies operate in the southwest. The home and strong hold of the president and his supporters.
Can you remind us why Liz truss resigned as British prime minister after just about 44 days in office? I guess the Brits didn't know that a term in office is supposed to be four years. And because we Nigerians know it is 4years, we can continue to wait on a failing politician for another four years! Some of u are just emótional about everything, ur candidate said he will remove subsidy "immediately", he didn't talk about planning anything, all of u started posting about how subsidy is a sham, from Nairaland to Facebook to WhatsApp statuses to Twitter. Another person removes it and it becomes a crime. No whatever modalities will EVER EVER cushion the effects of fuel subsidy removal, no modalities will ever do that, some u don't even know how huge the concept of fuel subsidy is. Whatever will cushion the effects of subsidy removal will take months to years to be successful, even Obi lacks the capacity to do it. Talk is cheap, most of u haven't led a classroom before so u say it with ur mouths. Your thread on companies shutting down, I guess u didn't read it yourself else u wouldn't have posted it, because they are mostly take overs, I guess u didn't read it, a company that spent more than they earn and can't continue in Business is the fault of the government? Should we blame the other góvèrñment for what happened to Nokia? We should blame the government for what happened to Converse? Many of u sûck, u dón't talk because the talk is worth talking about, so if u are brought on TV, this is what u will cite as example of companies shutting because of Tinubu? LOL. Many local businesses are springing up, local factories as well as micro industries in different parts of the country. Give yourselves a break from these emotional rants. I was not in a meeting with Truss to know why she resigned and when she resigned, someone from her party took over. The problem with u folks is not the individual, it's the party, u h8 the party so much. Obi in his 8 years of collosal faiIure as govèrñór of Anambra didn't resign despite the tears and crying by the people, the people even started counting days to Obi leaving office. Where were u to advise him to resign? |

Under his watch, the country's economy is at it's all time worse despite the availability of more infrastructures, resources and technology put in place by previous administrations. What say you to that? First and foremost, the only group of supporters calling their candidate a messiah happens to be Obi's followers, both Atiku and Tinubu supporters didn't call their candidate a messiah, they rather call their candidate the best available for them. When reformation is going on, many things tend to fail, come back let's have this same discussion in one year's time. |

MrEverest: It was proven in American court that Tinubu submitted fake certificate. It was proven that he never attended Government College Lagos. It was proven that he used forged certificate to gain admission.
That you're even defending a man with four different date of births, who claimed to have attended primary and secondary schools that weren't in existence shows the kind of person you are. Beer parlor stories as usual. I thought u all said the Tinubu that attended CSU is a female? That story is dead now? Now he didn't attend primary school? LOL. If he didn't attend primary and secondary school, how did he excel in the university? Those of u who attended primary and secondary schools, how well are u doing or did in ur university edûcàtîon? Now the story has changed to he didn't attend primary school from Tinubu didn't attend CSU. They told u that in their country, they are more interested in transcript than certificate and they have Tinubu's transcript which they released to u folks, so the question now is, he didn't attend the school he attended? We should settle this part before we proceed. |

Indeed, you're arguing from a place of ignorance. I was born two days ago, but it's on record how Obi hiked tuition fees in Anambra, this led to a violent protest, u are old enough to witness this, didn't you? That has cancelled affordable and quality education from him. Obi's government was so transparent he annexed the third arm of government by not making LGA elections go into extinction, that's how transparent his government was, the big question is, what happened to their allocation? Rule of law and transparency in the mud. Health sector where Anambra people cañ't afford hospital bills? Obi and competence are words and opposite. |

This terrible and utterly disgusting situation will never happen in any country in Latin America, North America, Europe, or even Asia. Such president will resign immediately or be removed by their institutions. But here is Nigeria, even some supposed educated people are supporting him due to primitive tribal sentiments.
What a dark continent! Little wonder it has been plagued with wars, poverty, underdevelopment and everything bad. You couldn't prove any of the aforementioned things in court, the fact that you Obi followers have loud mouths to keep shouting doesn't make it true, the fact that u obi followers also have loud mouths to shut down the crimes and accusations against Obi doesn't mean he is a saint. |

Nigerians are too poor

The NC is literally the 'last resort' of the pdp when the going gets tough. NC voting obi is more exception than rule.
PDP has a direct shot getting NE, NW, NC and SS as they have traditionally done. I have alot of catching up to do? Lol. And they lost most of the regions u listed in the last election? At this rate, NC will most likely align with a Christian candidate so if PDP fields a Muslim candidate again and Obi comes out in 2027 under LP, they will likely vote him. We lost 2015 because we lost the middlebelt.
Your votes are inconsequential and we hope to see you voting your own regional candidates henceforth.
PDP will focus on the SS, MB , swing votes in the SW and clinch the constintutuinal requirement in the NW and NE.
PDP and no party for that matter needs your votes. I am not an lgb0. Today I am being accused of being lgb0, yesterday, I was accused of being a Yorûba. I am just saying, PDP clinching middle belt is more difficult than ever, middle belt doesn't align with the north and PDP is fielding northern candidate.
