The men of Ogun state police command has arrested one shakirudeen shittu ,a notorious land grabber terrorising ogijo and its environs. The suspect was arrested at Eyinogbe isale area of ogijo while the Anti robbery team of the division led by the DPO SP Tijani Muhammad were on routine patrol of the area.
He was said to be living at ipinyewa phase 2 in Lagos state.
Information revealed that he has involved in series of land grabbing violence which has resulted into loss of life and wanton destruction of properties.
Recovered from him are: two pump action guns, three locally made single barrel gun,one short locally made double barrel gun,seventy five live cartridges, assorted charms and the sum of N87,600
The Commissioner of police CP Ahmed Iliyasu has ordered the immediate transfer of the suspect to fsars for discrete investigation with the view of tracking down other members of his group.
The CP therefore warned land grabbers to either leave the state or desist from their violent act because the command will deal decisively with anybody caught causing or intending to cause any form of violence in the state.
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Lagos zone, this evening uncovered yet another large sum of suspected laundered money to the tune of N448,850,000 (Four hundred and forty eight million, eight hundred and fifty thousand naira) only in a shop at LEGICO Shopping Plaza, Ahmadu Bello Way, Victoria Island, Lagos. The money stashed in several Ghana Must Go bags were in N500 and N1000 denominations, hidden in a shop awaiting conversion into foreign currency.
Relying on information provided by a concerned whistle blower, operatives of the Commision swooped on the shopping complex and sought the identity of the owners of two shops, LS 64 and LS 67 which were under locks and keys. The shops had signages of Bureau de Change. Inquries about the owner of shop 64 indicated he had not been seen for a long time, as they claimed the shop had not been opened for businesss for close to two years. Several calls were put to the owner of shop 67 but there was no response.
The attention of the plaza's chairman and some traders were drawn in order to force the shops open. There was no money found in shop 67, but in shop 64 heaps of Ghana Must Go bagswere found loaded on the floor of the shop. When the bags were unzipped they were found to contain bundles of naira notes totalling N448,850,000. Traders interviewed at the premises claimed they were not aware such money was housed in there, as the place hardly opens for business.
The Commission is investigating the matter in order to unravel the owner and source of the money.

The governor of Ekiti state and chairman of the people's democratic party (PDP) governors forum, Ayodele Fayose has disclosed that he will perform better Buhari if he becomes president of Nigeria.
Fayose made the statement in an interview on AIT's "People, Politics and Power" program on Thursday.
"I am not a member of Tinubu's party and I will never be but Tinubu has paid his due, he is a Yoruba leader that must be appreciated. Bode George is a leader, will we because of politics say their heads should be cut off?
"I don't have the ambition to be president but I can be president of Nigeria and I will perform better than they are doing".
Speaking further, the governor ridiculed the national chairman of the people's democratic party, Ali Modu Sheriff.
He said "God knows tomorrow, you are a journalist, don't have anxiety about tomorrow, let's see where the PDP tussle will end. Ali Modu Sheriff wrote me that I should be a part of his convention, I told him never to write me such letter again that he is an impostor, we made mistake by bringing him and I have publicly apologised. Let’s just wait for judgment at the court"

The Kaduna Zonal office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC have arrested members of a notorious syndicate of fraudsters made of four Nigerians and one Nigerien who specialise in duping innocent persons of their hard earned monies.
Those arrested are Salisu Rabiu, a.k.a Maimagani; Ibrahim Idris, a.k.a Dankano; Magaji Musa (Nigerian) a.k.a Maishayi; Haruna Abdullahi,a.k.a Balogun and Abubakar Umar ,a.k.a Fulani.
The suspects were arrested in a bush along Sabon Gari, Kurmin Kogi, Ikara Local Government Area of Kaduna state. A search of their hide out which is suspected to be a kidnappers’ den led to the startling discovery of a sum of five hundred and seventy thousand ($570,000) fake US dollars and some charms.
The five man gang met their waterloo when they conspired among themselves to lure an unsuspecting victim into believing that some unclaimed boxes containing huge amount of USD were kept with some herdsmen believed to be accomplices by an unidentified politician.
Doubtful of the story, the would-be victim contacted the Commission.
The operatives of the Commission upon receipt of the intelligence swung into action and arrested the gang members in their hideouts.
All the suspects are in custody while investigation continues.
The Commission wishes to use this opportunity to warn members of the public to be wary of any get-rich-quick offer in order not to be a victim of scam. However, those who had fallen victim to the nefarious activities of this syndicate are enjoined to report to the Commission’s office located at No.4 Wurno Road Kaduna State.

Five suspected oil vandals are currently undergoing investigation at the Port Harcourt Zonal Office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, for dealing in petroleum products suspected to be Automated Gas Oil (AGO).
The suspects, Jeffery Adaboke, Ayebaene Kalango, Prince Legbosi, Tega Adade, Ifeanyi Silvanus were arrested by officers of NNS PATHFINDER Naval Base Port Harcourt, Rivers State on 1st of April, 2017 around Isaka axis onboad Tug Boat PK111 and a metal barge laden with products suspected to be AGO.
The suspects were handed over to the Commission for further investigation by E. R. Ekuma, Commander, Nigeria Navy.
An Operative of the Commission, Gidado Musa, who represented the zonal Head EFCC South/South, received the suspects, Tug boat and the metal barge on behalf of the Commission.
The suspects will be charged to court as soon as investigations are completed.
The All Progressive Congress (APC) National Working Committee led by its Chairman, John Oyegun today visited the Senate Caucus of the party at National Assembly.
In attendance at the meeting include the Senate President, Bukola Saraki, the Senate Leader, Senator Ahmad Lawan, Senators and the National Secretary of the APC, Mai Mala Buni.
The meeting is to discuss the "crisis" between the presidency and the senate.
