SARAKI HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH IMPORTATION OF VEHICLE, SAYS AIDE

Special Adviser to Senate President on Media and Publicity, Yusuph Olaniyonu, has stated that the allegation raised today by Senator Ali Ndume linking Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki to the importation of vehicle lacks basis as it was outright falsehood.

In a press statement, Olaniyonu said from the facts and documents about the seized vehicle, it is obvious that the Senate President has nothing to do with the importation of any vehicle.

"A supplier was engaged by the Senate to supply a vehicle. While transferring the vehicle between Lagos and Abuja, it was impounded by the Customs. We believe that is an issue between the supplier and the Customs because the Senate has not taken delivery. So, why is somebody trying to drag in the name of Saraki into the issue.

"The documents on the vehicle are there for the general public to view and make their conclusions. Now, that the matter has been referred to the Committee on Ethics, Privileges and Public Petitions, all the facts will be out", Olaniyonu stated.

Former President Goodluck Jonathan on Saturday visited Government House, Port Harcourt.

The Former President was received by Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike. Also present during the visit were the Chief of Staff to Governor Wike, Engr Emeka Woke, the Secretary to the Rivers State Government, Hon Kenneth Kobani and the Edo State PDP Chairman, Chief Dan Orbih.

Former President Goodluck Jonathan and Governor Wike had a closed door meeting at the Government House, Port Harcourt before the Dr Jonathan left for another engagement at Okrika.

Former Aide to Ex-President Jonathan, Reno Omokri has asked his friends to "delete" themselves from his life if they believe the allegations Ms. Stephanie Otobo made against the General Overseer of Omega Fire ministries, Apostle Suleman.

Omokri said he made that decision because those type of friends would condemn him if he gets falsely accused in future.

Last year, in the middle of one of the most divisive elections the world has ever seen, a girl accused Trump of rape but because she had no proof Americans dismissed her. If he had been Nigerian, we would celebrate such a girl.

The service of songs for late Dr Samuel Ogbemudia, former Governor of the defunct Mid-West and Bendel, held at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin on Thursday.

The event was attended by family members and dignitaries from within and outside the state.

In a message entitled, “what will you be remembered for? Rev Osama Usuanlele of the United Baptist Church said the essence of living was to affect lives positively.

Usuanlele said late Ogbemudia lived a fulfilled life and won the hearts of many.

He described Ogbemudia as a distinguished Edo man who fought for the development of the old Bendel State, now Edo and Delta.

According to him, he came, he saw and conquered and his legacies will live on.

First son of the deceased, Mr Samuel Ogbemudia Jnr., said his father would be remembered for his excellent works.

He commended the team that worked with his father, saying that they contributed to his success.

He also appreciated Edo state Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki and his Delta state counterpart, Governor Ifeanyi Okowa for their support to the family before the demise of their father.

Dignitaries present at the event included former Head of state, retired Gen Yakubu Gowon, Governor Obaseki of Edo, Chief Edwin Clark, Gen. Godwin Abbey, Chief Dan Orbi, Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party in Edo and Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, the 2016 Edo Governorship candidate of the PDP.

Others were Justin Okonobo, Speaker of Edo House of Assembly, Vice Chancellor of the University of Benin, Prof. Faraday Oruwenmse, Minister of State for Health, Dr Osagie Ehanire, National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Chief Odigie Oyegun, among others.

The burial service for late Ogbemudia will hold on Friday, March 17 at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium by 10 am.

The late elder statesman died March 9, at a private hospital in Lagos aged 84

Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes commission intercepted a whopping sum of 49 Million Naira in five large black 150kg coloured BUHU sacks at the Kaduna International Airport on Tuesday, March 14, 2017 following a tip-off.

During a routine baggage screening, five sacks were sighted unattended and without tags containing fresh bulk items suspected to be money.

Upon examination, the bags were found to contain fresh crispy naira notes of N200 denomination in 20 bundles totalling forty million naira and N50 denomination in 180 bundles totalling nine million Naira with seal purportedly emanating from the Nigeria Security and Minting Plc (NSPM) as seen in the labelled sealed packs.

An investigation into the case is in top gear to unravel the culprits behind the attempted illegal movement of the cash.

Former aide to Ex-president Goodluck Jonathan, Reno Omokri has criticized the minister of information and culture, Lai Mohammed over a statement he made about President Buhari's health while he (the president) was receiving treatment in London.

Omokri stated this in a statement on Saturday.

The former presidential aide said Lai Mohammed's remarks that president Buhari was "hale and hearty" were lies, adding that the president said he was sick when he returned from the UK.

His statement reads; "Lai Mohammed, even your own boss President Muhammadu Buhari knows you are an unrepentant liar from the pit of hell! You told us the President was 'hale and hearty'. Your exact words on February 9, 2017 were 'I can say it without any equivocation, Mr President is WELL, he is HALE and he is HEARTY; no question about that.' Well, the man himself has returned and these are President Buhari's own exact words 'I have received, I think, the best of treatment I could receive. I couldn’t recall BEING SO SICK since I was a young man!' Only a fool will henceforth believe anything spoken by Lai Mohammed. He has officially been declared a liar by his own boss".

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has filed a six-count charge against the Former NNPC boss, Andrew Yakubu.

The counts including fraud, money laundering and asset concealment was signed 9th March, 2016 at the Federal High Court in Abuja.
