Veteran musician Sound Sultan has died of throat cancer. According to a statement signed by Dr Kayode Fasasi, he "passed away at the age of 44 following a hard-fought battle with Angioimmunoblastic T-Cell Lymphoma". The disease, while rare, can cause fever and autoimmune disorders. Sahara reporters reported in May that Sound Sultan was undergoing Chemotherapy in the United States.

His last post on Instagram -- the music video of Patoranking's "Celebrate Me" -- may have suggested he knew his days were numbered. Part of the lyrics reads:

Residents Kneel Down To Worship 'Jesus Christ' Image At A Church in Ikorodu

An image of 'Jesus Christ' on the wall of Holy Ghost Fire Apostolic Church located at Ogunse Estate in Ikorodu, Lagos has attracted a lot of residents in the area.

According to reports, the alleged Jesus Christ appeared after a heavy rainfall on Saturday and it has invited at least 400 worshippers daily since then.

The construction work which was ongoing at the Church has also been put on hold due to the number of 'pilgrims' turning up to catch a glimpse of the image.

Residents can be seen kneeling down and 'praying to Jesus' in the photos below.

A female Inspector of Police was caught on camera recently harassing a bus driver after he allegedly refused to give her a bribe of 50 Naira.

According to a Facebook user Sodiq Omotayo who shared the video, the incident occurred at College Bus Stop in Ikotun, Lagos state.

The shocking footage shows the woman firmly holding the man's clothes as people tried to separate them. Watch below;

Four family members of the Vice President of Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Eddie Bekom have been hospitalised after a cooking gas explosion from a neighbour in their building at Ikom, Cross River State.

Bekom, his wife and four children were severely burnt in the explosion. They were first treated at a hospital in Ikom before further treatment at the Federal Teaching Hospital in Abakaliki for second-degree burns.

Unfortunately, Bekom's wife and one of his children have died as a result of the severe injuries they sustained. Reports have it that about N10 million is now needed for their treatment.

The ever busy Oron road in Akwa Ibom state was held to a standstill today as students of Uyo high school engaged in a brutal fight with students of Government Technical College in Ewet-Uyo.

According to reports, one JSS 2 student identified as Etieno was left in a coma after the fight. The student was rushed to a hospital for treatment after police intervention.

Two Children - a 10-Year-Old Boy and a 7-Year-Old Girl - have been declared missing in Ikorodu, Lagos. Ridwan (boy) and Nimata (girl) reportedly left their house on Saturday and did not return home.

The presidency has reacted to reports on social media over a £4000 allegedly being paid for parking the presidential jet in London

According to a statement released by the special adviser to President Muhammadu Buhari, Garba Shehu, the aircraft is being retained in the UK on grounds of protocol, national security, diplomacy and prestige.

The statement reads; The Presidency is constrained to decry criticisms, mostly on social media, on the retention in London of the Presidential Aircraft, NAF 001 as mostly informed by lack of understanding of protocol around foreign trips by Heads of State all over the world.

It is important to state that for reasons of protocol, national security, diplomacy and prestige, there is no world leader who travels abroad and is left without plans for immediate return or possible evacuation.

From operational point of view, this country’s Armed Forces as represented by the Nigeria Air Force are not to abandon their Commander-In-Chief in whichever circumstance he is. This is a standard operating procedure.

We have also read claims about outrageous fees allegedly paid by Nigeria. The published amounts are totally untrue. Aircraft conveying heads of state all over the world usually enjoy waivers even where payments for parking are differentiated by aircraft categories.

We been assured that where the waiver is not granted, payment will not exceed £1,000, which is a quarter of the amount being peddled.

For the avoidance of doubt, this President is not the first to have a presidential aircraft standing by for him, as he will certainly not be the last. All past Heads of this country have had this privilege, and the part that surprises the most is that leaders who in the past travelled with three Nigerian aircraft did not suffer this trenchant criticism.

We appeal to Nigerians to ignore opposition campaign aimed at derailing this administration's big plans for the country.
This is a government that is constructing the Second Niger Bridge, the Mambila Power Plant, the East-West and the North-South standard gauge railway lines.

We are a government that has saved this country an annual loss of two trillion Naira from fraudulent petroleum subsidy schemes by influential citizens and their children, and rid the public service of about 50,000 ghost workers.

The Buhari administration certainly deserves a chance.

They get more attention from the flight attendants.. for example, if you need probably water or food before the flight takes off and you're in business/first class, you would get it. Unlike the economy class when you have to wait till they start sharing and it gets to your turn. The Business/First class seat is far more comfortable than that of the economy and I think they also enjoy in-flight WiFi too. There are so many benefits attached because you'll be treated like a king.

But it's same flight, same take off and landing.

With first class , you can beat the check in deadline, if you miss your flight you can be fly the next available flight without extra charges , the chair is much more comfortable, most times it can be turned into a bed . In first class you can have sex on the plane , the drink and food is limitless unlike economy that each passenger has a certain portion . Also you don't get to stay in the general area while waiting to board , there are beautiful lounges prepared for you. Lastly as a Nigerian who likes traveling heavy with loads , you have more baggage allowance

A suspected member of the dreaded Badoo terror gang got nabbed in Ikorodu this morning.

According to a report by Seidu Shakiru, the culprit was trying to gain access to a house at Felefon Street in Ayegbami Community, Igbogbo - with a big stone in his hand - when a resident of the community raised an alarm shouting "Badoo."

The suspect quickly hid the stone inside a big bowl he found nearby and placed it upon his head with the pretence of going to fetch water.

His trick, however, failed as residents trooped out and chased him till he got caught at Akindana Street, Ayegbami in Igbogbo.

The suspect was handed over to the police to avoid jungle justice.
