mercylicious: @Jamace, chillykelly and all,
The house was too quiet and I needed to bring it back to status quo with Jamace keep on investing.
No offence meant. No one pushed me into buying any stock. I made my choice based on conviction, thinking the market is back as proshare said. They even forcast dt by 2014, the mkt will recover fully and have indices as pre meltdown. I just entered at d wrong time and lost half of my earnings.
Yeah, I like your spirit and it is very good for any investor to have that. grin Keep it up.

Remember that during the BEAR ERA, Stockbroking houses/brokers were a ghost of themselves so let them celebrate this FRESH AIR. grin But most importantly, Know it now that the market will continue to stagger up, stagger down and sometimes flat, all through this BULLISH ERA until the CYCLE is completed.

"keep on investing" (I mean it grin) so that you can reap when the time for harvesting comes. There is money to be made in this bizness. Remember that, "No sowing, no reaping".

Cheers.

Where Jamace dey? Na u put me for this blood wit ur keep on investing. I don loose money die for aiico and Nascon. Even sterling bank wey give good result don fall past d amt wey I buy am.
Na like dis wey we go dey?
grin Oh dear, let not your portfolio be shaken. Bloodletting is part of the life cycle of stock investing. The journey is never smooth and straight. The market is only volatile for now. The cause is that some people have not CHOPPED shares money for over 5 years now and are excited at this reawakening of the market. They are taking profits to celebrate the new dawn. Join the celebration.

After the celebration will come a saturation point when investors will now be interested in the long term growth.

No shaking. Just keep on investing! cheesy

That is why I hate dividend. Imagine IBTC giving a div of N0.10k cheesy grin What is that to a man who has 100,000 units of IBTC shares? Even those who have million units will lose millions to get a dividend of few thousands of naira.

Abeg, count me out of dividend! Give me BONUS or forget it!

Investment › Re: Dividend Stocks Vs Non-Dividend Stocks by jamace(m): 4:14pm On Apr 18, 2013
manie: It depends on the units of shares you own. I love the depreciation of good stocks after dividend payments, because it gives people like us the opportunity to buy good stocks at lower prices.
The more units of shares you own, the more the loss after payment of dividend because the value of shares will drop drastically due to price depreciation. Why depreciate the value of my shares in order to pay me dividend? Why use my money to pay me, thereby delaying my progress?

For instance, the price of ZENITHBANK was around N25.00 before announcement of dividend. Now, check the price depreciation on ZENITH BANK compared to the dividend that will be paid to individuals. As at today, the price of ZENITHBANK is under N20.00, that is a depreciation of N5.00. Did ZENITHBANK pay N5.00 dividend? NO! So, it is a loss on the part of the investor who waited for dividend instead of selling at N25.00 or even N23.00.

On the whole, do you notice the adverse effect of payment of dividends on the stocks of the NSE? Blood on the street! Panic selling every where. Some investors are even scared that stocks will go into recession again and are just selling to be a little on the safe side.

This is my position anyway. Keep on investing anyway. cheesy
Investment › Re: Dividend Stocks Vs Non-Dividend Stocks by jamace(m): 12:37pm On Apr 18, 2013
manie: Nothing stops me from reinvesting my dividend into same stock, other stocks or other investment outlets.
What is the value of the paid dividend compared to the depreciation of the stock after payment of dividend? Dividend paid is ALWAYS meager compared to depreciation of stock. What is the value of stocks that have paid dividend presently compared to their prices before the announcement of dividend?

Dividend is like giving you part of your money which ultimately depreciates your capital (Share value) at the point in time.

Most smart investors don't wait for dividend. They sell off once it is time for payment of dividend in order to retain their share value and then buy again after share depreciation.
Investment › Re: Dividend Stocks Vs Non-Dividend Stocks by jamace(m): 10:31am On Apr 18, 2013
I don't want dividend. I want capital appreciation. I also prefer bonus to dividend.

Of what use is dividend to me if the value of my share has to depreciate in order to get dividend? Dividend payment is a delay on my investment appreciation and progress.

INSTAFOREX is a dealing desk broker. It ensures that you don't win because your success is their loss. That is why they play pranks to ensure you don't win.

Run away from INSTAFOREX, bloody scammer!

fxjones: I have been with instaforex since 2009, I have never had issues with them as to deposit or withdrawal slamming this honest broker i think is bad, when you gamble and lose money you start blaming broker, when the fault is actually from you, losses are normal in forex trading,so also are profits, take reasonable risk and think longterm, people only think of the profits neglecting that there are also losses involved, Ok Imagine a situation were you opened a trade with over 20lots and risking 15pips isnt that a recipee for disaster? I do not mean to be personal or protec the company, I only air my view
I don't think you are a stranger to the thread, "Forex Trade Alerts". Also, I don't want to believe that you are ignorant of the rampant complaints against this broker. Not just in this Forum, go to FOREXPEACEARMY and see the review about this broker there.

If you are not having issues, fine, but I don't think the numerous complaints here about how INSTAFOREX has SCAMMED our colleagues should be swept under the carpet. The complaints are just too many and I don't think you are fair to the complainants with your kind of response above. You should feel the pains of others because it could be you one day.

An injury to one, is injury to all. Instaforex is a scam broker. Period.
