I don't usually comment on nairaland but I actually had to login to comment here so the world will know the truth. First of all, I want to establish that I have nothing to gain or lose if Ekeukwu Owerri market is relocated or not. What pains me is the temerity with which the government uses the media to lie to us; we've lost our minds in the name of playing politics. How would someone write this piece, that the market was relocated amid jubilation? Do people lose their lives while jubilating? How can you relocate a functioning market to an incomplete site? How can you say the action was a peaceful one, when thugs from a particular part of the state were looting shops to zero level? How peaceful could it have been when gunshots greeted the people of Owerri from the early hours of today till evening? I can't even type further.... I feel so bad for all those that lost their loved ones; seeing this news in the internet would be more of emotional torture to them. It's unfortunate that the government would do all sort of things and get away with it. In all that happened today, all I'm asking for is a fair report. The people of Owerri are not happy, lives were lost, nobody is jubilating, people were even scared to come out today. I might not be a reporter but I feel the people's pains. I just hope we get it right someday. |
Nigeria has lost it |
alexdon I was in a similar situation about three years ago. I know how frustrating it can be. If you have any senior staff as a relation or friend, I think it would be best you involve him or her. In my own case, I met with the Dean, Student Affairs. From there my name was sent to Admissions Unit for Verification of Admission. After it was verified, they had to move down to NYSC office Abuja to effect some changes since my matric number was already registered in their database with a different name. That was how I scaled through. You need someone to take it up for you, don't fail to pray about it too. The major cause of the problem is the Mat Number format for Transfer students. They might have mistakenly omitted a "T" from a transfer student's number thereby automatically assigning your mat number to the fellow. I wish you all the best in your struggle... |

Chapel of the Holy Spirit IMSU - A Holy Spirit consumed and directed church! I remember my days at IMSU, having nostalgic feelings right now. Rev. Chinemere really did a great job there. I wish I could see him right now to thank him for his teachings every particular Sunday I was at the chapel. Concerning the transfer. I have read a lot of comments and I can only but smile - The priest-in-charge of the Cathedral (Ven. A.C. Chukwuocha) is a mentor to Rev. Chinemerem. While I was at IMSU, he invited the Ven. severally to come and speak to us and trust me, all the messages were loaded. There exists a father-son relationship between them and I'm confident the duo will move the cathedral to greater heights. Posterity will not forgive me if I fail to acknolwedge the Bishop's chaplain, Rev. canon Ogechi Ofurum. He too is a father figure, a mentor and a role model to me and many. I sincerely appreciate them all of their impact in my life... I also pray the Almight God to grant them the grace to discharge their duties even better. May God continue to bless his church and..... May He also bless Nigeria. |
