Vice Chairman of the Senate Committee on Information and Communication Technology and Cybercrime, Senator Foster Ogola, on Thursday said the upper chamber of the National Assembly would probe deposit money banks used for transactions between Nigerians and a ponzi scheme, Mavrodi Mondial Movement.

Ogola, while speaking at an interactive session between the committee and key players in the financial sector, said an international expert on cyberspace and banking crimes was already in the country on the invitation by the committee to expose all those involved in how MMM defrauded Nigerians.

He said, “We need to secure our cyberspace and financial sector against all forms of crimes or frauds as seen with the MMM operators who came, in collaboration with insiders, and expressly entered into the banking system, duped and bolted out.

“We have to stop anything that will defraud us, and the first step now is to expose all the banks involved in the MMM fraud.

“As a chartered fraud examiner, when the scam called MMM ponzi scheme came with its 30 per cent interest in 30 days early last year, I told people then that it was a fraud but many refused to listen and some of them later learnt their lessons in bitter ways.”

The lawmaker also announced that the Senate would soon come up with a legislation that would make digital education compulsory in both primary and secondary schools.

Ogola explained that the interactive session was to gather the inputs of all the stakeholders to the amendments that would soon be carried out on the Cybercrime Act.

The Central Bank of Nigeria and the other banks at the session identified creation of a centralised database anchored on the National Identity Card scheme as the best way to prevent cybercrime in the country.

Greeting to all those who have been sending words of encouragement despite the rude, harsh and unrealistic attack I've been getting from die-hard, addicted and mostly hypnotized Ponzi scheme participants.

A so called new model is up. It says all members must recommit fresh funds to be able to GH. The noise makers were those who only had 2017 mavros and have never felt the pain of having considerable amount of money trapped in a monkey business, with no iota of control over it. Others where guiders who felt either way they keep benefiting from commissions. Sadly today 1 or 2 guiders have seen the light of day and are pulling out from the scam business called MMM, one even put up his account for sale, for the integrity of a man is more important than silver or gold.

MMM promised that they had learnt from 2016 mistakes and will never go down again, it is now clear that it was one of their many techniques to swindle the unsuspecting, naive and the unschooled in the uncertain world of investments. My worry however is must MMM tell us to our face that we are mentally bankrupt before we fight back?, must we allow these rogues have a field day deceiving us and our brothers? It's time to stand firm and resist this evil. "Our Mumu don Do".

Finally the overall aim will be to recruit new unsuspecting members and allow disgruntled member ignore their accounts, thus perpetuating a vicious cycle or what the medics call a positive feed back effect, where thousands of Nigerians are defrauded in continious cycle. 2016 participants felt it, 2017A participant are now seeing it and if we don't fight back there will be 2017B participants.

Your advice is not needed sir. MMM is not begging for members, especially your kind. The warning is clearly written on the site to use spare money, so that when measures that would delay PH and GH are being installed, U won't be feeling pressed. The core/pioneering members know this.
