Farouksenior: I said earlier on that i would chronicle my hustle
Many atimes we come in2 a business thinking, it's a fast way to make cash. Sadly domaining is not.
2015:
I was a green horn, eager to learn..i dey call 2sexy 3-4 hours on his phone sotey d guy phone go hot, infact i pester d guy so badly, him just gree my own come benin.. we begin relate face2face.
Challenges:
Finance I was the defination of bro:ke infact if i manage reg one name, i fit rest for 2 weeks. I quickly realized domaining fit put me in debts. Everything i did was not getting head, every month den 2sexy they announce sales..i was like Baba God pick my call na.
Cape of Good Hope: O mehn in came the brandbucket hype .. brandables dey sell like fire. I sat down one day after analysing like 10 names, i regged them with the sole purpose of selling them as BB accepted names.... oluwa ooo.
I immediately turn supplier, they chop small small 20$ to 25$. I was not happy but contented.
Renewals: I come dey try balance things but sadly, since i regged many crazy names back den, i had to let go. Infact even though it looked as if i was in money, i was actually broke.
2016: I read through the two threads on nairaland, i realized my strengths was in brandables. But with brandables, so much uncertainty especially when you are buying handregs.
Brandbucket:
Quickly built a portfolio of about 14 names, but not a single sale, i stumbled across a guy here saying he sold Payarc .com, i strengthed my resolve.
Sadly 2016 my saving grace was doing quick flips for bb accepted names.
2017 : I bought bolthost .com, na dis name wer mk 2sexy cum think say i don loose my head.
I emailed buyer... Buyer answered me with 50$ I replied with 3000$ Buyer started abusing me.. > you steal names > you sonofabitch > you even stole my name so you can sell at a higher rate to me.
I was calm.
Buyer >>> ok, ok i will do $200 last
I said NOPE !! - $2000 looks beta
Buyer: > you ungrateful asshole > bloody squatter.
I lost my head and we engaged in over 15 email replies. Infact it was bloody he cussed me, i cussed him baq. Ended up sellin the name on NP for about 120$.
2018:
-January got a small contract to supply names Made $1400
-March 1st sold my first brandbucket name like i earlier mentioned here : $2495.
I took 10% as a tithe and said God i want mk You give me a better sales.
- june 15.
I sold V/eras/hield .com for $4495
Stats: 1. G/o/chir/p .com Brandable Brandbucket Purchase cost : $8 (handreg) Duration : about 6-7 months Sold : $2495
2. V/era/shie/d. com Brandable Brandbucket Purchase cost : 8$ (handreg) Duration : about 8-9 months Sold : $4495
Its been God. I still dey learn Thanks
Lazy domainer
Last bullet: Be careful of who you share things with on Np, some of those guys will just rob you blind. Steal your ideas, steal your names if possible. great story and a phenomenal sale there congratulations, wish you more sales |

otoboson: Let me share my 1 month old domaining experience;
So I started reading this thread around this time last month (May 2018), after getting to about page 50, I got motivated enough to buy some (10) domain names on namesilo costing about 26k in total between 18th and 24th of May 2018.
I did outbound for about a week and I didn't get any response from potential buyers so I lost my motivation and totally forgot about domaining around May 30th 2018.
However, exactly 1 week ago (June 7th, 2018) I got an email from namesilo telling me that my domain name has been sold for $300 and I am left with $277.5 after commission.
I have bought 6 more domains since then (making my portfolio 15), and the payout of my $277.5 will be enabled today.
What I have learnt within my 1 month of domaining;
1. Read this thread very well and take the advises seriously.
2. Don't buy domains with very high advert rates (domains where the end users are already advertising on Google and other websites).
3. ALWAYS INCLUDE A BUY IT NOW BUTTON ON YOUR SALES PAGE.
4. The business is real, if it is slow, don't loss your motivation.
5. Make EXPIRED DOMAINS DOT NET your frequently visited website. congratulations, wish u more sales |

haykay2005: C/h/a/i/n/A/f/f/i/l/i/a/t/e/s.com sold for $3000 (outbound). Handreg 5 months ago for $6.9 Brief: 2 months ago I reached to about 20 end users but only one replied immediately with price request and I quoted $15k. He laughed and ignored me. After several follow ups on all of them, this same guy replied with a $2k offer. we later agreed on $3k after negotiating back and forth. I came down too low but don't forget this is outbound. Always difficult to get your predetermined price. So I agreed to a $ 3k offer, set up a BIN @ undeveloped and he picked up after 10 days. Within that period I had to send like 2 reminders before he eventually click BIN( buyer silence game) . May be he would have disappeared if I didn't Press further . Lesson : follow up works Other quick flips not yet reported :
CryptoAbility.com to a namepros member for $250, handreg for $6.9, held for about 6 months Chainier.com sold for $100 @ namepros, handreg like 4 months ago for $6.9 Greatsongwriter.com, handreg for £1 plus a year renewal. Sold on namejet for $200 FotoCreator.com purchased on namepros for 7 plus a year renewal. Sold on namejet for $100 PickBeer.com won on namepros auction for $4 and sold at namejet for $91 this is great! wish you more sales |

Heyzee5: To avoid forgetting your login details like Oga expertix already mentioned, get a computer or a phone with MS-word or WPS office for android and put all your login details for all your domains in there. This is what I do for all the credentials of marketplaces and registrars where I have my domain listed and registered. also write it somewhere, may be in a jotter, that could come handy. |

expertix: The Guy is a big joker. He can not own it. No Nigerian domainer can own 3letter combo domain. What seems he is talking could be nothing else than IDN letters. You know some of IDNs letters looks much like latin letters which are dictionary letters.
Seen 3letter domains do come once in blue moon and you can not possessed it easily, it will go to auction and where domainers will scramble for it and usually in a very high price and nothing less than five to six figure in $ cash.
If the guy think he is right, well let him buy or reg it and post it here for us.
Good luck to him or her. Cheers you are so right,, may be he saw an IDN. sometimes I wonder why Gtbank did not own Gtb.com or why first bank can't I own Fbn.com I have seen few liquid domains in Nigerian space so far e.g Fcmb dot com and naij dot com (which I don't think they know the value yet) |
Business › Re: What To Do To Make Money Online? by jamih: 7:51pm On May 13, 2018 |
expertix: I strongly doubt such availability of three letters in .com. Infact it is impossible, it can not be in any latin letters. But if you are so sure and if the .com is still available; why not register it. 3 letter .com domains are now 6 figure in dollar cash. I am 100% sure it is not available for reg fee, I think wat he meant was that he owns it "not that he sees it as available to reg" |

DEagle1: Happy new @ all. Someone contacted me 2 days ago from Japan and told me he's a domain broker for a company, that his client is interested in of my domain names the sports niche and will offer 80 Ethereum. The domain was meant to expire yesterday at Godaddy, I didn't plan to renew it because later saw someone having a better variation of it for sale. He asked if I have Ethereum wallet that he can assist me open one if I want. I asked if his client can choose any other means to pay, if not I will see what I can do. And I got the response below - copy and paste.
If you have Telegram you may contact our English speaking representative in Europe - Mike at https://re:e/MikeGroupHelp
He may also help you to finish the sale. My commission is only 5 %. The commission is divided between you and the buyer and paid after you get the money.
The buyer offers 80 ETH. He may also pay in Yen (Japanese currency) if you can accept it. If it's ok let's proceed.
You will be paid via Paypal, wire transfer, Western Union or Bitcoins/Ethereum.
Do you have a certificate in English and Japanese? It's required by the buyer and his escrow service. They must be sure your domain has no restrictions or problems with law and trademarks in Japan. He won't proceed without it.
The certificate must include the following to be accepted by my buyer: - Ownership verification (the certification agency must confirm you are a legal owner). - Trademark infringement verification (the buyer does not want to lose the domain after purchase because it has problems with trademarks). - The domain must not be pledged or sold to third parties (verification of restrictions). - The certificate must be up to date (issued during last 30 days) - Copy of the certificate in Japanese (required by the buyer because he does not speak English). - The certification agency must be authorized by my buyer and the escrow.
My buyer is a professional investor and he won't be able to send you the payment without this certificate. There is no other way for you and us to finish the sale. The payment to you will be made via escrow service to protect both parties during the transaction. You can read about certification agency that is accepted by the escrow and supports a copy in Japanese at Google Answers: http://questions.google-answers.info/threadview/id/906189315.htm The buyer sent me this link. Domain Broker is a nick name of his former broker who worked with my buyer in the past.
The process is very easy (you can do everything online in several minutes):
1. Go to the certificate agency site accepted by my client and order the certificate. The service recommended at Google Answers is accepted by the escrow and they support Japanese and English languages. 2. After they approve your request please make the payment. The certificate will be sent to your email within several hours. Send the certificate to me and we will start the sale process the same day.
Our company also takes care about you as a seller. There is no risk for you to lose the money after ordering the certificate even if something goes wrong. The recommended certification agency won't send you the payment instructions if your domain has some legal problems.
They also provide full money back guarantee if you don't sell your domain within 15 days.
If you are new to the certification process or unsure which certification agency to use, I can help you with the step by step instructions how to order a proper certificate online.
Its quite lengthy, but please what do you think about this. Do you think its genuine. Have you experienced such before. Thanks
