Go and update yourself... Hughton isn't the chief coach..He is the technical adviser... Otto Ado is the one in charge of the team..

And Hughton is nowhere near world class..He was caretaker coach at Tottenham and has spent most of his career managing in the championship...
World class coaches are the one coaching top tier teams in top tier leagues and winning trophies...
When I say world class (thank you for the emphasis- technical advisor ) im not comparing him to guardiola, tuchel, mohrino, etc but he has played and coached at the highest leagues as far as the sport is concerned. He is one of the few blacks to have coached in the premier league. He was the caretaker coach of Tottenham at a time. He has been voted Championship Manager of the Year twice: in 2010 while at Newcastle and in 2016 for his work at Brighton. I think the has a lot of experience about the game.
Compare him to Eguavon, eguavon apart from coaching one south African club has been coaching gombe utd, enyimba etc. He has never played or coached in a top 5 league. Is this the resume needed for Nigeria to make an impact at the world cup? So I was calling Chris world class when compared to eguavon.
Why doesn't Nff hite a coach that has coached in thr top 5 leagues likewise?

Ghana was expected to crush Comoros and make it out of their group, but Comoros mercilessly crushed Ghana.

Now, the Ghanaians are confident they can win us, they are even talking about surprise lists and making plans for how they will lure Lamptey and Odoi with World Cup qualification

So, you expect all of us here to start predicting failure for the team because AFCON did not work out? So if you apply for job and they reject you, you will not be optimistic during your next application? Na so you think say people suppose dey live life? With great expectations of failure?
You have a point sha. Let's be optimistic. We will defeat them

I really hope Nigeria will win. But I have to prepare my mind against hypertension in case of disappointment. But seeing names like onazi, etebo, and maybe musa makes me wonder how serious they are. If anything goes wrong Eguavon will say nff pressured him into the team selection. And to me, I feel amunike has a better track record at coaching than eguavon.

Eguavon is very predictable as the tunisian coach said, the same starting line up at afcon will feature, chukwueze and moses Simon on the wings, these players play the same way and try to hold on to the ball, are weak at crosses which makes it easy for their opponents do their homework effectively, osihmen at the attack bit who's gonna supply the passes to him? Without ndidi, Thomas partner has a field day. Even with ndidi, lookman and iheanacho, Thomas partner opened the scoring against a Leicester side that was thrashed last week

This is one of the weakest Ghanaian team in their history and it’s the opposite for us. If Eguavoen fvcks this up again like vs Tunisia,……..
I agree that it is one of the weakest Ghanaian teams but there is a reason they haven't announced their squad. They are up to something different. Secondly, this Nigerian team is overrated by Nigerians as usual. The same team struggled against the likes if cape verde, central African republic to qualify for Afcom and lost in the second round to a covid depleted tunisian first eleven. Football has gone more tactical than just sending players in the field and telling them just express yourselves anyhow. Let's not be taken away by entertaining football at the expense of strategy. There has to be a strategy masterminded from the coaching crew to make the difference when the game gets hot. Ghana's rumoured to bring back the likes of mintari and boateng. This people especially muntari used to have very powerful long distance shot( watch Ghana vs Uruguay worlds cup 2010 to confirm), how many will our goalkeeper catch. He is conceedeing goals generously even in his clubside

Otto Ado not Chris is the head coach, and he has no first team coaching experience.
Chris Hughton is the technical adviser..He is far from being a world class coach, just decent...
Chris Hughton who has managed totenham, Newcastle, Birmingham amongst others is not world class? How many of such clubs has eguavon coached? They are miles apart in terms of experience.

Sentiments at work, Nigeria was already expected to win Afcon and crush Tunisia mercilessly just because of some first round points. Now Nigeria is expected to crush ghana just like that. Let's see what happens.
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by jasena: 4:13pm On Mar 19, 2022
If I were to stake my money on the outcome, I would say ghana would qualify for the world cup. 'Soup wet sweet an money kill am'. They have a world class coach with a lot of experience from the premiership. While eguavon is playing is football with his mouth, and bringing up a list to 'pacify some people in the nff', his Ghanaian counterpart is silent on the matter. We haven't learnt from our mistakes in afcon, Nigerian players are invited on the basis of sentiment rather than merit or current form. Nigerias most consistent scorers in the big stage such as cyriel dessert(wven scored this week at the Europe Conference league), nwaekeme ( Nigeria's top performer in terms of goals and assists in Europe ) are ignored. And poorly performing goalkeeper like okoye is maintained, old legs like onazi and etebo are brought in, bonke overlooked, moffi overlooked, our coach is also a poor match reader and I'm sure the Ghanaian coach has his plan a, b and c in place. Another Tunisia sort of match seems to be in the making
Christianity EtcRe: Eguavoen Reacts To Prophet Ayodele Prophecy by jasena: 6:30pm On Feb 05, 2022
Why wouldn't he make such prophecies? Did we except knocked out of the Afcon at the round of 16 by a covid virus depleted team? 'Soup wet sweet an money kill am'. Ghana is hiring a world class coach, who has had stints with Tottenham, Newcastle etc, he has the experience, but we put sentiments into play as usual to bring in eguavon, is eguavon there on merit? At the end the matches (Nigeria vs ghana) will be decided by the tactical decisions of the coaching crews. May the most deserving coaching crew win.
SportsRe: NFF Doesn’t Believe In Nigerian Coaches, Says Christian Chukwu by jasena: 3:11pm On Feb 01, 2022
It is not colonial mentality. Nigeria as an independent nation ruled by Nigerian is doing worse in every department as against when it was handled by the colonialist.
Ghana has enlisted the services of a world class coach of Ghanaian and British descent. Soup wet sweet an money kill am. This coach has managed the likes of Tottenham, Newcastle, Norwich, and is convinvincing foreign born Ghanaians to play for ghana. He has the experience at the highest level, he can read matches and knows what to do. Egypt took up an experienced coach despite not having a star studded lineup barring slash and trezeguet but they are in the semi finals. Tactics matter a lot. While I don't care where the coach comes from, I feel the coach should have the pedigree to produce results against world class opposition
SportsRe: NFF Doesn’t Believe In Nigerian Coaches, Says Christian Chukwu by jasena: 3:05pm On Feb 01, 2022
I prefer amunike to eguavon, egyavom has coached the super eagles twice in ad in and has never qualified dir semi finals, apart from him all other coaches have taken Nigeria tonrhs semi finals at least in the past 40 years if my research is correct
SportsRe: Burkina Faso Vs Tunisia : AFCON 2021 Quarter-final (1 - 0) On 29th January 2022 by jasena: 4:53am On Jan 30, 2022
Let's give credit where it is due, I think we had the best defence in the tournament, bad goalkeeper uzoho was better.Good defensive midfield. Ndidi is a boss at that department.Absolutely no creative midfielder play, watch the goal BF scored, an impressive pass from the midfield found their attacker going one on one with the tunisian midfield. I thought Nwakali was added to the team to fill that vaccubut evuavon decided to leave bin on the bench. And though our wingers especially moses Simon we're flashy, they don't really play team football that much, it appears Simon I was particular was more interested in making a name for himself even if it had to be at the expense of the team. Finally we neededbetter strikers with goal instincts than awoniyi
SportsRe: Burkina Faso Vs Tunisia : AFCON 2021 Quarter-final (1 - 0) On 29th January 2022 by jasena: 4:45am On Jan 30, 2022
Being an ex International doesn't automatically make you a good coach. Eguavon has never excelled as a coach. He lacks tactical know how and
his selection is based on familiarity or popularity rather than ability and form. Even a lame man could see that awoniyi never provided bite at the attack and umar was better. The same goes for the goalie. The burkina faso team I saw would have defeated Nigeria, look at the goal they scored, in similar situations Nigerian players just kick the ball to the onrushing goal keeper ( ejuke did that against Egypt while umar at did that at the dying minutes of Tunisia match) but bf man running at high speed and seeing that the defenders and goal keeper closed in on him, change direction of the ball to give him enough space to score. My verdict is that this very team or lead by eguavon if they manage to defeat ghana will be eliminated at the first round of the world cup. We need a good coach with good credentials, and the team needs to be rijigged. We have players like ademola lukman, olise, even Samuel kalu, cyriel, etc.Our players are average players
SportsRe: Nigeria Vs Tunisia AFCON 2021.Round-of-16: (0 - 1) On 23rd January 2022 by jasena: 7:18am On Jan 24, 2022
This current team as it is, irrespective of the coach can't go fat if it manages to qualify for the world cup, it needs to be rejigged. We need good attackers and the creative midfielders that can link up the attack, the defence and defensive part of the midfield is strong, But it becomes hard for strikers if they have to win the ball themselves before trying to score. Moses Simon holds on to the ball too long, it is not the style of play for tough opposition.

My own is that,it shall not be well with Stupid Watford and Napoli in this world.I know why I am saying this. What could have brought Awoniyi and Sadiq Umar to Super Eagle striking position if not for racist act of Napoli and Watford.
Umar Sadiq is a very good player, you'd be surprise that even with osihmen and Dennis the results wouldn't have changed much. Wasn't oshmen on ground when Nigeria lost to be central African Republic, we only depended on wingplay which the Tunisians anticipated and did their homework accordingly.
SportsRe: Nigeria Vs Tunisia AFCON 2021.Round-of-16: (0 - 1) On 23rd January 2022 by jasena: 6:04am On Jan 24, 2022
Sadiq Umar and uzoho should have been first choiice players, nwakali should have been involved die to his ability to tee up the strikers with sublime passes and hood dead ball abilities, we lacked a clinical finisher, we hardly attempted long range shots to test opposition goal keeper at least, unlike Tunisia who benefited from a long distance shit in deciding the game. The coach failed. Nigeria we're to predictable and the coach should have had plan b, plan c etc. I think ahead of the world cup Nigeria should look into the invitation of would be debutante to add spice the team, the likes of look an, olisa, eberecji, even cyriel Messrs., basically we need flexible team tactics and strategy from the coaching crew, need creative ppl aymaker and sharp finishers.

If this team is accessed in relation to the quality of opposition then we should agree that this team is average. I don't think it is the best Nigeria has to offer. I don't see what musa brought to the table in the last nations cup, surprised he is still making it to this nations cup. Oshimem isn't fit, and shouldn't be managed because this isn't a training session. Kenneth Omeruo and Shehu Abdullahi play in second division in Spain and Cyprus as against Kevin akpoguma, ebuhi who play for top flight clubs in top leagues. Is Ndah a world class defender? Cyril dessert dishonoured an invitation from Belgium in favour of Nigeria, he scored a brace at Europa the other day with feynoored, we ignore him for igalo. The worse part is the midfield, what will iwobi do? Against Algeria in the last nations cup the midfield became the territory of Algeria and we were only lucky that a hand ball gave us a consolation goal. Victor moses would have been far more effective than musa.

No player in Europe's top five leagues has completed more nutmegs than Emmanuel Dennis
Dennis is still an upcoming player at the moment, he is still down in the pecking order of current African elite players, ivory coast is coming with holands and ucl top scorer, mane, salad, wendy, aubameyang, koulubaye, riyad mahrez etc will be part of Afcon. Don't build to much expectations around Dennis Emmanuel
SportsRe: Onuachu Out, Ighalo In: Eguavoen Releases Final Squad List For AFCON 2021 by jasena: 8:27am On Dec 26, 2021
I don't see Nigeria going very fat in this competition, in fact it would have been better to let gernot rorh finish off his work than to have eguavon replace him. Kevin akpoguma has contributed 5 goals in Bundesliga and he doesn't make the list while some like ndah who has caused many penalties for his south African club gets called up. Ahmed musa is done and dusted, everything has time yet he is called in. If Spain can drop ramos what is musa doing there? Cyril dessers has scored a lot for his club feynoored, he is a good smart talent, yet he wasn't invited. Akinkumi amoo is needed in the midfield, he is fast, has got he ability to score from outside the box, he is also skillful yet he is dropped. Nwakali is the only creative midfielder. Look at other teams going into the compettion, Algeria and Morocco have a star studded midfield several other African countries. Anyway wish them best ofnluck

We have few of his kind in Nigeria and beyond[/quote]Yes he championed the consolidation of the banking sector but failed to exercise control and implementation of banking best practices. The banks were like beautiful buildings awaiting collapse under Soludo. The banking sector suffered anarchy as many banks extended loans and other credit instruments without following due process. The banks had been weakened by the accumulation of non performing loans given to the likes of dangote, otedola etc at the expense of peoples money. They looked good on the outside but were actually at the brink of collapse. Sanusi had to sink tax payers money to the banks (as loans), to save these bank. Where is Oceanic, intercontinental bank etc today. Their problems were going on under Soludo era as he was sweeping the gross mismanagement and corruption in the banking sector under the carpet. Wasn't he aware of the non performing loans threating the financial sector?
And with the stocks, are you forgetting that was directly connected to the global financial crisis and not limited to Nigeria?

Stop telling people how outstanding an achiever you are and do the work before you. Record has it that you are the worst Central bank Governor in the history of Nigeria as you collapsed the banking sector and it took the intervention of Sanusi to restore it. We have acclaimed Economist like Okonjeo Iweala and many others that hardly beag about their academic past. Look at my kinsman Dr. Clement Isong (Harvard) the first central bank governor of Nigeria, check his records academically and professionally. You can't match him.
