In the verse you quoted, Jesus is specifically referring to oneness in thought , loved , purpose and belief...which is why if you go on further in verse 23 He said : ..I in them , and you in Me, that they may be made perfect in one(love) , and that the world may know know you sent Me(purpose)

Jesus in this passage is not taking about humans being equal with Him, but that they , believing on Him , will the same purpose that Godhead (the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit)have.

You still do not get it. Jesus told His listeners that I and My Father are one (John10:30)...which does not translate to agreement; it translates to I-am -equal -to -God. Which is why they wanted to stone Him...

This scripture is referring to a report of what David saw; he was an observer.

Secondly, Jesus blatantly told his listeners that "I and my Father(God Almighty) are one"(John10:30 ). And to them , this was blasphemous...and they knew what He was saying, which is why they picked up stones to throw at Him.

Even Philip at one time challenged Jesus to show Him the Father , and Jesus blankly told him(Philip) , that anyone who has seen me has seen the Father (John14:9).
