First let us agree that PPP cannot be used to compare countries. We use nominal GDP in USD. I am not saying there is no use of PPP - PPP is very useful tool within the country - for say measuring poverty!

Secondly let us agree that Kenya and TZ have a free - floating currency - there is no official exchange rate and black market one.Right now Central Bank of Nigeria has fixed an exchange rate of 306USD for naira - but the market rate is something 360 plus.If we use the real market rate - Nigerai GDP (and it's per capita) - will drop drastically from $400B to $320B - and my contention is that 320B is still cooked..Nigeria GDP should be around 250B.

Kenya is not rich - but it's growth has been solid 6% for the last 15yrs and it's predicted to grow at 6% for next 15yrs....and so by 2030-2035...it will have overtaken South Africa if she continues in her current mess.Nigeria is hopeless. She has to wean herself of OIL before we can talk about her.

GDP per capita is a calculated thingy. Does not measure the real thing on ground. It involves Gross domestic product converted to international dollars using purchasing power parity rates and divided by total population.Nigerians.Your GDP is 400 b (Not really sure )while Kenya’s one is around 80 b.
The real thing to use is the human development index which we are ahead of you.

I am not surprised. You're ignorant and proud of it. It's one of busiest payments in the world - that emerged out of Kenya and in kenya alone it's processes 1.5 billion payment transactions. Many countries including Ghana are doing okay but Nigeria simply made a mess out of it. They let the banks - instead of telcoms- to ran it and now - 5yrs later - only 1% of Nigeria have heard or used about Mobile Payment - and they are guys with bank account - not the real target - the 140M extremely poor nigerians - leave alone the 60M poor ones.

They’re about 60% done on reclamation of land from the sea. I believe roads, power and water are already on most parts of the current reclaimed land. They also haven’t finished the canals, plus the marina is yet to be completed. All we’re waiting for is for investors to build their buildings, plus recession slowed down the building. Hopefully as the economy grows without interruption, we should see more buildings coming on ground.

But Nigeria needs more than 1 world class city. I don’t know what’s going on in centenary city in Abuja.. be like say politicians and corruption dey stall am.

Did you know that as we speak total number of mobile money (m-pesa & equitel) transactions are around 1.5B per year. Visa- the world busiest (unless it been overtaken by China's Union) total global transactions are 28B. So already M-PESA is among the world busiest payment systems..and it's growing at a furious pace!
